Gaggia and One Touch Cappuccino machines have removable milk carafes which need regular cleaning. This video shows how to dismantle and clean the carafe.
Is the block / lid that is covering the carafe safe to wash / rinse under running water? Sometimes there is milk residue splashed up there through use / handling of the carafe. I noted that there are screws and there is a spring in the inner working of the block lid that allows the milk dispense to slide back and forth. Are they at risk of rusting away or is this safe?
yes you can. You should wash the cappuccinotore (the part that pulls out with the tube) under running water but it can be dismantled. We also recommend using a milk cleaning liquid, mixed with water, in the carafe and doing a milk froth function can also clean it. You can now get help also on our zoom platform. www.gaggiadirect.com/meet-us.live.html

"How to clean the carafe" should cover cleaning the carafe, not just the tubing and lid. Is the carafe dishwasher safe? I'll find that info elsewhere.
None of these parts are dishwasher proof for long. Dishwashers get too hot. Buy some pipe cleaners for the small holes.
I would never get it back together
