I am so glad that you also doing camera comparisons, wow, u are great as this is one of my tough decisions as of late, which camera to get. Thanks a lot man.
This is a great video, thank you so much for the comparison it makes it easier when you can watch the comparative details rather than having to copy them down again thank you very much!!!
stefan adavichira they are both great camera's. In my opinion the D810 is the camera to beat, but wouldn't you feel really let down if you bought a D810 because I think it is the best and then you come to find you like something from Canon better. You can rent a camera and try it out, you can read reviews on camera's (or watch video reviews), but in the end, it will need to come down to something you really need. For instance - the Nikon D750 is out now and it looks really good and is anywhere from 600 to 1000 dollars less than the D810. The D750 gets 6.5 FPS where the D810 gets 5 - although, if one has a better buffer, a fast card could increase the overall FPS you get when the buffer starts getting full. The D750 is just over 24 mp, but the D810 sensor is over 36 mg, so if you don't want to have larger photo size you may not want the D810, or if you are wanting to print larger pictures you may want the D810. Also, Canon has great camera's too - not just the 5D M3. You should do some searching and I would suggest looking at Photo magazines that came out end of year... many of them have their picks for newly released camera's for doing different types of Photography.
Excuse me ! Supersaf TV..may you give me some idea..? now I using Canon 6D with 85 F1.2 and 70-200 II...and I really interest with Nikon D800...so should I move to Nikon ? please kindly advice and give me the right way...thx
The D810 is the clear winner here in my opinion. It seems as if they specifically targeted the Mark 3. Your presentation was a vast improvement from the last video I watched, and you noticeably slowed down when you realized your pace was too fast. Well done.
I would take the Canon since all my lenses are Canon :) But Nikon and Canon are both good, it's individual just find out which menu interface u like more and how it feels. The most important are your lenses anyways :) body will be replaced every 2 years so keep that in mind. I also have many Nikon friends that are as happy as i am of my canon 6D! :) Respect competition because that is what makes technology grow ! By the way, Great Video!
Hello everybody, which camera is better for night photography and time lapse photography, are both comaptible with Bulb Ramping Promote Control. thank you!!!
I'm not understanding this, how are they competitive when the Nikon is 36mp? My d600 has more mp and probably better resolution than the Canon. While mp is not the end all be all, the review didn't cover dynamic range, which was the biggie for me. Especially with the new Sony A7S..
Well, I'm using the D800 for video and photography, but i really dont consider buying the D810 because the only feature that matters is the 1080p 60 Frames. And still this upgrade isnt worth 3000 $. They should at least give already a 4K Video Option with 25 Frames because this is what you get for a ("cheap") GH4..
SuperSaf TV !!! I always watch your reviews.. Im a photojournalist in our school. Using dslr is not allowed. So can you please review or compare some of canon, nikkon or sony Digital cameras with 15 - 16.2 megapixels? About 4-9 thousand in peso :)) I'll wait for your reply. Thanks! Godbless :D
The D800/800E was on par with the 5DmkIII and different features appealed to different photographers, Nikon for image quality and Canon for video but the improvments on the D810 with up to 7fps in DX mode, better ISO range, Expeed 4 and a better sensor, for me as a landscape photographer it's a no brainer the Nikon is the better camera
You didn't tell the viewers that the pixel size on the Canon 5D mark III is 6.25 and the Nikon D810's pixel size is 4.88 due to the results of cramming all those pixels in. This translates to better dynamic range and low light in the Canon 5D mark III More pixels results in a bigger image but not necessarily better images. Just saying..
Nope. Not even one footage comparison to test for so very many performance flaws both cameras may have in video: low light, auto focus, ISO, stabilization..etc. You just sit in one chair reading out specs and posting graphics. Thanks for the effort but I need more information to make up my mind than just what i can get from the product brochures online, even in 2017.
Good improvements, at this point, IMHO the Nikon leaves the Canon for dead. However, when Canon releases the mark 4 it should level the playing field. Disappointing that neither has 4k considering the Panasonic gh4 has 4k for a fraction of the price.
It's funny how you said "NIKON feels awkward", here we are talking about the D810..do you even tried it in your hands?? I've tried both the 5D III and the D800 and the only flaw of the D800 was the grip and now they have fixed it!
