    Story 3: I am a horse owner. Those two women should not be allowed anywhere near a horse. If you do not know immediately what your horse needs, call a vet. The vet bill for consulting the vet first is MUCH lower than the vet bill for treating what you did wrong. (Also, usually cheaper than the cost of the excavator if you REALLY screw up.)

    • @nancyomalley6286
      @nancyomalley6286 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      And I would think that most appointments for horses ARE house calls to the horses' stables, rather than the vet's office (unless the horse is a miniature pony)

    • @gryphenicedancer8796

      Absolutely! It also speaks to their ignorance that they think they need to take the horse to the vet.
      I always had the vet come to me except for the occasional rare case where I had the horse in the trailer and was going past the vet anyway.
      As I did once picking up a new horse that needed blood pulled for testing and the routine shots.

But for the benefit of a doubt, I'll file those examples as ignorance. Where the stupid comes in is not listening to multiple, not one, but multiple people telling you that your victim is a customer. Where the stupid comes in is automatically making rude assumptions out loud before assessing the situation. And finally, where the stupid really comes in is asking people if they think your stupid; an employee might still have to be polite to you but a customer you're harassing has every right to question your dead end gene pool.

    Those two ladies in the feed store are weird. I've been around enough large farm animals throughout my life to know that with a horse, a cow, a sheep, or a pig, the vet comes to you. Their animal clinics are on the back of a pickup or inside a box van, not in a brick and mortar animal clinic.

      Have insurance for my Jellybean in case anything happens
      In 2016 I thought I had full insurance for him. But the vet had miss-sold the insurance. I said I wanted the full one & they only sold me some kind of in-house insurance. Then Jellybean almost died & fought for 3months.
      A week before Christmas he was finally off all his meds.
      The whole treatment over the 3 months, including the 6 different meds he needed to take 3x a day, cost me way over £1000
      He had a bit of a relapse the Christmas after, because he thought "let's inhale the new dry food" & luckily that vet got him better in 3 weeks & it was not expensive at all. But believe me that once the 2yrs were over, & this was no longer a pre condition, I immediately got him a proper insurance.
      Now I know for sure that if ever something happens to him again that I don't have to worry at all.

I was facing away from the window talking to my daughter. I broke his nose before I realised who it was who had touched me. I've never had a typical Karen Encounter, but when I was 16 (many, Many, MANY Moons ago) I was grabbed by someone in a store that thought I was shoplifting (I'd placed the item in a bag I was carrying because I was going to buy more than 2 items) and when I told him to get his mitts off me, he got belligerent and started yelling for a manager and that's when I grabbed his wrist and started squeezing as hard as I could...unfortunately for him, I've always had a freakishly strong grip and his yell for a manager quickly turned into a scream of pain as my grip was grinding the bones of his arm together...
    Fortunately for him, he let go of my shirt very quickly so I stopped crushing his wrist...Unfortunately for him, even though this happened in the mid '90's, the store had Security Cameras and the Manager was a friend of my father and thus knew me well so he got held until the Police arrived and then Arrested for Assaulting a Minor...

      @Kayenne54 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stay well clear of "hands throwing range" if at all possible. Get distance. The camera concept is great. If they advance, and seem more disturbed, make a bigger disturbance by calling for security or police VERY LOUDLY; OUT LOUD. Be the first ever victim who's ever done that. Of course, these things happen quite suddenly, and we're rarely prepared for this kind of weird, but don't get within "hands throwing range" if they're coming at you from the front and you're aware of them. From the side or back, get the heck away as fast as possible, and get a shopping basket or trolley between you. Safety first. If it's a verbal attack, interrupt rudely and tell them you're a customer. "I'm a customer, STEP AWAY NOW". (though I admit I liked the response "You want me to go and do WHAT WITH YOU IN THE CARPARK?" very loudly). Lol.

We don’t work here.” I’m laughing at the situation, but S shoots me a look and tries to actually help them…even though she also didn’t know where the object was 💀

    If you cannot afford an additional $20,000 USD per year, then you have no business owning a horse. My family and extended family combined have owned 30-40 horses in the last half century and I will tell you that all the costs of owning such a magnificent creature are very, very expensive... and that's not including the several hundred dollars per horse for food each month.

