    Personally I would trust you over any local doctor in the medical field... I almost lost my sight completely... I told my doctor all my symptoms and she gave me lipitor! I didn't take it... Instead, went on a plethora vitamin injections, vitamin d, alpha lipoic acid, nac, glycine, vitamin a... lutein, astaxanthin, zinc, copper, magnesium, potassium etc. Thanks to you, my eyes have restored to almost 20/20 vision in just 8 weeks... I am not making this up... I'll be forever grateful. Thank you so much.

    An important FYI: As a medical professional, it is important that you do not neglect to include negative effects of anything you are presenting as a remedy or preventative measure. While fairly rare, an allergy to astaxanthin and other carotenoids like cantaxanthin can be a big problem for some people, and in high doses it can cause stomach pain. It is also not recommended to take it with blood thinners, cholesterol medications or immune support medications.

  • @Eric.Kennedy

    Thank you for reviewing the studies on Astaxanthin. I started taking 12mg daily 11 years ago after getting some bad sunburns on glacier climbs. Also before taking I had noticed some ocular rosacea symptoms during the winter months when indoor air is very dry.
    As a software engineer, I spend 12+ hours 5-6 days a week staring at screens. I haven't had a bad sunburn since I started taking Astaxanthin and my eye symptoms have also improved. (Though your other video on Omega 3s makes me think taking an Algea Omega 3 supplement also helps prevent dry eye.)
    Another side benefit of taking Astaxanthin for 11 years is that I appear to be somewhat tan year-round even in cloudy Seattle. If it's enough to turn farmed salmon from grey to pink, it is likely doing that to my muscles and fat as well but at least the whites of my eyes are still white.

      Actually, pharmacists know more about prescription drugs than doctors do. If I get a prescription filled, I always ask the pharmacist about the medication, the dosage I got, how to best take it, what other meds or foods it might interact with, and possible side effects. All that is often in a package insert in 2point type, but I can’t read that. A few times she has suggested that I ask my doctor if he really meant the dosage or instructions he gave me. I had one doctor who automatically prescribed vitamin D3 50,000 units for all her patients over 55years old. That seemed high to me, especially with no deficiency symptoms. She didn’t include K3, which is necessary with D3. I asked her why so much, and all she could say was, “I think it’s a good idea.” That was my last appointment with her. The pharmacist had raised her eyebrows when she saw the prescription. She didn’t want to contradict the doctor, so she just said, “You might want to look into this.”
      I had a smart doctor years ago. He died. I haven’t found a good one since.

      @@jnewman1718 From what i've heard, the farmed fish are in small tanks, not particularly well fed, & end up eating what's in the bottom of the tank, if you get my drift. Also, the food they do receive is cheap & therefore lacking in nutrients, so the farmers can make more profit. Unfortunately, it's all about the money these days...

      @@jnewman1718
      Farmed salmon are fed grains, which they eat because they aren’t given anything else. Their meat is much less nutritious than wild salmon.
      Also, farmed salmon are raised in super-crowded pools of water where disease can travel from one to another, so they dump loads of antibiotics in the water, rather than clean it. Their flesh is full of antibiotics which are not good for humans to eat.

    • @suzanneemerson2625
      @suzanneemerson2625 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Farmed salmon are fed grains. They are raised in large pools in extremely crowded conditions. Grains are not their natural food, but they eat it because they are not given anything else. As a result their flesh is not nutritious like wild salmon flesh is. Kind of like the difference between grass-fed beef and corn-fed beef.
      The pools of farmed salmon are overpopulated, and the fish can’t swim freely. The water becomes extremely dirty with fish feces and urine. The fish can become diseased being raised in these conditions. Instead of cleaning the water and putting fewer fish in the pool, they dump loads of antibiotics into the water. So the flesh of farmed salmon is full of antibiotics, which are not healthy for humans to consume.
      Because farmed salmon are not fed a correct diet, they do not turn pink. To get them to be pink so people will buy the farmed salmon, they put chemicals into the water. Wild salmon are naturally pink because of their natural diet.
      Long story short, wild caught salmon is better for your health and for the environment. Unfortunately, it’s more expensive.