andre1k28 ***** I am disappointed with D810 because it is not capable of shooting true Full Frame video like 5D3 does. During the so called by Nikon "FX-based movie format" a narrower field of view (not only in the height for obtaining the 16:9 but also in the width) of the lens will be used by D810 for the video. This is a very important disadvantage. The information appeared yet only in the Nikon-Asia website: When using the "FX-based movie format" of D810, "the width of the image area is approx. 91% of that in the still image FX format". This means that in FX video D810 uses only the 32,6mm of the sensor's width while 5D3 uses 35.8mm for the same function.
Canon is not as good as Nikon in stills. Canon is not as good at film as a Blackmagic or a RED. Canon is not as good. ...end of story. Get a less expensive but better Nikon for stills (better lens' too). People buy lens adapters to use Nikon Lens on their canons. 5D M3 looks like a waste of money. people only buy them for the name, people who don't care about performance or quality of imagery.
Synismyhero sorry, I disagree completely. I have only owned Nikon, but Canon is not only a great camera company - with many great lens for their camera's - but they also make really good Photo printers; I know, because I own one. I would think from a comment like that, you've really never compared pictures coming from a Canon camera. Right now, I happen to think the D810 is the best for the price range (maybe even better than Nikon's higher end, but I don't know that for a fact), but I would be happy to have a Canon 5D M3 if someone gave me one...I wouldn't buy one because I already invested in a lot of Nikon lens and would need an adapter to use all the Nikon lens I've invested in. But if someone gave me a 5D M3, I would invest in an adapter also ... as well as some of Canon's' great lens.
So now Nikon are doing stagnated upgrades? Whats the point? Just bring out a d900 instead of this! Watch Canon come out with a 5dmk4 that will blow this away
It's standard Nikon practise and has been for the last 15 years. And the previous years we've seen that standard Canon practise is to wait with a new release/announced release until after nikon announces a new model (not an slightly improved version of a current model like this one).
Tenebrius1963 you both made valid points, comparing a D810 to a 2 year old camera is silly as whenever nikon or canon release new cameras they are normally the best at the time. (key words: at the time)
Nice "Top Trumps" style video, comparing specs on paper, but unfortunately it doesn't reflect the hands-on experience of owning either of these cameras. The camera body is only part of the system, in order to compare you would need to evaluate how these cameras perform with their respective lenses, flash systems ect. in a real world environment.
You're all clever boasting about your specs and which is the best truth is they're all just cameras they all have shortfalls and there will be a new one coming out in 6 months again thats how they make money from boasters like you guys. At the end of the day it is the result that counts! Any camera can take a great photo in the right hands if the composition is good. Its all about how creative and artistic the individual can be. So whilst you boasting who has the best and how much you spent, whilst real photographers are taking photo's. You can spend $10k on a body but your photo's will still probably look like shit!
Tenebrius1963 well seeing as I take photos for a hobby the a7 is perfect, the Nikon and canon are just not value for money for me, other people may be able to find that money for photography but I'm only 16 and earn $15'000 a year, so money is really limited.
the ending could not have been more pathetic. I am processing images, while listening to you dribble. I'm considering the 810 or 1dx. Suck it up man, solid review until the end
Good vid Saf, crisp and to the point. Well done.
I am so glad that you also doing camera comparisons, wow, u are great as this is one of my tough decisions as of late, which camera to get. Thanks a lot man.
Saf, well done video. Clear and precise. I'd go for the D810 ;-)
btw, with the D810, you can assign specific card slots for video and stills.
Great vid Saf
Direct, simple and just what I was looking for. Thanks :)
This is a great video, thank you so much for the comparison it makes it easier when you can watch the comparative details rather than having to copy them down again thank you very much!!!
D800 vs. 5D3 is more fair comparison. With the new added stuff to D810, the winner is clear.
I'll get the Nikon. I already have a Nikon and I really like it, so I'm sure the d810 won't disappoint.
hello I am a bit confused between the Nikon D810 and the Cannon 5D Mark 3. Which one is better please?

