*LYRICS - Amazing Grace* ------------ Amazing grace, how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now am found Was blind but now I see 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear And grace my fears relieved How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed Through many dangers, toils, and snares I have already come 'Twas grace that brought me safe thus far And grace will lead me home When we've been there ten thousand years Bright shining as the sun We've no less days to sing God's praise Than when we first begun We've no less days to sing God's praise Than when we first begun The album recording features a choir of over 500 of our TH-cam and Patreon friends in the final verse!! I just found them on YT too. Using the YT algorithm, the Lord does work in mysterious ways, LOL. Although I've heard this hymn a million times, I was struck by the next lines in that stanza: We've no less days to sing God's praise Than when we first begun I hope you find joy and peace in God's everlasting eternal love.
Same here. Heard this song and when the violin kicked in, tears welled up. Such wonderfully angelic harmonies. These girls are singing with their hearts and souls, not just their voices.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." [Ephesians 2:8-9]
Absolutely beautiful. God saves people. I had an alcohol issue for years. I cried out to the good lord for help. I have never had a drop of alcohol since. Praise the lord.
It's a excellent rendition of Amazing Grace. That was July 29th which was my wife's 61st birthday and sadly enough is also the day she passed away. So it was fitting to hear this song on that day because now she has gone on to be with the Lord. And I want to thank all y'all for singing this song on that day.
Probably the best known song of salvation and grace. Written by a former slave ship captain and drunkard turned gospel preacher. It reminds me of the man that I was before Jesus Christ came into my life and saved me. I can’t tell you how happy and excited I am that the Petersens have performed this classic of God’s love and grace!
"this song have saved me through my fears, loneliness and anxiety attacks, it helped me realized that no matter how bumpy the road in my journey, i shouldnt lose my grip... its been 7 months and im finally healed and is again back on track"... god's grace is so powerful...
My wife, Margaret, is one of those who joined on the final stanza with over 400 other voices. I’ve edited my version, bringing her voice to the front …. It’s great that way😂 ….. for me. I play it all the time on my IPad. Thank you Petersens …. you’re truly a unique blessing for all of us fans!

Love it! This hymm has special meaning for me also. Back in 1964 when I was in elementary school 4th grade, every morning before class our teacher had us recite the Pledge of Allegiance and then we sang Amazing Grace.
I've Picked , Played , sung with Trios , quartets , Funerals , Weddings and and the Red, White and Bluegrass festival here , I've Picked 50+ yrs. and without a doubt , with the Dobro, Fiddle , doghouse bass , flat top , and you two , three singing ,,,, That's the probably the best I've ever heard Amazing Grace ! That feller playing Dobro , has got a Ear ,,, he'sa great dobro picker !
We enjoyed Mother in the background, how proud she is. What a gift from God to raise great children, who all play and sing, Mum and Dad aswell. You'all are played in our home constantly, you keep our vibration high and our energy frequencies going. We love you all for the gift you share. we send you music on your you tube to everyone we know, here in Australia
Emmett doesn't often show his feelings, but his dobro speaks for him.Ellen's beautiful performance not only for her excellent voice, but she knows what she's singing about. You're a team and Karen,Katie,Julianne and Matt also perfect!
As always, the Petersen's are a warm light in an increasingly dark world. Lovely intro by Emmett and the conviction in Ellen's soaring vocals made this very special.
i am a professional operatic tenor, but my heart is with the songs of the Lord. I love your version of this beautiful song of hope and praise. Music like this stirs the heart, and I hope you stay together for many years in the future.
'my heart is with the songs of the Lord' Such a beautiful way to put it, Steffen. As the Petersens are siblings, I suspect they will always be together 😊
Absolute Angelic voices. The talents of the Petersens brings tears to my eyes. We played this beautiful song at my mother's funeral. Their rendition makes me Calm, peaceful. God bless you all. I love all you do. Mark
I’m currently away on a mission trip, in Paraguay, “working on a building, working on a building, working on a building for my Lord, for my Lord” and ministering to school kids (in the public schools). I’m tired, weak, and worn, so being able to hear you do this beautiful hymn is fuel for my soul. Thank you for continually being a blessing to me!
