- Frédéric Chopin's Piano Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58, is the last of the composer's piano sonatas. Completed in 1844 and dedicated to Countess Élise de Perthuis, the work is considered to be one of Chopin's most difficult compositions, both technically and musically.
0:00 - Mvt I Allegro maestoso
12:36 - Mvt II Scherzo: Molto vivace
15:07 - Mvt III Largo
24:58 - Mvt IV Finale: Presto non tanto

• Martha Argerich Chopin...
oh my god that last movement
So modern! Like it could’ve been written today/been video game boss music
@@AndrewKierszenbaumYeah! That's about what I thought when I first heard it! And it ends with the most beautiful coda
i’m in love it with
The fourth movement has been playing in my head non stop for the past week. Such an indescribably epic yet catchy melody
The serenely beautiful Third movement - and then the bloody coughing starts !
26:15 such great voicing. He managed to accentuate the bass melody so clearly.
never heard zimerman play this, quite amazed so far
an incredible piece of music. Zimmerman is very solid and disciplined
Thank you for your work. I've hoped to see the score simultaneously while listening of zimerman's 3. I love it.
Thanks for sharing. In many moments the music is played so straightforwardly (or is even rushed) that it surprises me that this is Zimmerman or Chopin. Despite that, this sonata is so wonderful (and following it with the score) that I listened to it till the end and I enjoyed it.
thanks for reminding me this piece exists again!
Wspaniałe i ponadczasowe. Muzyka Chopina będzie zachwycać wiecznie. Dzieło stuleci i symbol naszego narodu polskiego ❤
Composing this music and notating is astounding in the century before and after baffles my mind-I am a child
Amazing!
The sheer beauty of piano music (at least in my humble opinion).
There is 0 opinion on that sentence
@@FrostDirtMy bad
Best of the best
Zimerman's recordings are generally well-behaved and not overly aggressive and at standard tempo. This sounds a bit different from his usual recordings lol, his fourth movement is so intense but definitely not vulgar!
His studio recordings are like that (he is a perfectionist in that regard, almost to a fault), but his live playing is generally regarded as more spontaneous.
It is Zimerman. You can tell from the 4th movement. I heard him play it live. Nobody plays the last mvt. like him.
Fialkowska does it better IMO. This is technically amazing, but the Fialkowska respects rhythm much more and when she does play with the rhythm or dynamics it’s much more deliberate
i've loved this channel since the brahms sonatas video. what are your next projects?
at 21:00 i literally felt like the guy coughed in my ear. I guess this is the curse of classical music...
😂
All the rage was vented out in the last movement.
This gave me a true chuckle, thanks
Ok I just listened to that part and oh man, right during that dramatic moment, sigghhh... People!!
Holy crap, this was Zimerman?
9:57
During what epidemic was this recorded?
Audio de muy bajo volumen.
The left hand 😭😭
It is nice or not?
3rd movement, technically perfect but dare I say, lacking emotion
Yeah, it was "pretty," but it didn't transcend like this movement normally would... It felt _long,_ and that's not something I usually get with this movement.
Hhmm.. I doesn't sound like Zimerman to me.. 🤔
When I listen to the last movement, it's definitely him, perfect control over tempo and dynamics!
first movement definitely does
It’s not an official recording, and he’s older in this recording since it was 2003. And like the others say, the last movement and the voicing , it’s definitely him
Honestly, it sounds like Zimerman to me. Technical pulchritude, but often lacking that something special.

Gorgeous…
LOL 1:24
Is he Zimmerman?
Yes.
Maybe if he didn't rush it so much he'd be able to hit the right notes
Who cares Right notes, i liked the tempo
Why does the right notes matter if he plays it with passion
You give off Elitist snob vibes
Doesn’t sound like Zimerman at all
I've been to a couple of his concerts and noticed that he tends to play differently every time, sometimes in very extreme ways :) and this recording IS Zimerman himself playing ;)
It’s a Berkeley live and surely Zimerman, i have video too
@@greatmusicchannel8549 thank you ;)
a live recording... he really lets go in this performance... which is kind of nice...
