- Child abuse in the Catholic Church was long a taboo subject, kept under wraps by senior church dignitaries. But in the pursuit of justice, the Church’s inactivity eventually prompted the victims of child abuse to take matters into their own hands.
"For too long the Church has denied, ignored and hushed up abuse. The victims are entitled to justice." In September 2018, Cardinal Reinhard Marx, head of the German Bishops’ Conference, uttered these words and apologized to all victims of sexual abuse by Catholic officials in Germany. But Matthias Katsch, one of the most prominent representatives of victims in Germany, maintains that the Church’s handling of abuse remains problematic even now. A former pupil at the private Canisius-Kolleg school and spokesperson for the "Squared Table” victims’ initiative uncovered the abuse scandal in the Catholic Church in Germany in 2010. For over thirty years, his abusers’ crimes had stayed covered up. Then, Matthias Katsch and his former classmates broke the silence when they turned to the public with accusations against their former teachers - Jesuit priests Peter R. and Wolfgang S. And what happened next? Not much, it seems. Both men were spotted in Chile after 2010. Impatient with the lack of progress, Matthias Katsch took matters into his own hands and set out to Chile to find the abusers - and their next victims. Filmmaker Eva Müller went with him.

As a child, abuse had fractured my mind. At 18, several of my classmates brought charges against the group of men involved. I had a flashback of the location I was taken: they named the same place. I couldn't bring myself to read the entire newspaper article. Some men were found guilty, but the leader simply lost his job and moved to a new location. The memory was buried again and did not re-emerge for years. You can't expect damaged children to run home and tell. They are ashamed...and some feel guilty. They have sometimes disobeyed their parents to go somewhere...or skipped school. Mothers need to watch their children for signs that something is wrong. And public programs like this make mothers aware of the possibility.

Child abuse should not have a statute of limitations. It takes years for these children to become safe enough to talk about their abuse.

If we are to expose sexual abuse of priests, then we have to expose homosexuality among the priesthood. For most sexual abuse victims are homosexual encounters, I quite gather.

Having been sexually assaulted by a priest, I am disgusted by the nun’s excuses for the priest and blaming of the victims. Either she has led an extremely idyllic life or, like so many Catholics, chooses to check her brains at the door and toe the Catholic line. Absolutely shameful!!

Don't ever feel you are obligated to give someone a hug or kiss. It is based on your comfort level, if your not comfortable say no. If the person becomes irritated that you didn't give them a hug, that's typically a sign that, that person doesn't respect boundaries and that is a major red flag.

I was abused by father john Archibald in Scotland I had an interview with Cardinal Winning about it. He tried to make light of it and made no overtures about sorting the situation. I am still feeling unresolved.
Monsignor at my church felt me up while I was on his lap during ny first confession. I leapt from his lap and kicked him in the shin. My mother pulled us all out of the RC school immediately.

I was confirmed in Scotland by Archbishop Keith O'Brien. He wasn't an abuser as such- but his visits to the seminary were unorthodox, to say the least. What Sister Carolina was saying might have applied there- but never when you're talking about kids, or older men with teenagers.

I attended a Christian Brothers school in England. I am not aware of any sexual abuse (although it was rumoured). But I definitely witnessed extreme and brutal physical abuse - often for very trivial offences. I was personally strapped (hit forcibly with a thick purpose-made leather strap) six times across the palm for not being word perfect when I recited a poem. The poem was the Brook by Alfred Lord Tennyson. Perhaps rather unfairly I still dislike the poems of Tennyson. (So much for the efficacy of teaching through punishment.) I also witnessed a 12 yr old boy similarly beaten on his hands, bare legs, arms and back of his neck for answering back. It was a frenzied attack. Together with my classmates I took up a petition and went to the headmaster. The Christian brother in question was "retired" to Ireland. Fortunately the headmaster was one of the decent Christian Brothers. But they are few and far between. The whole order should be consigned to the dustbin of history.

Going to confession as a child I was confused as to why the priest kept on prying.... "what else have you done?" Kept on asking the same question. I had to make up things to tell him but he was never satisfied.

If the Catholic Church wants to take a step in the right direction, they could start with not just dismissing the brothers, priests and nuns that are complicit with these crimes(including the Pope), but also turn over all evidence to the proper authorities in every country so that any who can be prosecuted may be done so as well as excommunicating them entirely from the Church.
Growing up in Manila, I myself know of a priest who was abusing guy schoolmates in my school. If every second person you know have had a bad experience with priests and nuns, this problem is very rampant indeed that needs to be blown out in the open.

