I couldn't see my kids for 90 days... they wanted to make sure that I was going to stay clean and to make sure I was serious about getting them back. They don't want parents showing up and then disappearing again.. it's so much harder on the kids.

Good job! Getting sober is hard. I'm a recovering addict. I've been in recovery for over 8 years and I just want to tell you it is possible too get clean and stay clean. There are so many programs out there that can help. There are so many different ways to lead a life in recovery. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. Don't let anybody tell you you are a bad person or a bad mother because you are an addict. Using is a choice, but being an addict is not. You are not a bad person for being an addict and people that haven't been through it don't understand.

When they sent my kids to live with my dad, I did 30 days in rehab & 45 days in jail. I was only taking loratabs (I say ONLY because in the world of drugs, loratabs are considered the same as a baby aspirin) and it still took 6months for me to bring them home. I was mad and felt they was All against me but after I got my head straight I realized they wanted to help me be better for my kids. Now after 11 yrs still clean and living the mom life, I want to help others in my shoes understand they do need help because their kids deserve parents that are present & active. Kids are precious and should be treated as such!

In the world of drugs and your kids, it doesn’t matter if you consider an illegal narcotic “baby aspirin” and being an addict who’s been clean going on 9 years that sounds like a qualifier and a way of making your addiction issues seem and sound way less severe than they were.
Congrats on getting and staying sober but let’s not sugar coat our past problems for the courts saw your issues bad enough to remove your children, issue rehab and jail for you based on your comment.

@@purpleandred7 It really is crazy because it takes a massive amount of meth use to transfer enough meth biproduct from your body to somebody else's body to cause them to test positive. @@BrookeMcLymond the problem I'm having here in Nevada is that my tests were coming back negative and they were sent out of state to a lab but when the facility here gets the lab reports, the courts never actually see them. I stead the facility writes their own summary including a paragraph report about the results. In my case and I'm sure many others, this facility changes the results or incorrectly interpret the results to corroborate the results of the faulty ass sweat patch. Example. I was getting positive sweat patch results but not using, I started taking my own urine tests every other day while on this patch to show no drug use. Judge refused to look at them because it wasn't at a place they contract with but at one point after I had a clean and healthy baby, she did add two random urine tests weekly at the same facility administering the patch. All patches were positive but all urines were negative. Instead of reporting this discrepancy, they decided to instead write in their summary that although I had negative urine tests, the raw data they got from the lab report stated that there actually was meth and amphetamine in my urine but it was just below the cutoff. I contacted the out of state lab myself and was sent copies of the actual lab reports along with a signed affidavit and a letter that stated that levels of drugs below the cut off so not exist in my case. Judge still refused to hear it. I lost my case and got my judge disqualified. New judge, opposing counsel insists they want me drug tested and monitored on the patch. I agreed with the sole intention of this time proving beyond a reasonable doubt that this patch was giving false positives. That victory is about to come to fruition finally in the next few weeks. But when I went back in to this facility again they asked for a urine sample before putting on the patch. I get word that my urine results were positive for meth. Again I contacted the lab for my actual lab results and low and behold yes my results were positive for meth but........... Negative for amphetamines!!!!! Wtf?? And....... The facility had the lab test my urine at a lower cut off than normal. If this facility doesn't get shut down and the owner arrested by the end of this year then I have no hope and no trust in the system whatsoever.

She actually does have the right to visitation, unless she has her parental rights terminated. Child protective services are legally required to make diligent efforts to reunify the children with the parents until the permanency goal is changed to "freed for adoption." That process cannot even begin until the date in January that the Judge gave. Until then, the entire goal is for those children to talk to, see, maintain and build a healthier relationship with their parents. I'm not sure why virtual visits weren't being offered? Maybe they're already in place. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also, depending on the circumstances she MAY have the privilege of video communication. It is not her right just because she is a parent. She does not need her parental rights terminated before visitation ends. She has to work a reunification order and follow it and the parental plan.

Not necessarily true. The relative that takes custody is typically monitored for a period of time and is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of the kiddos too. If they allow the parent to be unsafe with the kids, put the kids at risk, etc...they then can become subjects named on the report and have the kids removed from their care.

      Someone not follow an order?!?
If I used too many big words, or words in general, let me make it more simple.
When someone else takes custody of a child from an unfit parent, they are now legally responsible for keeping the child safe. If they don't follow the orders, the kid can get removed from them and they can be subject to neglect and abuse proceeding as well.
If they make those choices, there are typically safeguards. Like having the kids removed again, and yes, I'm well aware it happens.

I think that these parents should be clean for the entire YEAR Before any consideration is given to even visitation. They should be clean for one year before those children. Those kids tested positive at birth, or if the children have been taken out, because the mother and or the father are actively using drugs and not maintaining a home I think one year if they’re not sober for one year, then they should automatically have the children taken. If you can’t get it together for a year for your children and drugs are more important than the kids.

The mother does not seems to be bothered at all that her young baby is suffering because of her and the father. Nothing seems to manner to these people but themselves and their own personal needs. Why were they in a motel room? No housing? Can someone tell me if the judge could of asked her to show or at the very least mentioned people by their names in the house? I wish they would of done that if it was permitted.

    • @lizaaltizer7775

That is the nature of addiction. People engaged in it have no thoughts outside themselves. When someone intervenes to tell then why what they are doing is wrong, they don’t understand. They truly believe that if they think it’s ok, everyone else is wrong. Even if their children are positive for meth and having withdrawals.

    • @impalamama7302
      @impalamama7302 ปีที่แล้ว

It is very common for people who have addictions usually end up staying at extended stay motels where they an pay by the week. These are usually run down motels in not very good part of town.
This is the last step until the addiction progresses to the point they can't support their habit and pay the weekly rate, and they end up homeless and living on the street..

They likely do care in their heart, but addiction is a beast that takes over. That's one of the things that differentiates drug use/abuse from drug addiction. I KNOW without a doubt that my dad loved me, but his addiction to alcohol and prescription drugs took over at times.

I know somebody personally that I was watching over and she was clean and had been clean for some time and kept getting sanctioned. We talked to a lawyer and he got her started at a different place and she tested clean everytime even hair follicles. Also when she told the judge this and showed him the papers the man who had originally been doing the test was fired.
