I think Urban Downhill should not be done in the rain.... edit: I know the crash wasn't due to the rain per see, but while you say you loved it all the way you did look pretty sketched out about the state of the streets prior and I wonder if that might have messed with your head to the point it contributed to the crash. I know testing/training is important, but if it's so slippery what gains do you get from riding it in those conditions when you're not going to race in conditions like that anyway? ps: What were your injuries? Looks like underarm/wrist? Hoping for a quick and full recovery.
Incredibly exciting to watch, maybe something to help with grip could be laid down in the rain....should have a British urban downhill race....loved it! Even the crash...🇬🇧👍
Not an expert but for me it looks as if some control mechanisms didn't work. There should have been a guy at the shark fin to stop following riders before they jump. Waving a red flag or something like that immediately.

This was a terrifying and unsettling video. As a 40+ rider who loves what you all have done for the sport and taught me so much over the years, let me say this. If you take less risks I’ll still watch, like and buy your kit. Wishing you a fast recovery …
Hello, Mr. Samson, greetings from Colombia. You are a great inspiration for all mountain bikers and here you have another friend. I hope you recover very well and very soon. Cheers!
That was a beautiful video and an amazing bit of storytelling. Comedy, excitement, tragedy and heroism! Rapid recovery to Blake. Great job Theo and Bernard.
Aw Blake, you bloody legend... I'm writing to you from eastern Tennessee USA, I'm originally from the midwest and I've been watching and learning from your technique since you started with the channel. I started properly riding off road in the late 90's, then incorporated some urban free ride whenever I could; so I'm no spring chicken. Since moving to eastern Tennessee I've upped my game making full sus all mountain/ trail bikes my go to for the single track around here, and of course; a dedicated pump track roller to keep going in the winter. Long story short, being on two wheels is where I'm happiest; and the GMBN crew is a large part of my continued progression in the sport. This is the first time I'm reaching out to you and the crew, and considering this sketch high side; I thought some fresh encouragement might help. You've impacted so many of us in a way that's truly hard to quantify... you've helped all of us be better at something we love, so thank you Blake. Get better soon, there's a whole world rooting for you.
Heal up soon Blake!! 🤕Such a great video, the course is nutz. Great attitude, always positive! You rock the track. 💪👏Great to see the MTB Riders be so king to each other.
