    This is one of the greatest videos I’ve seen featuring the early Blackguards. Truly great. 👍

    52' circuit dont have a mid/ both pickups position, only bridge / neck / dark-bass tone pickup wiring ✌

    Hey Tobi, herzlichen Dank. Wie immer, geil eingespielt. Ich spiele selber, aber ich kann Stunden lang zuhören wenn du den Tele spielst oder den Broadcaster

    Many years ago, when I was so fortunate as to reasonably obtain a '52 Telecaster in original condition (except that the electronics were set up in the modern manner), I proudly brought it to a friend's music store and showed it to him. He played it through a very nice Texas-modded '65 Deluxe Reverb (which I later bought from him and still have) and, a he was a good player, of course it sounded magnificent.
    After a while, he asked me what amp I thought it sounded best with, and I truthfully said, "It doesn't matter". He smiled and nodded in understanding, and in just awe of that amazing guitar.
    Its well-known and wonderful basic sound aside, I know of no other guitar that reflects so clearly its player's touch and expression better than a good Tele, the original Blackguard ones best of all.

    In the first tele, that "weird" neck pickup sound was originaly meant for bass sound. Yes, there were no bass guitar at that time and that setting was aimed to fake an organ bass sound. Later came the precision bass guitar

    The one from 1953 I like most. I like the sound of the pickups, especially the neck pickup is more my taste than from the Telecasters from 1952. But all of these guitars a great...

    Would have been nice to open up the control plates to articulate the variations in vintage circuitry.

    The player, for sure. The bridge and that all important neck pickup both have the sound I hear in my head. All three great sounding, but the player.

    The refret ‘52 for its bridge pick up. In all, the ‘53 I would pay for and leave with.

    The early 52's came with a blend control rather than a tone control- helpful hint:) I don't think this guy realizes that.

      I am so embarrassed, but what is the name of that song? I am completely spacing, and cannot think of it.

    I've got a 68 black guard, the bridge pup can be dialed up and into "ice-pick" territory. That shit will bust your brain out baby, yeah it'll make you lose your mind!

    Killer guitars but would have rather had these going straight into the amp.

    These are $50-60k guitars. Let’s get the understanding of the wiring and the electronics correct before we start the camera. And let’s not put something in the middle of the signal chain. Guitar to amp. It’s the only way to assess the sound properly. Every middle position except for the last one, was the neck pickup without the dark circuit. And none of the bridge pickups sounded correct because of whatever was put in the signal chain. Tired of seeing these basic mistakes when attempting to sell someone on essentially a house downpayment.

      and the neck pickup muddy sounding?

    • @No1GuitarCenter
      @No1GuitarCenter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hello Ben, this is not a "for sale" video, but rather infotainment. The wirings on the first two are dark circuit, and the third is modified to modern wiring, that's right. But Thomas does not claim that the middle position is a parallel wiring of both pickups too - he simply did not explain it at all. All bridge pickups sounded pretty correct in the last part of the video, because he used only a cable to the Fender 65 deluxe Reverb amp and no effect pedals.

      Why don't you make your own video?

    • @nebanuk
      @nebanuk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@yjmrules this is by far my least favorite and easily the dumbest argument for when people are critical of something, like I was. “Make your own video then.” No thank you. I’m not required to be a video artist to comment on a video. Just in the same way that I don’t need to be as good as Jimi Hendrix to like or dislike Jimi Hendrix. People are allowed to hold critical opinions, whether good or bad, without needing to have themselves done it.
