Suggestion;
The IJN ran a pair of Battleship/carrier Hybrids from Japan to Singapore and back in 1945, and got away with it. If you want a "what if", then divert one or both to the Indian Ocean and see what sort of Commerce Raiders they might have been. And yes, Aircraft were available for them, it just would have taken a Imperial edict to free them up.
IRRC, they would have been opposed by escort Carriers, BB Richelieu and a few DDs. Could get interesting.... ;)
If I had a dollar for every time I’ve seen cap get wasted, while staring at a friendly wing, because he’s gotta fly formation, I’d be able to buy a real p-51 mustang.
Love these missions where you can see how much effort the real thing would be. Really appreciate your work in doing these.

You have mixed up the locations for Tirpitz, it was hit in Kåfjord earlier on (and repaired) but was ultimately sunk at Håkøya, which is just south of Tromsø, where her remains are today, which is quite a bit west-southwest of Kåfjord. I can almost see the Tirpitz remains from my house. Wish you could have a real map of the area! Still enjoyed this though, keep it up!
Maybe when the Kola map comes out, depending on how big the map is?
Great mission. Really felt it for the Bomber Squad that got jumped without escorts - not really much can be done if they find you. Wartime decisions must have been tough - the Tirpitz is worth how many aircraft and lives. My neighbour, who passed about 12 years ago, flew Lancasters in WWII. Can't imagine the feelings that go through your head just before starting your engines - average life expectancy something like 7 missions.

Please do a mission with a modernized battleship group vs a carrier group. That is, the Iowa class was kept semi modernized with harpoon and phalanx, etc. until their retirement. I think it'd be neat to see a "modern" battleship group try to match a modern carrier group.

39:45 Learn to trim yo. You got all of them in that plane + extra super fine aileron trim in the form of left and right fuel tanks. Even when trim isn't exact, it's better to press buttons back and forth intermittently than to apply continuous pressure with the stick. That said, I have managed to get a sore "trim thumb" a few times.
Keeping your feet on the pedals the whole time is pure misery (the buttocks part). Switching from both heels to toes of one foot can help a lot. Probably depends on the construction of your pedals how well that works. You're not steering at that point, just locking the pedals in place (only need to do this if the plane doesn't have rudder trim).
Now that you said it, I would recommend learning to fly simple stuff with the left hand. It's good for the brain. I learned to fly and dogfight right handed after doing it 25 years left handed a while back simply because HOTAS throttle couldn't be used with the right hand. Still can't do the twist grip right handed, though (only used for Descent (1995), not flight sims).
20:40 engine temp is cold likely you were running your mixture too rich for your altutude. Robbing your engine of power.

torque is such a BEAST on those horsey things. training could have been messy. use the runway, and trim to lift-off, imo. turn off your nav lights when in hostile territory.

mosquito was a powerhouse, probably saved the British.

two different key bindings, check your controls setup. Guns is WEAPON FIRE binding , Missiles is WEAPON RELEASE. I use two different buttons on they joystick.

An air sea gap is a major advantage, one just places a bunch of anti ship missiles and air combat aircraft on the Falklands.

Cap, stop flying so damn close to lead - it's stupid and unecessary. Why do you keep doing that? So annoying. Also, if you are flying milsim rules, when a pilot is shot down, they should not be allowed to continue communications, or offer to navigate etc for others.
