Super valuable information, I love that you're breaking down the information and teaching us how to choose based on that. I feel confident now to got into a store and evaluate these oils and pick something awesome.
The one from Africa is actually from North Africa, where an old and beautiful country named Tunisia is located, a couple of hundred miles away from Europe. That land has thousands of years of old, rich tradition of producing olive oil since the Roman Empire and even before, just like the regions around the Mediterranean Sea.
I believe they say that Tunisian is amongst the best. Highest in polyphenols, antioxidants, etc. The harsher climate stresses the plants more and makes them produce more of these compounds in return. Which just happens to be the stuffs that are good for us
The name of that olive oil from Tunisia is Terra Delyssa . It sold in my local grocery store in Virginia for 10 dollars , on sale 4 months ago , when it first appeared on the shelf. It now sells for twenty dollars . It reads on the bottle Gold Award Best olive oil in the world 2023 . The earlier bottles in the store read the same, but 2022 . Apparently the testers for that competition like it .
Terra Delyssa ( Yellow horse ) from Tunisia is the one i been buying and i love it '. Very fragrant and way higher in quality. I traced the oil and it is grown only in Tunisia unlike other brands that are blended from Italian,Spanish,Greek...

It's very well in showing which olive oil to buy. But now days with the astronomic prices of this product, low income people are not longer able to afford it.
@@peace1108please how to do that? Just heat the butter, cool it off and store it out of the fridge or not? Or just take butter, add salt and preserved like pickles?
Love the video very much. you had me intrigued by the first oil. when I looked it up on their web site first think was it was from Portugal, but didn't say where from. funny thing was this bottle is not on their product list so it must be made for grocery stores. they had a few different bottles about 8 or 9 all different descriptions and one that stood out was late harvest olive oil that they were selling as a premium olive oil special edition. What we learnt from you was that late harvest ripness give more oil but less nutrients. thank you for that. what I would love for you to do a video or video series would be on the uses or the 3 different presses of oil and what you would use them for in different cooking methods ie. salads beef chicken fish. where you would use a mild flavour like just virgin olive oil for rapini or salads and use the better extra virgin olive oil for dips or finishing off a great meat or fish dish when you need the power of the flavour for and extra depth in a dish. LOVE YOUR VISEOS I put it in caps to emphasize how much I enjoyed the informative video and thank you for not jumping around and dancing like there is in most tick Tok and reels these days. thank you again.
Thank you for the nice explanation. Especially the two parts of your video, the way you discuss the color, quality of olive oil in the second part (01:18 OLIVES) and the processing in the third part (05:04 Olive oil Processing) are really commendable. Thanks for such great feedback and for writing in and so glad you enjoyed this episode :)
I'm in the UK. We only seem to have extra virgin and ordinary general olive oil which I use for frying and extra virgin for drizzling, salads etc. I've never seen pomace oil. I only usually buy the supermarket brand which I presume is pretty rubbish. I will now be checking the labels. Wow, amazing information. I never knew there was so much to know about olive oil. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Great to hear from you in the UK and so glad you enjoyed this episode 👍👍
Hi Tracy, UK here too. We only have Waitrose in our village, their website shows very little info on any of the brands, they might show country but absolutely none of the info Ino has covered. What a crock. What are they selling us ? Oil with a hint of Olives. Engine Oil 🙃
@@codepuncher I was in Tesco the other day checking labels. I did find one which seemed to tick all the boxes. It was expensive so I bought one bottle and will try it out.
The yellow label with the horse is Terra Delyssa is one of the best olive oils in the world. It is picked pressed and bottled on the same day. It is reasonably priced. Country of origin is Tunisia. On the Mediterranean across from Italy. Try it you will love it.
Thanks for your feedback 👍
My only concern with them is that they started out about 15 yrs ago as a boutique brand with tracking of batches etc. Now they're are a mass market brand. How did they do that?
@@ninod1502 ...not sure exactly but they most likely increased their production capacity in order to process more, under the same strict measures
Is it made in Tunisia or it says imported from Tunisia or it says products of Tunisia?
Thank you!

Thanks for every thing. The one you did not like (Gallo)came from Protugal. And i'm agree with you..
I cook with olive oil every day. This video has been very helpful. I used to use Carapelli, and now I will go back to using it. Thank you.
I used to buy Gallo olive oil, until one day I bought Terra Delyssa since the other one was not in store. Since then, the tasssste is so good! You can feel the difference and authenticity. It's more expensive but it's worth it. I put it in all food thay I can eat it with.
thanks for sharing your experience with us :)

So glad you enjoyed this episode 👍👍
It's very well in showing which olive oil to buy. But now days with the astronomic prices of this product, low income people are not longer able to afford it.
Turn your butter into ghee. It's so much better.
@@peace1108 There's nothing like that amazing taste of olive oil!
@@peace1108please how to do that? Just heat the butter, cool it off and store it out of the fridge or not? Or just take butter, add salt and preserved like pickles?
Even peanut oil is too high and my favorite for cooking
So glad you are enjoying my videos - thanks for such great feedback and suggestion as well :)

This Video goes a long way helping people to avoid buying both fake & crappy Olive Oils. Thanks for the Vid.
So glad this helped you with your olive oil buying decisions and thanks for the great feedback 👍 👍
Thank you for the nice explanation. Especially the two parts of your video, the way you discuss the color, quality of olive oil in the second part (01:18 OLIVES) and the processing in the third part (05:04 Olive oil Processing) are really commendable. This information helps identify extra virgin olive oil.
I am so glad you enjoyed this episode and thanks for the great feedback 👍👍🙂🙂
I learned so much!!! Thank you!!
