- In this epic Total War Warhammer 2 custom scenario on Steel Faith Overhaul, the Last Elven Alliance makes its stand against the Undead Hordes of Nagash in a Battle of the End Times. This is Subcommanders, where each player control a section and archetype of the entire force, and makes for some very exciting gameplay! Wood Elves, High Elves, and Dark Elves face off against the Vampire Counts, Vampire Coast, and Tomb Kings of Nagash!

Ahh yes, Orions spear-chucking fatality animation. Wood Elves was such a well done DLC.
Unit-wise, yeah! Campaign wise.. Not so much.

I'm not sure where the sub commanders game mode comes from but the main mod in use here is SFO (steel faith overhaul mod). Thats what gives the unique units and change to gameplay to be more in keeping with the lore (although the power levels of some units becomes ridiculous.) You can find it on the steam workshop.
I liked the crabs.
You're in luck then as you don't even need a mod to use them in the main game. (Although you will need to download the vampire coast dlc to unlock them.)

End Times becomes one-sided in the side of Chaos
-Nagash' Army is weaker with the deaths of Arkhan and Mannfred
-Nagash won't side with the Incarnates
-Sigmar has to kill Nagash but is wounded in the process
-Ka'Bandha kills two of the Incarnates
-With both Nagash and Gelt dead, the Third Warp Gate activates
-Archaon kills a wounded Sigmar
Christian Dauz Nah soz to disagree mate but actually the most likely scenario is skarsnik defeats the Archeon the Ever-Chosen, Sigmar and Khaine and conquers the Old world in a tide of green gobbos. I mean what chance do they have against his pointy cap and his prodding rod?

Shame about Arkhan though. He was actually decent. If only this battle would make Nagash realize that the chaos baddies are quite dangerous and that people are not too pleased to be raised.
That the chaos baddies are being raised and used to fight other chaos baddies... well a deal could be made.

Lore-wise, the High Elves and Dark Elves should have exterminated each other in End Times
Mannfred would have never work together with Arkhan to revive Nagash (Resulting in one of the two killing the other)
Krell could not betray Heinrich Kemmler due to both being pawns of the Chaos Gods and both would have weakened the Vampire Counts and the Empire to prepare for the Chaos Invasion
Karanok the Black (Kholek's more powerful father) would have been summoned to kill many of the Empire's Heroes
Tzeentch Cultists would have staged rebellions in Ind and Cathay
Chaos Dwarves and Skaven combined their dark magics and dark technology to create the Fantasy version of the Iron Men!
Once you are corrupted, the Chaos Gods own your soul. I don't think Nagash can use necromancy on their corpses (More likely that the corrupted energies within those corpses would hurt Nagash if he tried to do something like that)
Skaven and the Changeling could have reignited the War of the Beard or the Crusades!
What I really love with these battles is the little lore and hints you do while describing the armies. Thanks you so much!

Brettonian cav, dwarf infantry and empire guns or wood elves as archers with Orions new horn that makes their charge bonus stupid high. Or replace the dwarves with greenskins and use waaagh and orions horn on the charge, there probably wouldnt exist a unit strong enough to endure that.

My computer can run it pretty smooth and its not a gaming computer all i have to is restart my pc and start the game emiedietly so that is the only thing it is processing.
Also i use a office laptop. It cant run rainbow six seige at all but it can run this.

That was epic as hell to watch and must have been a lot of fun to play too. Sub commanders really strikes the perfect medium of thematic battles mixed with competent strategizing. Throw in the sfo mod to boot and you get insane battles like these!

This is absolutely amazing. Maybe if the teams got more experience you can make a battle without melee substitute units for the ranged commanders. Would be way harder but perhaps more rewarding. As brilliant and beautiful as these cinematic shots are and as necessary the overview is I would love to see and especially hear you play this live. How you communicate and plan with your team ideally even starting at the army composition.
Anyway no matter how exactly I would love to see more sub-commanders!

Oh my god! I suggested this exact scenario (the three elven factions vs the three undead factions) like two weeks ago and had no idea it was going to happen, though it seems somewhat unlikely that it was just my suggestion, and it likely was in the works already/ has some base in lore, I'm still massively pumped.

Very much liked the themed battle, and it is great to see a contest that demands coordination - thank you. You narrate this competition as if it were a single person running each side. Hey, don' get me wrong, you do it well and I loved it. But it would also be interesting to see the battle through the eyes of one of the participants. For example, as the wood elves, what were your objectives, what were you reacting to, what did you do well and how would you have changed your decisions? How did your 2 others players support you / fail to support you and what pressure was coming in from the undead that you reacted to? Just a quick thought, I really enjoyed this competition and thank you for posting it and your other 5 for running it

Ideas for best faction combos? I'd say, Dwarves, Bretonnia and Dark Elves.
Tomb Kings don't 'crumble' when they reach 0 leadership in SFO, they just have nerfed combat stats
Also this game felt like too many archers and not enough cavalry or monsters :/ infantry just got killed by each other and then it came down to archers shooting monsters to bits, not very interesting strategically; but I suppose there was also fun stuff going on the flanks that you couldn't all cover at once.
But it is cool to see such big battles!

Does any one know what he uses for the cinematic scenes? For example does he use gem fx, or some other camera mods, for zoomed in shots and other scenes.
i dont use any graphical or camera mods. I do occasionally use Debug camera, which you can get by changing a numerical value in your preferences script. Very easy, lots of tutorials for that on Google

I absolutely love the sub Commanders game. Kind of like Total War Arena. I just wish they had a Warhammer version. 10 people get three troops each and team up against another group of 10 people.
I would like to see this on a smaller more elite scale. Strictly, one group has 4 units of Cavalry and one mounted General, the next has 4 and one ranged units, the next has four and one Infantry.

The one thing I didn't hate about the end times was that beautiful novel called the fall of altdorf
We need a team tournament for subcommanders. We already have the Everchosen, now we can have the Everchosen's Retinue. Get a bunch of youtubers and high tier players and form teams like a DOTA or LoL tournament. Get Turin and Italian to cast that and I'll be set for a weekend of Warhammer goodness.
