    In this tutorial, we go over the falloff node that's new to Houdini 17. The falloff node can be applied to all kinds of scenarios, including simulation, rigging, modeling, shading, and whenever you're trying to blend attribute values across points.

    Just saw you're channel. You explained it deeply enough. Hopefully other tutorials are like that.

    would it be possible to drive vellum properties with that falloff? say if you want to inflate certain regions of an object for example

      Yep, absolutely. The falloff node can work for any attribute you can imagine. Find the attribute that allows for inflation, and you're good to go!

    Hey, great tutorial, thanks! Anyone tried to re-create this with distance along geometry node (since from Houdini 18 falloff was replaced by it)? I simply made unhide Sop falloff, but it would be nice to know if the other one works the same?

      Hey Karolina! This video was before Houdini 18, so I imagine you probably could figure something out with distance along geometry node. You could also go the vex route as well, and that's a fun challenge if you're new to it. The great thing about Houdini is that there's always a new approach to tinker around with. Cheers.

      I'm trying to do this but I'm too stoopid. Can you give me a pointer as to how you go about it?

    Hey Tyler so im assuming if i used the same technique but maybe with fracturing i can easily control when and where my effects applies to right?

    • @cgforge
      @cgforge  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah totally! The falloff node is basically just giving you an attribute to play with. What you do with that attribute is all up to you
