yea they've made both types of snowskate as long as I remember... I got a single deck wooden premier back in 04 it looks just like the ambition SS and I just bought studded grip for it ... it still is awesome but yea the double deckers are better for icey conditions or big slopes but both types need to be waxed and aren't easy to ride

The earliest snowboards without bindings were around since 1965, literally when the snowboard we know now was invented pretty much. And honestly, people have been gliding around on pieces of wood on snow since forever. It's ancient stuff really.

Do you need that ski/blade thing at the bottom of the deck? Because I can't find any other snowskate that has it, there is only a deck with groves. So if I am going downhill, will just the deck be okay?
The ones for resort riding have the skis. They are making them bigger more like longboards. Lib Tech and Hovland make snowskates with skis. The ones with out a ski are single layer and the ones with skis are double layer. The double layer snow skates are better for downhill. The single layers are great for tricks and urban stuff.

I really miss an indoor place in Paris :( Great you found a place to team and rent. Impossible in Paris.. to expensive. Crazy that in a city like Paris we do not have a skate hall. You guys should put some banks or tiny quarters to the wall. So much more convenient to turn :)

I got a Burton junkyard snow skate deck and I have an ambition snow skate also I think ambition did snow skates better than Burton but I do love everything that burton dose
I have one of those snow skateboards, same style, and I love it! I actually like it better than the popular Ambition snow skateboard style. The one issue, though, is that it's like riding really narrow trucks XD Would have been nice to see you bomb a hill!
those type of snoskate are best at ski hills on the slopes going down a run. you can get on a ski lift you get off the chair like a tail drop search snowskate myth busters for info on how to get off the chairlift..
you can use it for street too (stairs sets, gaps, etc), like you can street snowboard. on the opposite, you can't ride a singledeck on slopes. But if you just ride on flat, it's probably just "practice". Even for the singledeck, nobody will skate flat spots except for practicing.