In Canada we remember what the church did to indigenous children in the residential schools. The bodies of 215 children where found in B.C. recently. Over 4000 children died nation wide in residential schools run by the Catholic Church.
As a Chilean and previous member of the catholic church, this was so hard to see, but it helps me remind why i left that religion (among other things of course). Everything I’m able to see in Carolina is denial and a horrible soul. Someone knows if this woman is still in that place?? I would gladly go to visit her someday…

Sister Carolina is well versed in twisting words and actions. If you get abused you must have done something to provoke it. It takes two to get abused, doesn't it? I went to a catholic school and although I didn't get sexually abused, emotional abuse and a distorted world view was on the daily time table. I was full of rage for the church for many years afterwards. And when I told someone about my experience later most people wouldn't believe me because church people are all good and only have the best of intentions to make the world a better place. Yes, not all catholics are like that, still there is always bad seeds in between.

The Babylonian priests did this in broad daylight on a regular basis as it was part of their custom as well as in other nations during that time period. The Babylonian religion was pagan if not Satanic. Pedophilia and satanism go hand in hand. Nobody ever stomped out sexual abuse in the Roman Church at any time in it's history. The very first time the subject was ever brought up was at a council that took place in Elvira Spain in 309 AD. They started setting up their priest protection system that we are facing today in the year 1866. Look where the children are and you will find a pedophile. As some of the few people with knowledge and wisdom they knew that these issues would happen even back then. I can't say I'm furious with them for betraying their congregations because their customs of child sex made and their promises to protect children was completely unfavorable in the first place.

I’m an eighty three year old woman ,and have never ever experienced anything like what I’ve been reading, and I’ve lived half my life in each of Scotland and England, when you consider the amount of Catholic Clergy there is in the world today, it’s a small minority, and I know it shouldn’t happen at all, it was the plan of a woman,( I can’t remember her name) who planted over 1,000 pedophiles into seminary’s to become priests, and as a practicing Catholic I don’t sweep anything under the carpet, I know the perpetrators who do these despicable things will answer to God,

Im a Catholic and had my high school in a Catholic school run by nuns. Here in my place I really had nice and great experiences with the priests and nuns. I would sometimes be in touch with them until now. But these kind of actions are unforgivable.

When I was 12 years old, one of the kids in town taught me how to ride a Kawasaki 250. So, I learned how to ride a motorcycle. Then, I asked my father to buy me one. He was living with his witch he chose over my beautiful and sweet mother. And then he said to me, "I'd rather buy you a coffin. Motorcycles are too dangerous." Then he added: "Why don't you learn piano lessons instead." So, I was sent across the streets where there was a big church and they were giving piano lessons. A nun taught me how to position the fingers and do the scale with both hands. I taught it was so easy, I began to like it. But in the next round, at the music room, there was an old priest. So, he called me to the piano. Grabbed me by my waist and sat me on his laps and began to fondling me between my legs. And he managed to get that far because he was real quick in doing so. But I was so shocked, I shook real fast too and took off running back home. Next, my stepmother; the witch, called him three days later, because I won't say why I didn't wanted the piano lessons anymore. And he showed up to "sanctify" that condominium with "holy water" all over. I was so angry I had to face him again doing that after what he did to me. Little girls usually are afraid to talk this thing out, because of the predilection the Catholics tend to show for boys. They give them everything and place them on a pedestal, to see which girl deserves one of those spoiled brats. The last pervert they threw at me, I brought him to court because he won't stop harassing me. He finally stop talking to me. You can slap them or even kick them in the groin and they still won't respect the lady. And they spend more time carefully building the next "better" way they can hurt a lady. And this goes for all the cruel ones that are not catholic as well, instead of repenting and turn around. But in the catholic faith, it is because of the boys are pampered by that religion. In my experience, I am convinced that boys who do that, lack the capability to fall in love and respect a woman. Only grown up and mature men can do that. And ultimately, they will never admit it is their main problem. They treat women like rabbits made out of rubber. And be aware, after they get through with their undesirable girls and women, they want to "extend it" to the lefties; Russians and Chinese with a "good luck" farewell. Why should a mother bring up girls to be violent and slap or smack anyone back, is he younger than a three years old? If a boy is not old enough to understand that no means no, he belong in the military if he must be violent, not among civilians. How about teaching him that girls and women are not to be touched unless you are ready for the responsibility behind all that "good time" you imagine is free. I'm glad about the six feet restriction due to the virus. Perhaps they will learn autocontrol and stop their abusive behavior.

Not all priests are perverted. There is a lot of wisdom and good in the Church. This kind of sexual abuse is very well known, it is time that the Church addresses this problem in depth to prevent new cases. Which must not be easy at all, given the nature of the problem. The abusers count on the shame of the victims. The same sort of abuse happens in other situations where there are vulnerable children and abusers. This is not only a problem of the Church, but this does not make this power abuse less evil.
Why only catholic church pedophiles are brought to the public knowledge? What the Media have to say about pedophiles of other religions, who get married to 6-7-year-old girls? Pedophiles, no matter to which religion they belong to should be remarked in the same way , and the rule of law should put them in jail.

