Stopped my drills in the pool bc I felt a muscle pull, looked this up on my phone, and managed to fix the issue. My kick is so much better and stronger already. Best its been since I started working on my breaststroke. Thank you! My glutes, hamstrings and quads are gonna burn later. I love it!

I self learned front crawl after retiring and Now I can breaststroke well, too, but the flaws pointed out in this video I may have a couple. My legs may push towards my stomach and my kick is a bit close to the surface. I will work on the technique more to be a more power breaststroker.

How to improve leg strength.. My kick doesn't get me moving.. I think I got the technique (mostly) but not much forward acceleration when I kick though. Need to improve core strength in legs. What is best exercise to strengthen without hurting one's back ?.
What is missing is the emphasis on how you push the water while flexing. I tend to go faster if I push the water from the top of my feet after doing the bend knee and flex the toes. But I do not see that as part of instruction.
@@irenaanna You know when i started swimming i can't swim 15 meters but now with in 3 months my progress is 400 meters of swimming continusly with 30 sec rest after 100 meters
@@irenaanna Thanks for sharing the video. I can swim a decent breaststroke but I need to improve distance per stroke and needs to make it a bit explosive. So working on arm pull so I can swim faster and on surface. Before this I experienced going down underwater after kick and then becomes difficult to do arm pull.

Is it legit to add a dolphin kick in his breaststroke? I do exactly the same thing except instead of sliding with my arms, I deep and do a dolphin kick too with my legs like a breaststroke kick and I use my back to push instead of only sliding. This is more energy consuming, but much faster too. I am a butterfly swimmer, so I use as often as possible my undulations.
33s is a great time, to be able to swim like that your technique is probably already great! The better you are the harder it is to get even better, for sprints I recommend working on your strength at the gym!
@@irenaanna I’ve been working on increasing the strength and power in the gym but it seems very hard! I’m 41 and I’ve been pursuing my goal for years! I wish I could break my personal best for last time but the anxiety is holding me back from that
@@irenaanna I am 67 and learning breast stroke . Pull is easier for me . But twisting of foot and bringing them back is getting difficult . Today with kickboard only kick practice . It’s 7.30 in India . I swim in the evenings
I have a question, during the kick phase when your turning your feet outward, do you rotate your leg to turn your feet outward or do you use your ankle joint to turn your feet outward?

Kickboard allows you to work on the kick itself and that's more than recommended! Fins for butterfly, not breaststroke

Great question! The ankle has to turn the foot outward, but knees move apart too slightly
