Visual Glitch? No Asinine Mortal! That was the Chaos Gods gracing you with their presence! Bow to their unchallenged might as you entertain them with your "replays"!! HAIL CHAOS!!
darkblood626 Believe it! T'char is how we refer to him in the wilds. There's even been a Doombull and his minotaur herd dedicated to the changer of Ways who gifted them with pyromantic magic!
My first vanilla campaign for the Wood Elves felt so unsatisfying, with weak dragons, weak elf lords and weak waystalkers. So thanks Indy for showing me how good this mod was for the Wood Elves way back, and thanks again to the mod makers of Steel Faith. I've been play testing as many other units and races as i can, and all of them so far, match their unit descriptions or how you think they should play, especially the elites. Vanilla units for the most part feel so bad in comparison it feels lore breaking. Shadow dancers are great too. You can now see the awesome kill animation more often, where they stab, jump on their spear, and back flip pulling the spear out.
Your enthusiasm for Warhammer is so cool. Yours and Grey Hunter's lore videos got me into this shit and it has gotten so bad i have all but forgotten the ASOIAF subreddit and instead buried myself in the Black library. It's all cheese and fluff, but it's the BEST kind! I want to love 40k and I recognize the universe and especially the lore of the universe is immense.. but readind the novels it all feels.. abstract. So many references to guns, armor and tech that the authors just expect the audience to know.
Yeah as with Warhammer fantasy I suggest reading up the basics on the Warhammer 40k Wiki before delving into any of the novels. I did that before reading the Inquisitor Eisenhorn omnibus and it was definitely a good decision. I actually like 40k lore a bit more because its so dark and on such a gigantic, galactic scale, and space has always been so incredibly interesting to me. But it doesnt quite have the lovable cheese and fluffiness that Warhammer Fantasy has, there's just an X factor that Fantasy has that's hard to describe but makes it incredibly enjoyable IMO. I'm glad you enjoy my videos, plenty more coming :)
Man I am a complete and utter noob to both total war and warhammer, but your videos make me want to know so much more about what the hell this universe is, beacuse so far it looks fucking awesome. If anyone feels like teaching me what this is let me know lol
Hey Indy!! I love your channel, especially those lore videos. Keep up your amazing work! I was wondering which game 2 faction are you gonna first play with. I can't made up my mind about it. They all looks freaking awesome.
Indypride, what do you think about the outcriers who thinks SFO is turning into Radious with all of the "unwanted" additional units it has been adding? Do you think there are some unnecessary additions to the mod as well?
my personal opinion is: As long as the units have a role on thefield and the units are either from TT or from Lore (and, for example, never been given a model) I'm fine with that... there are, for example, so many nice units for the Empire: Carroburg Greatswords, Altdorf Company of Honor, Hochland Long Rifles, the Knights of Morr... heck the different Variations of the Steam Tanks would be awesome if the models could be properly edited... Heroes? Markus Wulfhart and Ludwig Schwarzhelm would be nice... the Reiksmarshal Kurt Helborg also is still missing from the game...
Those people haven't actually played our mod thoroughly, and don't have an in-depth experience with the lore as they might think I would guess. The units we add do not replace any previous tiers of units, and instead, compliment other units and fill new roles for their armies - SFO strives to make every unit be valuable or have a role to play in their armies, like in lore and TT. Secondly, these units come directly from various Table-Top Army Book editions, novels, or GW approved content.
@Steel*Faith Can you provide some lore for Eternal Wardens and Wildwood Wardens? as under sad I don't really mind if a model doesn't exist if it fits the lore but I can't understand this two unit... They have a really high armor value for a wood elf (in the 6th edition WE had only light armor if I remember) and from a WE ambusher I would expect a bow not a great sword. This is not a critic, I just like to know more about the lore since I've played only 6th edition of the TT and the PnP RPG but I haven't read any book or did a deep research.
For quick reference, you can find the units mentioned in the WE 8th Edition Army Book. Both units are sergeant type units that lead Wildwood Rangers, or Eternal Guard. Their armor values are not higher than some of the other WE units in the army. Aside from simply providing encouragement, we did some more unique things with their gameplay to make them more fleshed out units. As more assets and dlc is released, we are able to go back and edit and improve existing content and our custom made units - for now we work with some limitations. www.games-workshop.com/resources/catalog/product/600x620/99120204008_EternalGuard02.jpg Eternal Warden www.games-workshop.com/resources/catalog/product/600x620/99120204008_WildwoodRanger360.jpg Wildwood Warden