My wife and I just adore the way that using this song Ellen it is absolutely beautiful. I have heard numerous people sing this song and well I guess I song along with people that’s in church and stuff that might sing it but you are 10 out of 10 absolutely beautiful you can take it from this 78 year old Farm boy from Canada we love you there is an a day go by that we don’t listen to the PETERSON‘s May the Lord bless you and keep you may his face shine upon you and bring you his peace
Emma here! My preacher and his wife saw you perform this in person a few months ago... These folks have heard gobs of renditions of Amazing Grace in their lifetime, yet they said this was the best one they have ever heard. Tonight, a very dear person gifted me the Ozark Mountain Home album for Christmas. I listened to the entire thing in my bedroom, but when it got to Amazing Grace, I had tears welling in my eyes. This song and your band are undoubtedly a tool God is using. First of all, no other musicians have ever hardly moved me to tears. Second of all, few are so humble in their work as you are. That makes every note resonate more. And third, to hear so many voices, from so many different parts of the world and so many different walks of life, come together to praise the one true God, is so beautiful I can't even describe it! And to know that I am one in those hundreds of voices is just amazing! What a privilege! I pray the whole world can have a chance to hear this song right here! And yes! I am awaiting the day when the believers let it ring out through heaven! God bless you all! I know I have said this before, but please don't stop what you are doing or the way you are doing it! It means so much! ❤️🙏
They say there are no coincidences. One of the first things I saw when I opened TH-cam was this song. I can't explain how much I needed it. I didn't know how much I needed it until I started listening. I always enjoy your music.
"Amazing Grace" should always sound majestic and connect you with heaven. With the Petersens, it's no exception! Thank you for your magnificent performance.
Just also listened to the album version, with the choir joining in for the final verse. Goosebumps. Emmet's intro, Ellen's voice, Katie's violin ... This may very well become one of my favorite renditions. Thanks, all of you Petersens !
Dear Petersens. Your version became an Amazing Grace for me. It´s the Lord´s voice beating in the soul of whose are suffering in faith and love for the life under any circumstances. God bless you dear Petersens to continue the mission of transmitting the faith in the best version of what is most precious. Thank you very much! I love you!
Your family is very blessed by Him and I think all your skills and all your smile and the love you share to the rest of world is a gift. Thanks a lot Petersen family from an Italian catholic friend. Ciao. Gianfranco 🇮🇹♥️.
I hear the plaintive wail of the fiddle and I hear something more sweet than just amazing grace - I hear echos of my granddads fiddle joining in with my mothers piano, and my siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles joining in at another Christmas singalong. Truth is I think that was the main draw. Funny, he was raised in a north-woods shack with a 5th grade education but he could beat anyone at cards and taught himself to play by ear. Neither one ever needed a sheet of music - it would actually slow mom down when she had to read notes. Hum a few notes of a strange tune and they could conjure it up. What a gift...
Born in Belfast in the 60’s we moved to the states dad played in a band at night 4 nights a week in NY I remember this song and I Love your rendition thank you for the memories ladies .
Imagine the day where everything ends, the day after all wars, all suffering, all pain... and those who were persecuted on Earth, those who stayed off sin, those who died for Christ name, stop and praise Him in Heaven, in His almightyt throne! This song would be the perfect one to sing to our king! Maranatha O come back Jesus, we need you!
How precious did that Grace appear the hour I first believed. And then the people that don't believe in God. If there was just the way we could explain to them what happened that very moment we said yes "I Believe In You Lord!!
I am surprised! I just found, at the top of the search results, “Amazing Grace” uploaded within 17 hours by the Petersens, one of my favorite bands on youtube. It was just after I’d finished watching the tv program about “Amazing Grace” featuring how popular and beloved it is in the US, from African Americans in New Orleans to Cherokees in Oklahoma. Thank you, Petersens❤
As a parent myself, I am so, so impressed and happy for Mom Petersen. Your family is nothing short of amazing. You should be quite happy that your hard work and dedication to your family has helped y'all reach heights that most will never see. Handsome boys, beautiful girls, and talent that truly inspires. Thank you. Sincerely.
