Just discovered your stuff Steve. Honestly so refreshing to watch something on the topic of web builders that's not clearly paid for. This space can be really challenging to get honest opinions.
Your ability to tell stories is thoroughly enjoyable. Humorous, informative, visually fun and well delivered. Whatever gift or talent it is you have/have crafted, totally scalable. Please keep it up. You’re doing us a civil service
Dude - you are AMAZING!!! You should be an actor. And your teaching style is incredibly clear and so easy to follow. I should know; I've been teaching classes for 30 years. Thank you for the fabulous comparison, and I wish your business well!
This is the best breakdown I've seen! Your delivery was very clear and concise and helped me really understand what each platform has to over. Bravo 👏🏾
Thank you so much for this content. I'm researching this and appreciated the brief demo on each site too. The color coding of your bookshelf cracks me up!
great video. My only complaint is the title. It grabbed me, which was the intent, of course. But you only reviewed 5 website builders - there are many, many more. So I'm glad you don't take bribes for endorsements, but being up front and honest in trying to get views matters, too.
Why is your view so low? Youre so underrated!! your review is much more comprehensive but in a compact way, understadable, easy and pleasant to listen to, and trust me ive seen a LOT of website builder comparation videos, and the best part ypure not spnsored so the view is unbiased. pls keep making these kinds of videos, for other apps and softwares too, i was saved by this one ❤
THANK YOU. Starting a small business and the web design component is a bit daunting to me. I greatly appreciate your clear comparisons. I will definitely be using your affiliate links!
I just found your channel and I enjoyed it immensely. You definitely earned my subscription today. Looking forward to exploring your other videos and all upcoming videos. I really learned a lot from this video and your style of presentation was so refreshing.
As an artist restarting my career I found this video really helpful. I only have a couple items to sell on a store right now and its been really difficult to find and understand what platform works best for that. I don't feel like I need all the templates and design stuff or a huge storefront. Hadn't heard of carrd before but I like the price and simplicity. Hopefully a stripe or paypal widget can get me where I want. Would love a video on it.
I think that's you're approaching it so smartly - start with something simple and low-price like Carrd and just use a Stripe widget. You can always get more complicated if you need!
Great video! I wanted to touch base on Shopify - It does have a bit more customization than you stated. When customizing you can create templates for other types of pages. So instead of just editing the home page layout, you can create product specific templates, or collection templates, and then connect those afterward. This gives you a lot more options in terms of customization.
Steve, I thought your explanation of the difference between these website builders and WP was crystal clear, and I couldn’t agree with you more. For a simple guy like myself who is just trying to build a simple website for my humble tea business with no prior website building experience, this video really hit home for me. I would love to do a total custom build and make a spectacular website via WP, but then how to make it a blog with ecommerce functioning? How to connect payment options? How to ensure it’s all secure? How to keep it all updated? How to make it responsive? How to figure out shipping and taxes that change? …you get my point. And I definitely get yours. All of that is learnable and doable through WP I’m sure. But do I want to spend the time to become a website building expert, or do I want a functioning website with all that essentially taken care of so I can focus on the business.
Watching your reviews makes me feel so attached to watching more, the way you break down things for better understanding is top-notch, I been watching you for quite some time now, and I enjoy your videos, Keep providing us with the best.. Good luck, am still building my channel and page, and I hope it gets closer to teaching soon.
Thank you Steve for sharing with a balance of clarity and brevity. Also for exposing the existance of Carrd. Many of my questions were answered across products.
To put Wordpress more in "website builder" territory, you need to add a builder theme like Divi or Elementor. With those, Wordpress becomes much more user friendly and builder-like.
I learn wonderfully by your teaching style. No overly enthusiastic energy which would give me anxiety. I'm taking over my husband's web site and exiting GoDadddy and WordPress. Screw that mess. Re: your bookshelf. I organize my husband's golf shirts mimicking the pattern of the color wheel. Rainbows of everything golf. Short, long, slacks separated and color coded. It's so pretty. He gets his clothes from his sponsors. What's wrong with us? We are brilliant and have Asperger's. My husband says not to worry, it's just "dingleberries."
Very informative video, of all the videos I've seen on the subject, (more than 200), this is one if not the best one, your very well timed brief demo of each web builder and wordpress, combined with your stellar cinematography and camerachanges, and including the price comparison of each option makes this video an excellent piece of information for those looking to learn wich website builder to choose, well done💯
Thanks Steve. What about the differences in payment processing when adding a shop to your site? (and associated costs of THOSE) Say for example am I right in saying that Wix can link up with SumUp, but Squarespace can't. So I might choose Wix because of that - since in design style they're both decent. Can you outline the differences from that point of view please? Many thanks.
