Apologies, but I'm a bit confused about the amount of Rinza to use for my Accademia. In this video, the entire 4 oz Rinza bottle was poured into the carafe, which measures about 18 oz up to the max line. However, the 4 oz bottle mentions using 1 oz of Rinza per 16 oz of water. This Rinza and water concentration, according to the instruction diagram, appears to be for a machine that draws in milk from an external, non-attached carafe. However, one might assume that this concentration would also apply to the Accademia's attached carafe. Am I missing something? Definitely prefer the bottle's instruction, since I'd then get almost 4 uses per 4 oz bottle.

Thanks for the tutorial guys. I just purchased the Gaggia Velasca from you May, 2022. I have a lot of Rinsa that I haven't used. Is there a way to use the Milk Froth button, programming amount to be frothed, to trick the Velasca into doing this cleaning cycle? I assume you would dilute the Rinsa more since you wouldn't be pulling water from the reservoir. Then maybe run two complete rinse cycles? Or would it be better to do only the manual cleaning? What do you think?

Hi Tami, First, never put Rinsa in the reservoir. Only use in the frothing pitcher or as a cleaner for other milk parts - you can soak those in Rinsa as part manual cleaning. You absolutely dilute Rinsa into the carafe and run it through using the Milk Froth Cycle. You do not need to do 2 cycles. Run through for about 20-30 seconds then rinse the carafe, fill with clean water and run another 20-30 seconds on the froth cycle to rinse. Depending on use level you could do that every few days. Still recommend doing the manual cleaning weekly or whenever you notice a decrease in frothing performance. Hope that helps!

I just ran the carafe wash cycle using water and cycle one produces only steam... it not does not pull the water through like the video... any tips? Cycle two does pull the water through. Can you use another detergent than the Rinza solution? Im in a jam with visitors this morning! TY

Is one rinse cycle all that is necessary? It still appeared to be a little sudsy..?

+SuperDave21 As Todd mentions at 4:50 he really didn't rinse the carafe very well as he did not have a sink next to him. Before doing step 2 the carafe should be rinsed thoroughly.

How often is it necessary to do this deep clean of the milk carafe?
