Awesome guys looks like a fun challenge. When it looks steep on video you know it's really steep.

Too much braking

Just saying... if theres a car on that trail... i bet your asses would make sure to be in the way ❤
Dude actually so sick
@@Nicksonabike Thanks Adam is a nut!
exactly what i was looking for, thanks!
Glad I could help!
Just curious what you'd think of the Wrecker if I had to do a good hour of fire road climb to get to the good stuff? Thanks!
That was pretty much my regular ride when I owned the bike. It struggles a little when things get real steep or steep and chunky, but its worth it on the descents. Overall I think it's great for that!
Daang, techy bits. Would love to ride out there someday!
I'd definitely recommend it!
@@NICADV a good trip from eastern PA but...self love is not selfish hahaha.

Awesome vid! This was great info
@@blap_mtb thanks!
As a Midwest biker…how does the v3 sentinel compare for rolling/east coastish terrain, esp as a mullet? V3 Switchblade?
I mullet feels a bit more sluggish on rolling terrain, but the stiff platform pedals really well and likes jump around the trail.
I can’t really take this ranking seriously, the Pivot Firebird and Yeti SB 160 aren’t even on this list….
These bikes you mentioned are super sporty enduro bikes that are terrible free ride bikes.
@ No, you’re wrong. That comment of yours is beyond idiotic.
Yeah, I hope the company continues but all of these prices need to moderate.
So what bike IYO was better ?
@@michaelmann3636 they are both plenty capable but for this move probably the Altitude. The suspension is a bit more active and allows you to shut it down faster.
Would love to see you try a yt capra/izzo. Some norcos or devinci!
I think I have another Devinci lined but have gotten crickets from YT and Norco. I'll keep trying.
Anyone interested in the Dreadnought GX RS S+ it’s also 10% off that $5,109 price via Forbidden’s site for Boxing Day until January 1st, just grabbed an s3 for $4,598 out the door, insane deal!
Nice! That so much bike for the $$.
Great review/comparison! As a yellow Nomad owner would you call it say bad at corners understanding it is MX...or more edged out by some of the others? (Not to put a plug in here but the end of season deal from JensonUSA on the yellow V6 was too hard to pass up)....and I'm usually a grey/black/earth tone sort of color guy.
More edged out. It's still great in the corners, I ranked them all 4 out of 5 but the others were just slightly better and especially the Rocky and Forbidden did better in sweeping chunky corners. I did the same, but at the beginning of the season when they had the yellow Jenson Exclusive builds.
Please review the propain spindrift v5 CRF !!
I really want to. Not sure if it will be the AL or CF, but I'm trying.
how about Slash gen 6?Compared to these bikes😊
I did a high pivot comparisons here: th-cam.com/video/0UbyUUZWUi4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cTxxqVVBxY3KNk8m
@ thx a lot!Nice video!
went with the Nomad v6 over Dreadnought v2 - The Dreadnoughts drivetrain is a pain to live with (had a v1). The Nomad has useable in frame storage and cleaner execution overall.
I'd mostly agree and also went Nomad. I've mentioned my apprehension of the added complexity and maintenance of the high pivot bikes, but the Dreadnought V2 has still been problem free. I have a little more time with it, and will touch on living with it in the long term review.
Propain Spindrift 5 AL!!!
That's actually what I want for my park bike this summer!
@ I bought one right away in the fall. I gotta really good deal but admittedly it was kind of an impulse buy. It’d be really nice if a more experienced rider would give it a bona fide full review, to either validate my purchase or let me know I’m stupid.
@@TanJ197 😂
Hell yeah on the bail off the corner.
Oh yeah, I fell down it again just the other day.
I love my 2025 Nomad
🤘what color did you get?
@@NICADV I got the Light Teal w Pink decals, I am not sure if I am going to stick with the pink... It doesn't look as sharp as my 2016 Nomad with the brighter Teal and Hot Pink decals. Actually with the Black and gold Fox 38... I'm thinking a matching gold decal set for the frame and Hope fortus rims would look really sharp with the teal frame
@@chrisfontaine6221 Nice, that's the color I'd probably go with but I love that purple. The light colors photo better but I haven't seen that one in person.
@@NICADV I love the deep purple frames too, The pastel pink with the teal frame looks great but I find the pink clashes with black components, while the teal looks even better against the black fork and rims... almost makes it pop more. I love how the bike rides, and I feel more confident on it for sure, but I'm having troubles keeping up to my old times that I'd get on my 2016 Nomad which I had set up with a mullet and same chainring size, Ha it was 11 spd though so I'm probably just using granny gear on the 12 spd too much lol
What are you filming this video on?
@@HarryStewart-m9e gopro12 with the max mod 2.0 and just an iPhone
Another great review. It’s so refreshing watching these bikes in action where they belong. TH-cam is full of big channels riding Enduro and Trail bikes on trails that could easily be ridden on a gravel bike or sometimes rode on well groomed bike parks that any trail hardtail would easily do.
Thank you, I enjoy seeing what these bikes can really do.
I really feel like RM missed the mark completely on their new bike. Which do you prefer, calling it Santa Mountain or Rocky Cruz?
Its definitely a big departure from the old bike, but its pretty good for all out speed and straight line confidence.
How would you say the flex is on the meta sx? Im thinking of getting one but if its too flexy, that might be a deal breaker for me. I'm coming from a meta sx v4 so maybe it won't be that bad. Just wanna know your thoughts.
@@aidenzhou8168 I didn’t really notice it. I was aware of the complaints so kinda looking for it but it was pretty wet. I’m only 170lbs, but put it down some rough stuff.
@@NICADV I see, thanks for the insight! I know it does have a brace on the seatstay (which the meta v5 non-sx version doesnt have) which should help with the flex.
Nice comparison and great riding. If you still have the nomad I think it would be wicked for you to do a review with the Cascade components link installed. Curious on how it rides compared to the OEM link and how it would stack up against this list
Thank you, not sure but I'll reach out and see what happens.
Lefthand?

