By making a clone of your WordPress website, you can make any change you want without worrying about it effecting your live website.

Amazing video dude! This was exactly what I was looking for. Quick question for ya. My site has quite a lot of photos on it so when downloading the back up it has created 5 files to download. what about the background data of the site? codes/snippets etc? also, when cloning should i see the old plugins in the left tabs under "plugins" are are they just still implanted in the site but not downloaded to the 2nd WordPress account?

Great tutorial! So, i like (and use) the Astra theme, but the client site that i'm working with and downloading does NOT use the Astra theme. For me to have an accurate copy of the client site, do i need to begin with a blank slate site using the same theme as my client site?
Thank you, everything worked exactly how you explained. Except after I finished, I go to the new domain and it's still switches over to showing the old domain! I can't believe this, any idea what setting is wrong? And yes, I went to general settings and the URL is what it's supposed to be even though it's forwarding still to the old one. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated!

Can you make a backup of two websites? I am making a re-design of a clients webshop. Say i want to keep the original, and then make a new webshop for the redesign (with a new template). Can I take a backup of the new webshop too, then? And have both versions saved?
Thanks for the guide, the site looks fine only on the home page, when moving to other pages I get a 404 error, what could be the reason?
Initially, my clone last night was a trainwreck. Then as hours past, parts of the original site started to populate in the clone. But, overall, still a wreck...When I woke up the clone was successful. It took HOURS to clone! Is this normal, or due to the clone having pre-existing pages that needed to be overwritten?

I have two domains and I have fully created 1 website and other domain is empty can I use this cloning so that I don’t have to work again and create all the whole website for second one.also After cloning can we change the login credentials as both the domains and businessesa are different but are under same hosting

I really enjoyed this video. I'm having a website made for a particular country. Travel related. So in theory, couldn't I clone the website put it on a different URL, and just reconfigure everything for a second country? That way all the settings would look identical and uniform. Thanks in advance

On tutorial you have already set up a wordpress site. So that means that you have established wordpress and created a new database that is connected. If so, do we have to set specific name to that database? What about if we use an addon domain at same server (control panel)?
Yes, the database name should be unique and shouldn't match either other.
Can i use this method when i create multible new Websites so it becomes kind of a template for all my websites? And is the copyright fine With that, although it’s my website? Just want to be sure😁

Definitely works. But on mine it left behind all of the plugins.
What can I do resolve this issue?
Basically, if you take backup using the Database + Files (WordPress Files) option, all the plugins get restored on another site perfectly.
Once you cloned you mentioned you had to use the credentials of the first website. Do the two websites still act as completely different entities, they both just have the same username and password?
how did he get to that second website? Did he have to pay for another domian to run the backup?

Would this work if I’m trying to clone the website for a new location? Which means I would have to pretty much change all of the current city information that the first website has to the new location once the cloning process has taken place. If that would work, that would be so much more simple.

@@RowlandAgacheta My reply keeps disappearing... but yes, I was able to do it with Siteground's Migrator too. It copies the site to the new domain and updates the database references all at once.
Does this work with woo commerce i've attempted to do this and it just stays on 66% and I wasn't sure if it froze or was still uploading? (When i hit the restore button)

How can I create a new instance? I downloaded the site zip file, but cant find ANYWHERE on how to copy those zip files into the new instance. WP doesn't let me create a new website from the admin menu of my paid account and if I create a new wp account I can't install the plugin since it's a premium feature.. how do I do it? please anyone help me if u can..