Can you link a Carrd landing page to another Carrd landing page? If I wnated to use the first landing page to interduce my catering company and the second page with a menu and how to reach, can I do this?
What website builder would you recommend, if I only want a simple website that will be about one database and options for the user to search in it or search for results most similar to what he entered?
I love Carrd and my customers too. And yes we can build a simple multi page website with Carrd and it is cheap even the most expensive plan. It definitely worth.
Not clear how this is related to the web host one is using. Suppose I want to build a web page using the host Hostinger, or Bluehost, or whatever. How do I know whether I can use any of these? If I start with any of these web builders, how does this constrain me to use certain web hosts? It's like you're talking about a separate universe here.
I keep asking this same question, and am getting NO answers anywhere... Seems the ONLY software for this is either $50-$1200/mo creation platforms like Adobe DW for ultra professional web presences, or free useless software that is no better than manually coding a single page. I already HAVE a domain and hosting service, so WHERE the heck to I get a WYSIWYG program to create a site without knowing Java, JSON, CMS and CSS??? I don't have time to learn this, I have a business to run...
Hello ! May I ask what software you use to create the motion effects in tutorials (zooms in and out of the screen, screens popping in and out of the video, etc) ? Thanks !
This was very helpful. Thanks. What are your thoughts on some of Adobe's web builder apps like Dreamweaver? How does DW compare to the apps you mentioned in the video?
your videos are so so helpful! love how well you explained things - and mentioned your personal take on each of them backed up with real actual experience than just getting info from website builder’s site. in the future, would you be keen to share more about Square now that they offer sites too? 😊
Thank you mordeczko for mentioning carrd! I like the prices there and don't need a huge site. One page is enough. At this price? I don't need to write much about myself at all. I guess...
I want to build a website and I really like square-space, but I'm kinda confused still, Do i use Square-space to build my website, then who do I use to host said website?
Website vet, tired of CMS platform becoming over complicated and forever in need of updates. Reading between the lines, it seems that you'll go to Webflow before any others. Am I right?
You dont mention the issue that website builders have that is trying to transfer your site to another provider. Its as difficult as hell and is so cumbersome as to be not worth the effort. Also if you register your domain through them its even worse!
Are there any tools left that let you develop your site locally and the upload to your hosting and don't have to pay monthly fee, just one time software tool price?
I think some websites are fillered when they repeat the same few paragraphs over multiple pages. If your service/product is simple then why can't your website be? The content seems tailored when under a different heading but is really just copy/pasted.
I think they have changed carrd. Not a fan- I like to use my own graphics and I couldn't figure out how. It wasn't easy choosing font or other colors. I am a super fan of creating with PowerPoint. Any suggestions as to any sites that simulate it?
Squarespace is my favourite but I actually currently have sites on Squarespace, Webflow, Shopify and Carrd - I try to match the tool to the website. Less of a fan of Wix but I recognize other people like it 👍
Hello Steve, thank you for this video, could you do a specific episode that discusses the best platform/plugins/extensions for small private practices like massage therapy. Essential components of a private practice website include considerations from scheduling to intake forms, SOAP Notes, patient portfolios, payment systems, etc. Thanks!
Hi, I need to build a consultancy website, basically I deliver a documents few days after the purchase of the client. So I need a digital product page, a payment system and email marketing automation. What platform do you reccommend? thank you for your time and help :)
The website builders:
• Squarespace - squarespace.syuh.net/PyoJkz
• Wix - wixstats.com/?a=780&oc=33&c=124&s1=
• Shopify - shopify.pxf.io/xkBVb5
• Webflow - try.webflow.com/sbr
• Carrd - try.carrd.co/r2x1byk2
You space your speech well. Your pause is perfect. You also speak very clearly and gracefully.
Thank you - I really appreciate you taking the time to say so :)
Just discovered your stuff Steve. Honestly so refreshing to watch something on the topic of web builders that's not clearly paid for. This space can be really challenging to get honest opinions.
"You should aim to have less on your website," is the phrase I'd stick to. Thanks for comparison.

Wow, thank you! That’s encouraging to hear 😊😊
Webflow has the best of both worlds. There's a learning curve, but once you have the basics, the creativity will flow.
Well said 👍
It's too expensive for international language sites.
Webflow and framer would be the best in upcoming years.
Wix Studio is pretty much like that also
@@syedHabib-c3p Framer is the best IMHO