I worked the night shift for 13 years and must have been massively deficient in vitamin D because when I took D3, it hit me like a bus. He helped me take control of my health just like you helpe people take control of their health. Thank you for that.
      Dr. Joseph Mercola is a physician and New York Times best-selling author. He was voted the Ultimate Wellness Game Changer by the Huffington Post and has been featured in several national media outlets including Time magazine, the Los Angeles Times, CNN, Fox News, ABC News, TODAY, and The Dr. Oz Show. His mission is to transform the traditional medical paradigm in the United States into one in which the root cause of disease is treated, rather than the symptoms. In addition, he aims to expose corporate and government fraud and mass media hype that often sends people down an unhealthy path.

    maybe I'm trippin' out here, but I used to walk through a park (at night), it's a path I took to get home easily and I used to always had to turn on my phone's flashlight to get through the park... Now I no longer need the flashlight but can see at night easily... It's freakin trippy man (and also amazing). I think I took astaxanthin for maybe less than 1 month to notice this result.

    The problem is that there are 100s of studies showing some benefits of antioxydants for eye inflammation. But we also know taking high levels of antioxydants for long periods of time might have negative effects such as increasing risk of cancer (which to make it even more complicated may vary wildly by individual antioxydant). So unless we have something really targeted for the eyes, we can all just swallow 10 pills a day randomly, I'm not sure this is the right strategy.

      The anti-aptosis property makes it neuroprotective by avoiding neurons dying after a trauma, such as stroke or photooptic stress.
      It's probably cancer protective, but who knows why. Perhaps because it reduces oxidative stress.

    • @Supps-0

      Gelatin astaxanthin supplements are typically made from a combination of astaxanthin (derived from microalgae, such as Haematococcus pluvialis) and gelatin, which is usually sourced from animal collagen (like cows or pigs). The gelatin serves as a capsule or delivery form for the astaxanthin. Some products may use plant-based alternatives like vegan capsules made from agar or cellulose for those avoiding animal products.

    My eyesight was -1.25 and because of COVID I started using my phone too much and know iam at -5 my doctor gave me atropine for 6 months and my eyes start hurting me when I exposed to light and also I start seeing floaters too much is that normal

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey thanks! Atropine can cause pupil dilation which can let more light in, leading to light sensitivity. It can also change thay peripheral light rays focus on the retina. Which may make floaters appear more often. However, if anyone sees a sudden development of floaters, it is best to consult a local eye doctor asap.
      Out of curiosity, when you get your eyes examined and get a new glasses prescription, does your doctor dilate your eyes?

    Hello! I hope I'm not bothering you and this might not be related to the video but I have few questions. Last night I used artificial tears (Santen, OCUTEARS HYDRO+ 10 ml) and after putting it in my eyes started to itch and burn for a few seconds. And then surprisingly only the corner of my left eye (the corner where my nose is) became slightly red or more like I saw a red line appear. It disappeared after some time but I really don't understand why it did that. It didn't happen before. I checked and the artificial tears were clear. It didn't seem discolored. Sometimes it did have bubbles in it but my mom said that it was because I used it already and now it's filled with a little oxygen too. Why did it happen? I won't lie, I'm paranoid. I'm a little scared of using it now. Do you think it's okay to use? And since when I putted it in my eye it dropped into the corner of my eye at first and then it went into my eye perfectly after I turned my head a little, could it be possible that I accidentally washed a little irritant into my eye and that caused that little redness?

Wouldnt it be bad to start taking drops from my age and with knowing the fact that drops have side effects.. And wouldn't it be risky to just leave it as it is and wait until it damages the nerve and when that happens Then start taking treatment as some doctors say. i wish i could visit you because my case is rare in Iraq and the doctors tell me it is nothing, but i cant be confident.