How can anyone listen to this and not be moved by it ? I cried from the time it started. So beautiful and the music and voices were amazing. Praise our Lord and God bless you all. 🙏
Just give me chills hearing such beautiful music, played by a most beautiful family!!!! And now off to bed with those harmonies fresh in my mind! Thank you Petersen's!!!!
I love the Petersens! So many of the their videos are masterpieces to me, and this one is my favourite yet! As I listened to the opening guitar solo I started to feel the emotion of this song and I started to tear up. I am a 58 year old guy, avid golfer, sports fan, etc. and I am not the emotional type (starting about 50 years ago, I basically stopped shedding tears). So, when music can stir me deeply, it is an extremely rare event. Thank you so much for this truly beautiful performance. 🙏
Thank you for this. My father passed away in 2019. This was his favorite song. My brother and myself preached his funeral and we sang this to honor my father. Brings back wonderful memories of my hero my mentor my best friend.
Oh my! Ellen, you took us before the throne of grace to worship at his feet. This was just a small taste of eternity. All of your voices are superb, of course, but knowing that you believe what you are singing makes it all the better. Thank you.
Amazing Hymn !!! Everything is amazing in this ancient hymn! Amazing Emmett's introduction with the Dobro! Amazing Ellen's wonderful voice! Amazing interlude with Katie's fiddle! Amazing the third verse sung like a bridge (absolutely brilliant!) Amazing the passage to the key of E major in the fourth verse (absolutely brilliant!) and the three-part choir that follows! It is all truly amazing !!! I and all the Italian fans love you guys !!!❤❤👍 And look forward to hearing the great Petersens fan chorus!!!
Hey Roberto! 😁 Emmett's Dobro introduction I would have not thought of to begin with, but it was genius. I think it sounded very Americana, which made my heart swell in a neat way! (It is special that so many folks from around the world can experience our musical culture through them too!) Ellen's vocals were fantastic and so moving, as always! Overall, I just REALLY like this arrangement. Best version of Amazing Grace I've ever heard! 👏
@@emmajo1925 Hi Emma. I don't know if it's the best version of Amazing Grace out there, but it's really very innovative. In addition to Emmett's intro, which is really beautiful, I wanted to highlight this moment of the song that makes it fascinating and unique. At 3:35, as the third verse (a bridge?) ends with a G chord (instead of D), we have first a passage in A7, and then a further passage in B7, chords that perfectly prepare the fourth (choral) verse, which rises by one tone in E major. It is something really beautiful that, in the choral version of the album, will be even more majestic and fascinating. In short, our friends, once again prove to be absolutely brilliant in studying the arrangements of their songs.
I’m moved beyond words, as if I was at the end of a weekend revival. From the arrangements to Ellen’s heartfelt and soulful voice, you’ve just brought me closer to our creator, and for that I’m truly grateful. You all are truly “Amazing.” t t t
I've only found this group just recently wen my dad passed away on the 1st Feb 23 I was actually looking for " I No who hold my hands" and I come across the Peterson and I fell in love with them their music and calm singing just calm my heart so much...❤❤
*LYRICS - Amazing Grace*
------------
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
Through many dangers, toils, and snares
I have already come
'Twas grace that brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home
When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we first begun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we first begun

I love you folks so much. What beautiful music and souls
Emmett's Dobro introduction I would have not thought of to begin with, but it was genius.
@@Roberto-pd8vn It was so creatively accomplished, and I loved the variety they used in each verse as well!
The sound and playing of the resonator guitar was amazing. Brilliantly preformed and sung by all.
I’m moved beyond words, as if I was at the end of a weekend revival. From the arrangements to Ellen’s heartfelt and soulful voice, you’ve just brought me closer to our creator, and for that I’m truly grateful. You all are truly “Amazing.”
