    hey just trying to help-- use rubber fuel line pieces in your clamps to protect the lines from vibrating in the clamps. also, dont let the hard lines rest on any bolts or rivets. vibration can rub a hole in your hard lines. also where your flex lines meet the hard lines at the AN fittings, spread them open so they dont rub on each other. also on the fuel filter, fab up a bracket and use a big hose clamp to isolate it from vibrating. it can cause the hard lines to fatigue and spring a leak. great videos and i like what you are doing, keep posting up as you can. thanks

    No, I'm using a Spectra sending unit that has a "flying lead" for ground to chassis and a two pin connector for power to pump (grey wire) and fuel level sending unit (purple wire). It's the mating connector for this that I'm having problem locating.

    • @LonniesGarage
      @LonniesGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a walbro 255 in tank pump. The sending unit and tank is for an 87 r10 pickup. It’s the first year they did fuel injection. The tank has a little sump in the bottom of it that lets the fuel pump sit in so the gas doesn’t leave it when stopping or turning or taking off

  • @emmanueldotrey3607
    @emmanueldotrey3607 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Lonnie my walbro fuel pump came with spade type connectors and the r10 fuel pump had small square plugs no way to plug and play did you have to wires and connect them to the inside plug and I'd like to thank you for all of your very helpful videos sir.

    • @LonniesGarage

    NEED SOME HELP. I hired a guy to drop an LS 5.3 into my 84 C10. After 7 months i took it back. Engine was in but nothing else was put together correctly. There was a leak in one of the tanks so I replaced both tanks, with new sending units. I also sprung for a new selector valve. The original sending units were three ports. The new sending units are also 3 ports. I found good diagrams on how to connect the supply and return lines to the selector valve. Two questions. 1. what to I do with the vapor lines coming out of both sending units? Diagrams are hard to find for those. 2. Is one fuel pump, between the selector valve and engine enough? Thanks in advance.

    • @LonniesGarage
      @LonniesGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      1st questions answer. You can run a small hose from the vent lines and add a small filter on the end. Just place it somewhere out of the way.
      2nd questions answer. It will cost a lil more but I would use the 87 sending unint and tank. It has a baffle in the bottom of the tank to help the fuel from leaving the pump. I would run a couple walbro 255 intank pumps.

    hey Lonnie i am a bodyman/painter guy and had a couple paint job ideas to share. if you are not after a really nice paint job. first i have done some with 6 in foam rollers and rustoleum in a quart can. second did 3 cars with www.montana-cans.com/en/spray-cans/ the black and gold lines are easy to work with. best to do these early on a morning , it will help cut down on striping from the spray patterns. they are high solids and cover really well. a six pack of cans is about 50 bux. any color you want, check out their color charts. they also have jumbo size flat black cans too . if the cans dont spray well, warm them in a bucket of hot water first. they also have spray caps from pencil width to baseball.

    • @LonniesGarage

      No. If I'm correct they only produced like 15 or 16 psi and then it was regulated down some. You can check to see if your tank has the baffled bottom and if so replace your fuel pump with a walbro 255 or a walbro 400
