Hey cap, this comment doesn't exactly fit the theme but me and my friends really appreciate the tutorials you have made over the years. Its truly helped us learn and master the modules in DCS and made the journey a lot easier. Thank you for the amazing content as always.
Hey Cap, I have another mission idea: An OTH (over-the-horizon) radar receiver was recently damaged or destroyed by drones near Kovylkino, Mordovia, Russia. That site has very tall antennae arrayed in a straight line, and the before-and-after satellite images released online show freshly charred ground along that line. According to public data, a skywave OTH radar can detect aircraft (possibly even stealth planes) up to 3000km away. If drones weren't available, could piloted aircraft pull this off? Would you use a Bone to run in and carpet that line before being intercepted, or would something like a flight of Raptors be better?
Thank you for doing something about my home guys, couple of things, get here if you can, just in the summer, everywhere’s a tax haven cap, there are only 2 governments and both have about 20% tax rates. Guernsey was much more heavily defended than Jersey, nearly 2000 more bunkers and forts and would probably be the hardest to invade. My great Grandma was evacuated during the war, just a few days before the bombing of Guernsey harbour and the subsequent invasion, I’m sure she would have been grateful to get home a few years earlier
It sounds worse than it is, as it's usually 2 different radio channels, and (if caps the same as me) has main and alternative coming out of different ears (panned left and right).. on headphones, so can easily concentrate on the conversation youre having. It doesn't really come across like that on the yt vids tho, so sounds far more confusing than it is
@@GR.TuxxoR Was not attacking the situation, not at all... but listening to you folks gives me a lot more insight into real missions -- even if this is just simulation. And all of you work pretty well as a team!
By the looks of the super rough landings we may need to see a Warbirds landing comp. Just like the carrier landing, but on a runway and then a grass field.
If ground effect is simulated in the game, try raising the flaps just as you're about to or are touching down at landing. I use this technique flying RC warbirds and in DCS and it helps keeping the landing gear planted.
Loved the Men rubbing it in when you crashed on landing Cap. The Mossie flyby was particularly gratifying. Love the different scenarios and time lines you guys include in your missions. Many thanks fellows.
wow iv been asking for a mission like this for a while the channel islands is full of historical events and ww2 was one of the most interesting and fascinating bravery by the people that lived here

Fun fact, a company of British Paratroopers jumped onto St. Helier Beach on a Friday with several landing in the sea, they then went on a battlefield tour, got drunk for the weekend and flew back on the Monday
Hello to the Grim Reapers from Plymouth. Upon your return there will be bacon and egg sandwiches with a side salad. If you could use the main runway, park up in the normal place and send the person who let their wet and unwashed socks on the radiator to the main office. Even the airport cat won't go into the room.
Im still having trouble getting my P-47D off the ground in the Campaign mission. I still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I can't keep my oil pressure low enough on takeoff, blow the engine. Then I can't get enough power for takeoff if I don't. Help!
You guys are really really good at this! I've tried and after a bunch of nervous break downs and about 15 strokes I'm still a spring chicken compared to you. But some day.. perhaps 😂
Jersey is home of my medieval family I’ve traced us back too. Still there 1000 years later! The Germans didn’t wipe them out. But wondered what the occupation was like… For the history minded, On related note, Big Y DNA test shows they were not Norman but Celtic. My DNA IS 95.5% Celt and was a “rare” and “close” paternal match with Kilteasheen 22 dug up in Roscommon Ireland dating to 960-1300 AD! How cool is that? I’m itching to make a LONG trip soon now I’m retired.
Wow. Most of the warbirds that landed in that field crashed, and more than half of those turtled which would have killed the pilot. If it's that hard then maybe the Grim Reapers needs a grassy field landing competition.
I love DCS WW2, but sometimes I get so frustrated. Bugs that takes literal years to fix. Bad/lacking damage modeling on aircraft. Lack of appropriate aircraft. Not nearly enough AI assets. Completely bonkers damage modeling on ground units and ships. Almost complete lack of area effect damage from bombs and rockets. Much of this effects modern DCS too, but is more noticeable in WW2 settings.
I found myself watching Band of Brothers (again) recently, and I wondered if it would be possible to recreate the D-Day airborne drop with different eras of air assault doctrine. So like 1944 with the DC-2/C-47s, then Vietnam era with Hueys , Desert Storm era operations with Blackhawks, and more modern landings with, hell, I dunno what they use these days. Chinooks? Ospreys? I'm sure y'all have some folks more knowledgeable than me.
Picturing the Air Force General at the post post-debrief: "So as I understand it, the mission was a success & you met most/all objectives ... but I have no remaining aircraft? On account of poor lawn care?" 😊 (Really enjoyed the premise and organized mission. Ty all 🫡)

I can't believe that none of you flew a P-47, which is the ultimate WWII ground attack aircraft. It is a flying tank with eight .50 cal machine guns with 425 rounds per gun as well as rockets and bombs.
Matrix's voice is straight out of those black & white WWII films where they'd show the British/Allies overwhelming some guy called 'Gerry'..
It's such a posh BBC/RAF voice!

They don't need AAA, just a grass strip with a big sign "LAND HERE"
