I know right this video is great. It would have taken forever to figure all this out. But like I said, right out of the box, it works pretty well. And I am using that stupid hat clip, which is not bad, but I need to get some new gaming PC head phones so I can use the clip track pro.
Excellent tutorial Jabbers. 👌 I started out with an IR3 back in 99. Moved up to an IR4 in 2005 and then got the IR5 software to use with the 4 with only the hat clip. So now I've bought a IR5 with the 3 light clip and I'm just getting it going. All these years I've had no problems. Install and run and everything working fine as is. 2 weeks ago the problems started. Just couldn't get it working properly. I decided to search TH-cam and found you. What an enlightenment. I had no idea to properly set a Tracker IR. They supply nothing to setup properly. You have saved the day. Now I know what to do to use it with SCS' American Truck Simulator without the 6DOF and my flight sims with 6DOF. Thank you so much. 👍
Just got the new IR5 with the head attachment. I felt best to watch a competent individual before I attempt to mess. All the compilations up😢 You were very thorough. I have a brand new IR5 with also the headset piece. No way I was going to wear a ball cap. About 3 hours. It takes some getting used to from VR to IR that's for sure cuz I had my swivel on the hat switch to have some situational awareness. Big difference but the receiver seems to be getting a little warm. Not hot. Just a little warm. The one on top of the monitor and I did something with the zoom because I can move in a little bit and see everything real close. Kind of good for my eyes. But when I back off I can't see everything in the hud so I just pressed the f12 recenter it's all right. The setup was really close but some things were a little different on the new. I don't know version or maybe I did not broaden out the settings. Set up real good. Only have 132-in monitor but I seen your second one below you. So you're looking at the cockpit at all times. Very good for the f-18 definitely will go that direction, but it seems that I might have a better perspective if I added two more frameless monitors on the side. Idk but thank you so much. It's up and running and I totally qualify. The f-18 legacy now being that everybody's in the eagles and I'm amazing man. But to join up with the rest, I'm going to learn the f-15 until the strike eagle comes out. I got a pre-purchase on that. Hope to see you soon. One day per se. aka Rags. Thank you again

Hello Jabber, I figured it out. 1 I use triple monitors, it works beautifully. For any other users, trackir is setup on center monitor, after setup go to titles, find the games youare to play following jabbers instruction. once yoour game starts, TrackIR will work. As a former Student pilot, TrackIR and Iguess VR are game changers. I WILL NOT go back. Thanks Jabber
As a brand new player just getting to DCs this is very helpful and turned my Ir headset from something unusable to passable in about 30 minutes while watching your video....going to have to keep tweaking a few sensitivities but I'm sure that's more just fine tuning as i notice them.. Got my like and sub for this video keep up the good work
This helped me _MASSIVELY!_ I just got my TrackIR 5 yesterday, and I had what I _thought_ was a decent profile. I'm using my TrackIR for Elite: Dangerous, so I only need to be able turn and tilt my head 90° in game. I'm using a 40" 1080p TV that I'm sat about 5 feet away from. The camera sits a fair bit above my field of view from the sofa, and I never once thought to tilt the Track Clip Pro upwards on my headset. It's still a bit wonky (I presume from both the distance and angle), but it performs pretty decently, all things considered. Really good tips; I did not have the camera situated optimally, still don't (not quite, anyway, but it's miles better than it was when I initially set it up, thanks to your video. Many thanks for your insights.
Dude, your awesome. I knew when I bought the Track IR 5 it would be kinda hard to setup for DCS. This video rocks. I just got Track IR 5 today and just flew my F/A-18 C right out of the box, it works pretty good. But it has jitters so thanks, this should make it smooth. But yeah, it takes a little getting used too. I just like how I can look at my MFD/DDI really close and set things up. Track IR 5 rocks. It works better than I thought it would. Not having to use the mouse to look around my cockpit is so great.
GREAT JOB! Just installed mine and it's now setup well enough to start playing. I'm using TrackIR 5 and I don't see the 3 red dots, just a green reticle. You earned a Like, a Sub and a Thank You!
Bruh. I never realized just how bad my TrackIR profile was until I watched this and actually learned what I was doing. Over a year and a half of using the pro clip and my setting as a one-stop-shop for all my games like IL2, DCS, Truck Simulator, ArmA, F1 and Train Simulator, and thought "it's good enough, it works", but damn I was wrong. Definitely improved the profiles and less fatiguing on the eyes. And it never occurred to me to offset the IR camera as I left it in the middle from when I first used TrackIR with the hat clip🤦🏼♂️
Thank you for this video. I've been fighting with DCS and the snappy head movements that was making finding controls in an already intense simulator very difficult for me on the default setting. Now I can smoothly move my head/zoom to see the panels I need to to without ending up looking at the floor or at my engines!
Thanks for this. The best tip you gave was to see what you wanted at the angle you look, e.g. behind view looking at the screen edge, front view at the screen middle. My tip is to switch off all other degrees of freedom except the one you are setting up (untick the checkboxes of these).
Hello. Just wanted to say a quick thank you. I am returning to pc after many years absence and my setup here see’s me much further from the monitor than I used to be. I never had to look at tracker settings, because they just worked. Which was lucky as I’m not at all technically adept. My new position though, messed tracker right up. I won’t claim to fully understand all aspects covered in your vid, (I’d have to watch it multiple times) but just following along has lent me a basic idea of it and my tracker setup is now fit for purpose again. :)
Excellent video, just what I was looking for and very professionally explained! I was considering a VR headset, but they're very expensive by comparison to TrackIR and I'm not sure I want my face enclosed by a VR headset for long periods. I know that TrackIR isn't an equivalent to VR, but it does still provide an alternative method of looking around the cockpit, which brings a level of immersion otherwise missing and for a lot less cost! Thank you very much! Just getting back to DCS after getting 3080 + TrackIR and greasing the base. Didnt check what was the bottleneck, but got 90fps avg in caucasus free flight 1440p. Was thinking about a 49" curved super ultra wide, but looks like some research should be made, as it would serve its purpose in DCS only. With TrackIR!

Exactly what I was looking for. Just got mine today and while it certainly is working (MSFS 2020) it absolutely needs to be fine tuned.
