Shouldn't we eat olives and not olive oil? Oil is a processed item that's 100% fat. It's easy to over consume calories. Obviously, calories do matter. Just look around, most people are walking around with loads of stored excess calories.
A high quality olive oil is made in a minimally processed way. Fresh olives are cleaned, crushed, mixed, and spun and the oil is separated from the pulp and pit. That's a long way from other highly processed foods that are heated, salted, sugared, colored, flavored, preserved, and so on.