I think there were some good counter arguments to the inclusion of Bretonnian Crossbow and Dismounted Knight units. And I think it is important to not just add units for the sake of adding units, and that it can bloat rosters unnecessarily and hurt asymmetry between the factions. But no, I do not think SFO is turning into Radious, and I think the majority of the new units have been logical and flavorful additions with no adverse effect on gameplay. I can understand why some people want basic SFO without any of these new units though, but probably a lot easier said than done
1:47 that puppies on the middle said to other puppies: " you know sometimes this world always made me to kill myself " Other puppies beside him " well you already became followers of plague father deal with it" The puppy responded "Aaaaarrrgggghhh!!! why i made this descision!"Lol.
I don't play multiplayer or anything but i had to turn off SFO because regen just felt way too strong imo, if anything i wish i could just get the changes to magic and artillery. I may be wrong but look at the health of those nurgle beastmen at the end of the fight, seems very high
Have you noticed that the Wardancers with spears and the Shadowdancers are the only units so far (at least I couldnt find any other) that have a matched combat animation against other infantry? I´ve only seen it against Empire state troops, but maybe it works on other infantry as well. But try it out yourself if you want, let a unit of Shadowdancers fight against Empire swordsmen, and you see quite a lot of these animations ;)
Nope I dont use any camera mods for replays, I use debug camera when I play. You can changed to debug in your preferences script, quite easy to do, there are lots of tutorials for it
Not all Tree spirits are Elven souls though. There are some that predate the Elves by a large margin, that were already ancient when the Great Catastrophe struck
I thought so too until I looked into the lore and found out they are the spirits of dead elves. Specifically the wood elves who both had a abnormally strong affinity with the forest and an equally strong will to survive.
Perhaps on this map because its so chokepointy and easy to defend your flanks. But on open field maps, ranged units against Beastmen are an EXTREMELY risky proposition, as Centigors and Warhounds and now Slaangors can very easily run down and slaughter missile units
I understand a lot of people like SFO, but watching how it plays makes me grateful that CA chose some restraint when they implemented magic. At the end of the day, I still want to be playing a Total War game, and I want my units to be doing the heavy lifting. I'm perfectly happy with magic playing a supporting role.
I definitely get what you're saying, but in the vast majority of my SFO battles its still been the clash of units, not magic, that plays a far bigger role in who wins. Spellsinger got 220 kills this game, but on chaff, basically killed half of 2 units of Ungors. On smaller battle sizes, it can definitely be too strong for just point and click damage abilities. But thats why SFO "default" funds, unit size, and unit cap are significantly higher than vanilla, so magic can play a powerful role but not singlehandedly win games. My biggest problem with SFO, and frankly Total War in general, is that army compositions are just so massively important, that even great micro often isnt enough to overcome if the matchup is bad
Be sure to check out the SFO multiplayer discord if you want to find lobbies and play some games with the gang! - discord.gg/cF7FjKw
#justscarycowthings lol
You should have said and this is Bob the giant very very dangerous
So Slaangors are the gym rats of the Beastmen?
"GAINS FOR SLAANESH"
4:35 f*cking spear
* got another spear throw from orion *
SFO mod, fuck yeah, I can no longer imagine my campaign without it. Longer battles, tougher chaos invasions, and relatively smarter AI recruitment.
Visual Glitch? No Asinine Mortal! That was the Chaos Gods gracing you with their presence! Bow to their unchallenged might as you entertain them with your "replays"!! HAIL CHAOS!!
Legendary intro, epic battles, awesome units... Just had a nerdgasm
I’m having a hard time imagining a beast man follower of Tzeentch
They exist! In the lore and in Tabletop, although I think in 8th edition Beastmen could only be given Chaos marks once the End Times ruleset dropped
darkblood626 Believe it! T'char is how we refer to him in the wilds. There's even been a Doombull and his minotaur herd dedicated to the changer of Ways who gifted them with pyromantic magic!
Beastmen kinda are change incarnate. They are living breathing monuments to changing and warping something into something completely different.
darkblood626 Beastmen had marks back in 6th but for some reason never got it in 7th and 8th.
The background music and the smooth shots of Elven elites marching towards the camera in the first minute was badass af
I love those intros man, there epic as fuck
agreed
Thanks :D
Awsome video as always man. Love your focus on all the badass mods for the game
6:57 IM DEAD YOU CAN HEAR DUEL OF FATES WHEN HE ZOOMS ON ORION V MORGHUR
*Duel of fates starts playing as Orion and Morghur fight it out*
And this is one of the many reasons I love you Indy.
Loved that little Star Wars music love on Malagor vs Orion
So pumped about getting my PC. This is gonna be one of the first games I get.
Great battle, the Doombull model looks really nice!
Yeah pretty intimidating! Really hope CA decides to give us a real base game version at some point ;P
I forget how great those Asrai models look
Yeah the Treemen specifically are some of the best work Creative Assembly have ever done IMO
finally.I have been waiting for this. Thanks Indy :)
Sure thing :)

