Great review man! I own that bike (in the same dope ass Sangria color) and have found it to be a really ideal trail bike. I actually like how it didn’t try to be a mini enduro bike. It feels really great on long backcountry rides where you might not run into the craziest terrain but you need to be ready for anything. It’s not quite as great for “bike park” type terrain.
I’ve found that despite having well set up suspension, I will almost never use full fork travel on this bike despite using full rear travel. On the Lunch Ride model, I kind of think that extra 10mm of fork travel preserves the geo through rough terrain and gives you a little extra margin of safety rather than just giving the bike a more plush experience. Either that, or I just suck at setting up my fork.
Plus it’s gotta be one of the best looking bikes ever made.

Thanks, I totally agree. I'm currently riding the new Bronson and feel it maybe a bit too agro. As far as your fork have you tried removing a volume spacer?

You're killing it dude. I have this bike and I was interested in what you thought. I have demoed a few other bikes and can't find a reason to switch. I am demoing the newest version of the Pivot Switchblade tomorrow so that might be a good one for you to review. That or the Firebird due to your local trails.

Thanks, yeah I really liked it and couldn't find much to complain about. It was also really quiet. I may have to take a trip to AZ when I'm tired of the rain.

I’ve liked my yetis in the past, but the switch infinity is just to complicated and to much maintenance for me even in my dry environment. Grease ports were hit or miss. Would be awesome to see them with more of their 6 bar stuff

Riding a Lunch Ride on the Lunch Ride haha. For those who don't know, this trail is the Yeti "Lunch Ride". I also still have no idea why they spec EXO casing on the LR. Apex murders tires and rims, and keeps Pedal Pushers Cycles busy installing cush core and truing rims haha.

Yeah, I don't think there is a single trail that has broken as many rims!

How does it compare to the fuel ex gen 6? Was set on buying one but now I’ve found a decent deal on this yeti c3 build, going to try demo one next week but don’t have a demo on a trek.

I think overall the Trek has a few things that are better as highlighted in the Loam Library, but most the gains are marginal. The one thing that isn't is you can easily run the Trek with mixed wheels. The finish on the Yeti is better, but the build kits are similar value.

@@NICADV man this is hard , carbon wheels and gx axs on the trek vs alloy and cable gx for the same price kinda should make it an easy choice but i love those yetis. Thanks

@@jackford1841 For sure, and I may be bias but the XTR 9.9 is the same price as gx transmission with much better suspension and brakes.
