I once saw a guy in a Walmart with his concealed carry weapon barely visible under his jacket. Being a gunowner myself, though not a CCW holder, and not wanting him to get in trouble for "brandishing", I quietly informed him that his weapon was visible. He thanked me and adjusted his clothing properly. No muss, no fuss.

    • @anionleader
      @anionleader ปีที่แล้ว +20

Legally there's a difference between actually brandishing and having a gun printing or slightly visible. In some states, yeah, they're not friendly at all, if it prints or peeks out even slightly, full on police called and such.

My state is unfortunately one of those. Although hopefully the attitude of law enforcement and the general public will improve now that "shall-issue" is the federal standard. Fingers crossed that all of the unconstitutional laws states are currently trying to put up will be struck down.

I had a woman approach me at the Supermarket that sounds like Ogre where I shop. She started with the “excuse me” and snapping her fingers in my face. I smiled at her and asked “Do you like those fingers?” Her jaw dropped. I then said “ If you like those finger’s don’t snap them in my face or I will break them off. I do not work here and I do not care if you try to get me fired because, again, I do not work here and if you touch me again (she tried to turn me around by the shoulder) I will have you charged with assault”. I've never PURPOSEFULLY gone into a store wearing clothes the colors of a store's uniform, but if I'm going out and about having fun or running errands I'm not going to over think it either. I've got red shirts, blue shirts, green shirts, black shirts and a few others. I'm going to wear what's clean and comfortable. Funny thing is though, I never seem to have a problem telling employees and customers apart. I don't understand why so many other people do. As for that idiot manager, after telling me she'd been there 8 years I'd be asking her: "Then who am I, what department do I work in?" type questions until she apologized to me. But I would still report her to corporate for her unprofessionalism.

I used to work for Target and managers like the Karen manager are honestly the norm. Hostile, doesn’t really know their employees, and when it comes down to it they would never have their employees’ backs, perceived or not. If it means keeping a customer, even if they’re actually a detriment to business, they’ll happily throw someone under the bus, especially lower level employees. Wal Mart gets a bad rep but Target is just as bad.

First story: Karen is going to get charge with: one count of assault, two count of assault and battery, one count of harassment, one count of lying to the police, one count of disturbing the peace, and one count of assaulting an law enforcement officer. The one count of assault is when she grab OP's arm and spun her around to face her, the two count of assault and battery is when she slap the manager and the arresting officer, the harassment is when she start yelling at OP, the lying to police is kind of a no brainer, disturbing the peace is when she cause a scene, and the assault on the law enforcement officer is also a no brainer.
Second Story: The Karen need to be banned from every Target across the country while the responding Manager should be discipline by taking proper de-escalation training as something tells me she never took one in her eight years of being with the Target she works at.
Third story: Yea that Karen must be blind as if OP really does work there then how come he's not in uniform. Also OP shouldn't have gotten charge as he didn't do anything to the Karen. She the one that started everything. The cops jump the gun there as instead of lowering their weapon when they see OP with his hands up they kept the weapon trained on him.
Fourth Story: Talk about a happy ending.

#1 Psycho Karen won't bother OP for some time. They have all they need to get Karen to trial and get her in prison for a few years. Assault, at least twice. Assault against an on duty police officer. Refusal to comply. Resisting arrest. Perjury.
#2 So, Karen and enabling Karen assault a simple customer who just happen to have a single piece of clothing with the store's colour... Karen manager should get fired for that. As for the first Karen, she need a ban of at least 6 months.
#3 OP did NOT look anything near like a store employee. What is it with those Karens who decide that some random person MUST be an employee when it's pretty obvious that they are not ?

Happens to me. Depending on how they approach me, I will either be “Sorry, I do not work here” or “I don’t @!?% work here! @&¥£ off!”
And it does not matter how I look. One time, I had on a jacket with huge “VALET” across the back of it and was at a landscaping place. Outright ignored the guy. Another I was in a worn Duke Blue Devils jersey and pants with holes in them and some geezer starts yelling at me about why there are no blank cassettes. One time a woman starts yelling at me when I was getting beaten up by a migraine and I cursed her out. I was in a pharmacy in a mall looking for Tylenol.

Don't get why the CCW holder lost the gun for so long, it got visible because of the Karen's assault, how is that his problem? You can't plan for shirt pulling when concealing... ridiculous!

I used to live behind a Kmart. Don't wear headphones in the store. Kmart had to ban headphones because of fights breaking out. Because someone was wearing headphones, they didn't hear something, so they go mad about the person standing behind them, getting bumped with a cart, et al.

14:30 Karen's take note: you can get someone tackled (might even damage a joint, get them a life-long injury) by screaming "gun". No gun need be present to get your target taken to the ground and in cuffs. A+ Police work there, boys.

I want you to help me. Well, it never hurts to want. == As often as these IDWH/Karen stories seem to happen, I might be a little shy about going to one of those big box stores. Except I'm 70 yrs. old and know nobody would mistake me for an employee. 😂

Open / concealed carry in America is like having a bear spray that makes you smell extra tasty and arousing to bears. I have yet to hear a story where it doesn't make it worse for the carrier.

There are no stories unless something goes wrong. Most people who conceal carry just do it and you'd never know. If you live in America, you're probably friends with someone who carries a weapon and you dont even know it. They don't usually advertise it 🙂

"Where's the dog food?" Read the signs. Walmart has all their aisles and departments labeled. There's always a big sign that says "Pets". The only time I ever ask for help finding something in Walmart is when it's something that could be in multiple places and I'm having trouble finding it. A couple of examples would be once I asked about marshmallow crème because they moved it, and once I asked about back scratchers because I wasn't even sure if they carried them. Some places put marshmallow crème near the peanut butter, some put it in baking supplies, sometimes its in other places. Depends on the store. Back scratchers seemed like they should be in housewares, though apparently Walmart (when they actually stock them) put them in medical equipment with things like canes and slings. Other than more obscure things like that, I find things myself using the signs.

When the Pandemic was in full swing, the local Walmart decided it would be a fine idea to move the facemasks around on the regular, so you never knew where in the hell they were. Had to ask employees several times where they had been moved to, only to find them on some random endcap. I always made sure it was an actual employee first before asking, though...

@@robertc.9503 - Yeah, endcap items are another one of those kooky things that get moved around a lot, though medical masks should be stocked in medical supplies, even if part of the stock is placed on endcaps for convenience. If that wasn't the case, well, that corporate retail I guess. But I agree, and have said before, always look for the logo.