    The last story: I have been asked for directions in English in Helsinki, Finland from people I can tell by their accent are from Sweden and are here on vacation. It's always so nice to be able to switch over to my mother tongue as a Swedish-speaking Finn and surprise them by speaking fluent Swedish :D

      As a Swede I am always prepared for people speaking Swedish whenever I am in Helsinki/Helsingfors but since I only know a few phrases and words in Finnish I usually start with English until I know, although I might just ask first if they speak Swedish. But I would never be surprised if they do.
      I was surprised in Oslo once but apparently a lot of bartenders there are Swedish. But there I can get by with Swedish anyway since the languages are so similar.

    A regular vet visit might cost around $40 for your horse. If the visit is an emergency or requires on-call services, you might pay up to $150 for the appointment alone - not including the costs of diagnostics, testing, treatments, and follow-up.

(I went to get something for my my hair, was helping someone who asked what products i used because i have thick and curly 3b hair. Sadly was wearing my red shirt, so ig i was mistaken for a target employee but im not. Karen cut our conversation and harassed me for ignoring her. 1st story: I just don't understand why people think someone works somewhere simply by the color of their shirt. I own many shirts, some of which are the color of uniform shirts of certain stores that I do go to. Do I deliberately wear them in order to create a scene? No, but if I happen to be out and about and wind up going into a store with that color uniform I don't go out of my way to cause problems either. But really, when the shirt has a BIG logo and name of another business on it, it's kind of obvious that person works elsewhere despite the color. How unobservant do you have to be? And quite frankly if someone just grabs me, they're likely to find themself eating a knuckle sandwich or experiencing some other result of my defending myself.
    Story 2: Karen was just lucky hubby was close enough to stop OP! But I still stand by my last statement from story 1.
    Story 3: I guess EKs 1 & 2 never heard of looking things up on the internet. A Google search of the horse's symptoms should give some idea of what the treatment should be. But if you really have no idea what you're doing, call a vet! Odds are the store clerk isn't going to know a great deal either, though a manager might. Otherwise, call the glue factory.

    The entitlement of these two women owning a sick horse and refusing to provide basic veterinary care makes me sick. Horses are not some trophy pet to stick on your property and brag, "Oh look at how special I am, I have a horse!" Horses can die from something as simple as eating unripe pears, my god. I'm a large animal veterinary surgeon, and have worked with the horse community in my area. They are among the best animal communities I've worked with in terms of providing proper care, in every aspect of the term, to their animals. My nearest neighbor raises Friesian horses and there is literally nothing she wouldn't do for them. She has a vet and a farrier that visit her stable. I've stopped over for an emergency before her regular vet could arrive, because of a degloving.

    I don't know what I would do besides panic if someone did that to me. I don't shop large stores alone, although I no longer need a hand to hold. I used to, even if it was my young son keeping me calm. I feel so guilty about that, but I really really couldn't shop without someone to hold hands with for about 2 years. I wasn't holding him back, he was holding me back. Not a job for a 5-7 year old, but he was generous about it. I was in treatment, but it wasn't until I changed clinics that I improved, and he felt he could let go. I still have help shopping big stores, but no longer need to even be in the same aisle. It's hard, but so so so much better! I still wish to this day he didn't have to do that just for us to buy food! But he did it very well. I am very proud of him, and hope he never ever feels he has to hold my hand again!

    #1 To «they could be arrested for assaulting a minor», the perfect answer would be : «And rightly so. That Karen DESERVE to get arrested»
    #2 Hubby should have given OP just a few more second to act. Not much. JUST 1 or 2 second more, and Karen would have left the store on a stretcher. OP would face no consequence as she was in a clear state of self defence from the assault from Karen. Then, Karen would go from her hospital room to the court room to her prison room.
    #3 Someone need to call a vet to see those Karens horse. They clearly don't know how to take care of a horse. They are probably condemning their horse to a slow and very painful preventable death.
