Thanks LY. I got a Topo 37 last winter and it blew my mind. Strapless is so much fun on snow and you are 100% right it makes those green and blue runs exciting again. I can't wait to get out again this winter. Our local mountain opens 8 Dec 2023.
ok, this is awesome, I looked for instructions to treat my old skateboards. So the water wont kill them.. but now I found this and I want one! :D (unfortunatly where I live it has like 3 days snow per year..
I'm confused about the naming of this product. There seems to be two types of snowskates; one with a ski underneath (more like a snowboard) and one without (more like a skateboard). Anyway, it looks awesome it might be what I will ride on my next trip.
There are Bi-level Snowskates with the sub-deck (ski) underneath and flat deck snow skates. Bi-levels give you the most control when riding down hills and mountains. The metal edge allows you to carve and corner. Flat decks are for doing tricks and mostly going in straight lines.
These bi-level snowskates you can turn and carve to make your way down a hill ski run with good speed. The single deck boards are mainly for going straight and doing tricks
Hey yall - big mountain snowskater here and I have been fiending to get my hands on a mckinski(?) Or something like it - your boards are legendary among snowskaters but it looks like you stopped making the bigger subs..? Please please please bring back the big all mountain decks I will be a loyal buyer for life, they looked so sexy and I trust the homies who swear up and down by them!!!
Question, why do snowboards have all the things they do and require you to lock into it if it can be done like this? howcome these don't require that stuff that snowboards require?
The bi level boards are better for runs at the ski resort or carving big mountains and the single decks may be better in city situations and doing flip tricks
Every resort is different. Some make you wear a strap around your foot when on the chairlift. If you're unsure check their website or ask ski patrol. @@LYSnow Thanks so much. Just took up longboard dance this summer and saw this and was like well that looks like longboarding on snow. i snowboard but something about this looks super fun. it looks more free.
There is alot of hills in Ontario that allows them. Camp fortune is hill I go to and see alot of them. Alot of hills in Ontario share the same insurance policy, so its a matter of management being cool or not.
well you may diy it but would you diy a snowboard? many times you pay for conviniance and diy might fail and all money into project is lost hovland snowskate ram, buckshot is great i tested them both ram is trick setup but buckshot is great for freeriding also about old ski its not a normal old ski its a wide skiyou could maby use a wide kid powderski if it exist
All kinds of footwear. Hiking boots, Winter boots, snowboard boots, skate shoes with bags over socks. W recommend something with a little ankle support if you're taking it to the resort
quite nice from what i've seen. pretty flexy but wheelbases aren't that short. grip was surprisingly nice. topdecks are also decet but could have some bigger or steeper kicks for my taste.
its way diffrent form snowboarding trust me normally i can ride a board from local chairlift in 15 minutes but on hovland ram snowskate it takes half houre so big hills just got much bigger snowskate is cool but if im not alowed to ride it then i cant :( sadly i feel snowskate is beginniong to get banned everywhere
Snowskates are for the snowboarders that dont know much and only ride with skiers. No hate towards snowskaters that didnt start with snowboarding. but majority of core snowboarders that have one, its nothing more than a novelty item, not a new alternative. Not speaking for everyone here, but every snowboarder ive seen that has one, they use for a couple runs, then switch over as can only do so much. Its a awesome alternative for longboarders though that dont do anything in the winter.
I was gonna say, this looks fun, but am I going to sell my whole snowboard quiver to buy snowskates? Yeah, good luck trying to ride moguls or a anything above a mild blue run, good luck with carving at 40+ mph, and good luck trying to ride even with skiers. The skiers that I know are fast and if you aren’t pushing it on a all-mountain snowboard you will not keep up.
i think reason some resort prohibit it is couse you fall off it way easyer than ona big strapped in board also steep hills ona tiny snowskate is big drama
0:28 Snowskates in the city

Sick video. Just had my 3rd day on a skate at a resort. Everything you said is true. I’m hooked.
hocked until they prohib it :(
The table spot at 3:55 🥹🥹 as an Alaskan living in the mid west where there's not much snow I yearn for the shredding
Great video!
Awesome video
there needs to be shoes specific for this. like some water proof heavy duty vans or adidas
Deluxe footloose 2 boots, vans standard xf mte, DC REACH WATER-RESISTANT SHOES, ARETH SNOWSKATE/POWSURF BOOT, ETNIES MTW
Vans mte sk8 hi or mte half cabs are perfect

How about snowlongboarding?
The feeling is very similar to longboarding! We make a 35 and 37 but you can put almost any top deck on there
My longboards are usually about 42 inches long. Arbor and then DB longboards (flexible bamboo plywood that has been fiberglassed)@@Landyachtz
@@EricHerberholz - You can mount a bigger deck if you like.
Amazing
Dragon Peralta dragon deck board from the 80 s.
Is the monoski for the lower deck symmetrical? Only reason I haven't already bought one is because I'm very big on riding both stances
Yes they are! You can center set your board or have it set back. If you plan on doing a lot of switch stance riding than you'll want yours centered.
snowskating is someting i wannna do permanent snowboaring is boring compared sadly not all ski resort alow it
Snowskater for life!!!~
Check out mekshift snowskates
should build this at Las Vegas on the strip, X Games megacasino with X sports
🤣 real snow?? in las vegas?? never gonna happen

Man, I miss the snow.
Question, why do snowboards have all the things they do and require you to lock into it if it can be done like this? howcome these don't require that stuff that snowboards require?
Some people want to be locked into their board with bindings. Riding a snowskate gives you the freedom to not use bindings
Also, on like a skateboard when you fall, it’s not on concrete
Have you ever fallen on an icy mountain slope? :))
Why do some snowskates have the ski bottom and some are like a snowboard?
The bi level boards are better for runs at the ski resort or carving big mountains and the single decks may be better in city situations and doing flip tricks
@@mekshiftsnowskates721 thanks! Snowskates are BA
is the cord for legal reasons? cuz take that off and u could prob do skateboard tricks
The leash is so the board doesn't take off down the hill when you bail. If you're riding off the resort it's up to you if you want the leash or not
Do they allow these at sunshine? We are going out there this march break and i want to try this so bad. Not sure if any resorts in Ontario allow it.