nice vid mate
In a dilemma whether to go for 5D or D810. 5D is tried and tested, however, it is almost 3 years old by now - quite a vintage in this digital world!!
Awesome video... Much needed...
nice review :) i have a d810 and its bad ass

Do you know if the d810 can transfer pics/videos to my iphone wirelessly?
Ronny Sison are u sure? I thought only the d610
It seems like D810 kicks butt...
You a not a photographer, you don't have the cameras, why do you review them? It is very sad: to read a text from a prompter.
Hello everybody, which camera is better for night photography and time lapse photography, are both comaptible with Bulb Ramping Promote Control. thank you!!!

please keep a comparsion for canon 700d to the 600d
D810 is the best of the best
Qin Benjamin i have a d7200 but this 5d seems to have the upper hand
Your D7200 isn’t even in the same league as the 810 or 5D
SuperSaf TV !!! I always watch your reviews.. Im a photojournalist in our school. Using dslr is not allowed. So can you please review or compare some of canon, nikkon or sony Digital cameras with 15 - 16.2 megapixels? About 4-9 thousand in peso :)) I'll wait for your reply. Thanks! Godbless :D
Yeah, the D810 is more impressive, the few features the MK3 has over the D810 won't be useful in real world situations.
love nikon d810
Excellent video -- good job with the comparisons....
D810 best camera
The 5DMKIII actually has a LOW ISO setting (50) which beats out the D810's 64 ISO...
The D810 can boost down to 32 ISO
Suck nikon b*tchhh
***** thats a good point..
buy a real video camera for video , these are for photography i dont care what they lack in video!
The D800/800E was on par with the 5DmkIII and different features appealed to different photographers, Nikon for image quality and Canon for video but the improvments on the D810 with up to 7fps in DX mode, better ISO range, Expeed 4 and a better sensor, for me as a landscape photographer it's a no brainer the Nikon is the better camera

davidjewels Realy??? better dynamic range??? go back to school please...
+Mark Kuys *Really? Go back to school please.
Nice vid saf
Thanks buddy!
Just a correction. The 5DMKIII drops down to ISO50, not just 100.
but that's extended, it's useful only in JPEG mode
and D810 drops down to ISO32 if you count in the extended range...
D810 with the 5D Mark III, according to a yet to buy such, advising e with

Canon any day... So much more ergonomic. Nikon feels awkward.
thankfully we have many models and brands to choose from :)
***** And never really liked any of them.
Canon fanboy spotted!! :D

put magic lantern on 5dmkiii and redo the video
Lol, 5d mk3 has ISO 50 !!! But the video shows, it has only 100+
Hallo, thats the extended range, D810 has ISO32 if you extend it...
Just show the images stats dont mean much please

Bryan Watkins I agree with you completely ... I was actually let down that there wasn't any comparison with photo's from both camera's.
Bryan Watkins exactly
thanks guy
Love Canon .. :* 5D mark III
the d810 is actually heavier than the 5d3.. 5d3 body only is 860 grams.. nikon almost always has the better feeling heavier body.. just saying..
looolz ...i love the end of your movie
sorry i did not clicked on any
the Blunty thing included to boot.... i'll give ya a Like
Nikon no dedicated radio flash system.still primitive optical commander.

I'll take my Sony a7 any day, saved a tonne of money, they are available for $1500 on eBay with the kit lens
You get what you pay for... When you buy a brand it's the system you buy nit a body. And i would take Nikon/Canon over Sony anyday.

J'ai un D800, et je le garde. Pas très convaincu par cette douce mise à jours. J’investirai plutôt dans un D4s.
