This is such a good tutorial video! You are so good at explaining ALL of the steps in detail while still keeping it brief and to the point. EVERYTHING on my car is seized SOLID and I have been fighting with wheel bearings and front end suspension/steering for over a WEEK now! What a pain in my a**!!!!! The last thing I want to do is disassemble ANOTHER seized part so I can break something else in the process lmfao After watching this video I'll be stretching the boot on myself instead of paying a garage hours of labour to disassemble everything and replace it. So thank you!! Just gained a subscriber for sure!
If you have trouble locating a Plastic Cone, like in the video, from your local motor factors/Halfords etc, XXL Butt Plugs from Ann Summers work just as well.
Well explained and very informative. Will have to invest in one of those cones and use universal gaiters in future. Thanks for taking the time to film. All the best Pete 👍
It's hard to say, it all depends how big it is, how much you're driving, how dirty are your roads. Normally, it's not something you stop for and call recovery, but it must not be ignored - just replace it when you can.
I have a lots of non-unique videos on my channel. It's just meant for people who have no experience at all to give them confidence to start DIY-ing. I'm putting out a video about Ford rear brakes today - it's so boring, makes me sick 😁 But there will be plenty of people seeing it as a good guide... Maybe... Or maybe I should review my content..
@@aqib2000 NGL this is quicker than other options such as removing the axle head and then replacing the gator that way instead of cutting, stretching and then refitting. No need to be mean, your comment was not valuable at all :)

@@wawayltd I’m going to find a reason to change my CV joints now. Lol

I have an old pair of joinery pincers they seem to work to tighten these clips.
Always great
Thanks
Great video
Thanks 👍
Very clever idea ... Well done
The idea is not mine, but thank you very much 😎👍
Thank you, Excellent.

Hi nice video thanks. Whats your opinion on the universal split boots. you dont have to take anything off the car and just glue together.
I've never tried one. If you try - please let me know how it went..
very well explained good work and yes can be fiddly to do some times 👍
Thanks Tim 😊👍
Good video
Thanks
What model of bailcast cv is that one? The only universal i find is the split cv
It was while ago. Not sure about the model, sorry
Just wondering if you use cable ties will it pass a MOT in the uk ??
Yes, it passes MOT, there is no strict rule on that. Although, looking back, I would recommend to use those metal stripes if you can.
La ce cuplu de strangere ai strans surubul de la planetară?
Vă mulțumesc!
Thank you sir

thank you for the post great video.would i need wheel alignment after this? ford mondeo mk4 petrol owner
You're very welcome 👍 No, you don't need alignment, because your steering and rest of suspension remain unchanged.
@@wawayltd thank you for replying and the video
I have a spilt, how long do you think I should wait to get it fixed?

@@wawayltd thank you!!!
@@wawayltd decided to bite the bullet and get a refurbished drive shaft.
All roads lead to Rome 😊
Is this the same process for inner cv boot ?
Sorry, I don't have any experience with the inner.
CV Joint Boot Gaiter Kit
wow thank you
You're very welcome 👍
Was it making any noises or was it just split?
No, just split.
Perfect
Cable ties aren’t strong enough,
I never had problem with them. I agree that metal clamps are better, but if you're using cable tie on the narrow side, it's not a big deal.
Im mechanic and i can tell u its not the proper way to put cable ties from rubber on a cv boot
Thanks, I know, it's not perfect, but it works.

Exactly!
Not a big fan of the plastic zip tie..You have part. Do it right. No need to N-rig it.
You're right. Going back in time, I would use the metal strip. Although, if something has gone wrong with it, zip tie is not a big crime 😉
Nothing quick or unique about this. Same process on all cars

WheelsAndMotors you content is fine it’s just how I read the title as “Quick way to” therefore was expecting a short cut.
Keep it up
