It looks REALLY hard. It seems like it'd be hard to keep your nose going forward instead of drifting into a power slide sorta stance... just riding seems tricky, let alone the gnarly rail tricks. It looks super rad though.
I remember me and my homies in the 90s buying cheap Walmart snow skates with the strings attached and everything. We skated those hard man. Glad to see others were thinking about it too, and I’m speechless when I see the progress and recognition of this.

Man, in 2003-04 we had Burton Snowdecks. They had a ski underneath a regular board and it had a gum-mesh on the top. Our homie was at a fair and brought 3 home. Incredible how it developed. But what we did with those hardcore decks.... i still cant believe. There must be footage... Need to try a Snow-Skate :)

the person in this interview has ankle problems so he tries to keep away from flicking and flips and mainly focuses on stuff like rails, he’s so good at handrails tho it’s ridiculous

I hope someone can answer this question: Is it possible to do lines with a snow skate? It seems that Dave’s choice of snow spots are single trick spots. So just wondering if someone wanted to learn snow skating is it possible to push around and do lines opposed to doing single tricks. Thanks
It's mostly single tricks because the friction with the snow slows you down. For doing simple lines you would ideally have a slide constant downslope or some flat ground followed by a little slope to gain back some speed again. When you have good conditions you can definitely push but the speed you gain by pushing is not that much.
As someone from south east Michigan I can attest the winters are long and gross. Wet dirty slushy soggy snow for almost half the year. It’s hardly ever the pretty fluffy snow you see on tv lol.
im a huge fan of snowskating. i really want to try it. hope it has better success than snakeboarding did (i loved snakeboards too, never had one though)
yes but u can’t wear thick clothing when snowskating you still need so much more mobility in your body compared to something like skiing or snowboarding
just got one and finally answered that question: its definitely harder to pop than a board but it has a bigger concave on the nose and tail that sort of lets you drag the nose with you on ollies
Foot right on the tip of the tail (so, almost on top of it). That makes up for not having the truck height your muscle memory expects with regular ollies.
I wanna try snowskating with a real snowskate bc I've only done it with a skate deck but I feel like buying a snowskate is not worth it bc there's only real good snow in January where I live