Got to love an indypride SFO video.
Awesome battle indy, loved the intro!
Thanks glad to hear it!

I really like watching replays of this mod, more, bring moooore ;D
I really enjoyed this, hope you'll do more of these! Maybe try out Ultimate Chaos next,Turin did maybe you can play it against him!
This is probably totally in appropriate, but the Slaangors are kinda sexy. They look like they're ready for beach season
Man I am a complete and utter noob to both total war and warhammer, but your videos make me want to know so much more about what the hell this universe is, beacuse so far it looks fucking awesome. If anyone feels like teaching me what this is let me know lol
Very good looking video and masterfully edited and commented.
Thanks man happy you enjoyed it

anyone else laugh when doombull got shot in the face near the beginning?
I don't know if I like slaaneshi goats :D
But love does lore intro's :)
For Athel Loren!
I think they really nailed that WE campaign map music.
Yeah some of it is really good
Yeah, I find some of the battle music a little lackluster but on the campaign map is where it shines imo.

Beastmen of Corn?

Looked like the beastmen actually out-skirmished the woodelves which is weird. Is it elves or elfs? I never know

I'll try it out, I hadnt noticed
lol nice duel of the fates edit
I love the woodelves!
Arent they called wildwood rangers?
Wildwood Wardens are captains/elite Wildwood Rangers
Whichever soundtrack you used for the intro.... It fit really well!
Imagine that haha - th-cam.com/video/6ONObuY61uo/w-d-xo.html
From the Realm of the Wood Elves OST ;P
How many of the new units are lore friendly/in the tabletop?
Every unit in this video is from lore and/or tabletop
No archers for the wood elves? Leggo would be disgusted.
Very risky proposition against Beastmen, hard to defend them against so many fast movers. Can confirm that meself ;P
Would love to play SFO but unfortunately I must have a mod that doesn't work together with it :(
Which mod is that?
Hey Cookie or anyone is their a pike units in warhammer? like etc spartas pikes :D? why only spears
Dogs of War have pikes, and the city of Nuln uses Pikemen as well
oh ok cool :)
Do you have the better camera mod on for this?
Nope I dont use any camera mods for replays, I use debug camera when I play. You can changed to debug in your preferences script, quite easy to do, there are lots of tutorials for it
Thanks man! Love the replays
Glad to hear it :)
4:34 It's fucking hilarious how you keep giving your dry assessment while ignoring that Bray Shaman getting pwned over and over!
What souls become tree spirits? Are they dead elves or are they daemons?
elves
William Hites no, they are tree deamons.
Not all Tree spirits are Elven souls though. There are some that predate the Elves by a large margin, that were already ancient when the Great Catastrophe struck
I thought so too until I looked into the lore and found out they are the spirits of dead elves. Specifically the wood elves who both had a abnormally strong affinity with the forest and an equally strong will to survive.
ok, but some tree kin were elves.
Never knew that Steel Faith is a modder, always thought it was the name of the mod or had something to do with the lore or something... well, TIL
Its both. Thats why we just call him Steel :).
Beastmen have Tzeench, Slaanesh, and Nurgle
wheres khorn
Khornebull wasn't very khorney. He needs more armour and redder color.
yesss boys!
:)
S.F.O
wood elves with no archers... wut
WE army with no ranged units?
Big mistake it seems.

Jesus, didn't realize they had such high move speed to be able to run down SFO WE.
Gonna have to fire up the ol' Beastmen campaign again it seems.
#JustScaryCowThings
The permanent moving of the viewing perspective is quite annoying, sadly.
This is a very old video, camera work is much better in more recent videos

Ca must improve game mechanica
I agree there is much room for improvement, which game mechanics do you want them to improve?
so indy you prepared to lose all you're money from this video because you played 5 seconds of john williams music?
skirmish fast play totalwar.
When can lot of players want a lot, a reall """"massive battle""""" systeme ?