Being a Catholic and having an uncle that was a victim from a small Irish town in Ill. He didn't come forward until others came forward. He lived across the street from the priest house and church. My Irish grandmother trusted this man with her children on a daily basis. She stayed strong with the church and wouldn't speak of it. I felt so horriable for my uncle. This abuse broke him as a kid and it carried out through his life until he spoke out. That took courage when you come from a very religious family.

Back in the 90s there was talk that I was to be excommunicated for "lying to the police" about a priest sexually assaulting my school friend. The priest went on to become a school counsellor after that, putting more boys at risk. Then he mysteriously disappeared when all the scandals started coming out about 15 years back. Watching this video I was moved to share a testimony of my spiritual experience and the dream I dreamed, which God has given me, concerning Roman Catholic Church. In my dream, I saw a Parish Church building of medium size where mass service was being held. The church building was almost full of people on its sitting capacity. The mass attendees were all sitting and the service was going on. What was shocking was that the one who was performing the service on the altar who was supposed to be the priest was completely naked from head to feet. He was not standing, but lying, facing upward and floating on the air, just one or two feet above the altar table. All people could see him completely naked. Yet, it seemed that they did not mind it, and even enjoyed the sight as if nothing abominable was going on at the altar. I sensed an atmosphere of quietness and loneliness inside the church building. The people were in slumber and seemed to be hypnotized.
When I woke up in the morning, I was somewhat troubled in my thoughts as I recalled the dream. Yet, immediately I received the light of its meaning. The message is clear that it is about the spiritual condition and state of the "Roman Catholic Church", its leaders and members. God revealed to me how 'abominable' is the Roman Catholic Church before Him. She is 'naked', 'blind' and 'deceived'. ( Revelation 4:14-20 - The church of Laodiceans; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12; Romans 10:1-3; 11:8-10; Matthew 15:14; Ephesians 5:12-14; Hosea 4:1-18; Zephaniah 3:1-4 )
Since my birth, I grew up following the Roman Catholic doctrine, belief and practices until the day I got 'born again in my spirit' when I prayed the 'prayer of justification' in the Name of the Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. On that day of my new birth, instantly I stopped drinking alcoholic drinks and smoking at the 'same time', for THE LORD had REMOVED from within me the desire of it. Immediately I was filled with the 'HOLY GHOST'. Afterward, something like a SEED, broke open in my heart, wherein out of it an UNSPEAKABLE JOY filled my whole being within that lasted for many days. Then it was followed by many godly and biblical spiritual experiences and one of these was to dream dreams. ( Acts 2:17; 2:38-39; 3:19-20 ; Ephesians 3:16-20; 5:18; John 3:3-8; 1 Peter 1:8; Matthew 13:23 )
May the followers of the Roman Catholic Church be awakened and know the Truth that will set them free, which is in Christ Jesus alone and the Word of God, the Holy Bible. They have the zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. They are lukewarm, because their faith is not according to the Word and Truth. Having the form of godliness, but denying the POWER thereof. The Roman Catholic Church is HEAVILY CONTAMINATED with FALSE doctrine, beliefs and practices ( including traditions ) that makes it "ABOMINABLE" before God. It is because they take lightly the Word of God to live and walk in it's POWER and WISDOM which is Christ Jesus in every believer who is saved, born of God in the spirit and filled with the Holy Spirit, that they may walk with God in Spirit and in Truth in all holiness, righteousness and justice of the Spirit, which the Lord Jesus had 'set up' in the Cross of Calvary. The message of the LORD our God in a vision of my head upon my bed concerning the Roman Catholic Church is very clear that all it's followers ( leaders and members ) should take heed to this VERY SERIOUS WARNING!!!
I hope and pray that each catholic followers will seriously examine their individual spiritual state and condition before God for the sake of their soul.
May they all be awakened, received the white raiment that they may be clothed, their eyes be anointed with eye salve that they may be healed from their blindness and be free from deception that is prevailing within the RCC. ( Revelation 3:18 )
They must know and remember that The LORD our God did not placed anything between man and His Son our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for his or her salvation and redemption; not even angels, saints nor our fellow man and any material things or images!!!
The BEST thing the 'catholic followers' can do is to TURN TO the WORD of GOD, the HOLY BIBLE. READ, STUDY AND MEDITATE upon it always that they may know the TRUTH that will set them FREE from FALSE doctrine, beliefs and practices ( including traditions ). ( Psalm 1; Colossians 3:16; John 8:31-32 )