@@NICADV have you hit "all along the watch tower" yet?
@@Hoshea_Levi Not yet, but I'm heading back out there later this week.
@@NICADV I was out there today and conditions are great, but a little windy. Definitely check that one out, sweet lefthand tech, with some bigger jumps too.
Great reviews. Have you ever considered reviewing the new Status 2 170 from specialized? Asking mainly due to the overall lack of youtube reviews on it and being a very capable for the cheaper price point.
@@blang805 yes, I really want to check that out. They had an experience center near me but it closed down, so still working on it.

Another banger, comment for the algo!
Thank you!
You should do a review on the Niner WFO. I own this bike and really like it but would like to see another perspective on it. I ride it at Lefthand all the time and it rips pretty good. I sized up and I find it to be the perfect mix between race ready and playful.
Thesee were also just on amazing sale as well.
Its definitely a bike I'd like to check out

@@peterhaworth6859 Thank you, I’ve had trouble getting in touch with some of the UK companies, but I’ll give Orange a shout.
@ yep they seem quite rare in the Canada/US regions. Love to see the chromag lowdown and the Raaw Madonna given your expert treatment.(sorry,I’m self indulging now😂)
Hello, can I request you to review the Polygon Collosus N9? Thank you!
@@rat-rq5qv I will definitely reach out, but no promises.
@@NICADV Thank you so much!
How does this thing compares to the evil insurgent?
@@MrBigGoat on paper they look pretty similar, but in size large they felt very different. The Evil climbed quite a bit better, but descending they were on par mostly the body position felt off because of the fit. The large has a low ish stack and the seattube height/angle put it in a weird spot between my knees. That all made the Evil more confident on steeps add in the delta suspension and it was also more fun on jumps.
@@NICADV That's awesome to hear I was looking for more enduro leaning mullet bike to replace my offering v2 and had a chance to trade with some guy for an insurgent MX. Really love this thing and your reviews helped me a lot. keep up the awesome work mate!
@@MrBigGoat thanks, Have fun out there!
I’ll throw a request into the mix… Raaw Madonna, geometron, banshee titan, commercial meta sx… aka would love a comparison between aluminum enduro bikes
@@jlh530i1 I’m really interested in checking out Raaw and I had some response from Privateer. I didn’t realize it looks like Banshee is now based in CO. I’ll keep inquiring.
Sick!! When was this filmed? Trail conditions decent right now?
Very good, 12/22
Shit is pretty steep!
oh Yeah!
Thanks for the review. My Meta V5 also developed a nasty creaking but a retorque of the lower link fixed it 100%. So an easy fix. A press fit bottom bracket really is superior in both weight and stiffness over a threaded one. Commencal made the right choice here. Threaded bottom bracket is easier to work on but with the right tools for the press fit the advantage is really very small.
Thanks, glad you were able to get sorted.
Nice line! 👊
Thanks 🤘
