None of these spec differences for unnecessary features matter. Is the photo image quality the same?

I am a D800 owner and I find that one very important question is still not answered: Is D810 capable of shooting real Full Frame video (like 5D3 does) or it shoots the "FX-based movie format" like D800 - D800E which is not real FX video? (D800, D800E shoot video only in 1,3x crop mode named "FX-based movie format" and in 1,5x crop mode named "DX-based movie format"). I would appreciate an answer to my question.

I didn't know you made cameras revews :) Just saw your smartphones reviews before. This is a good review ! I think about buying the D810 in 2021 for landscape photography. Thanks for the video !

I cannot provide you with hard facts, but I have a gut feeling that both models are great portrait cameras and the pros won't tell you this. There is one problem, you cannot determine how many video was shot with them. You might get one with a very low shutter count, but it might have been used exclusively for video and that is punishment for sensors. The following el 15, 15a,15b batteries have been discontinued. Only the 15c is a replacement, but comes at a steep price. So a new D850 might be your safest option to invest in, if you have prime glass.

+supersaf tv what are your thoughts on dxomark rating of the d810 they gave it a higher score over the d800/800e but when you look into the measurements you'll find that the older models got better dynamic range and less Iso noise but what nudged the d810 is the lower and higher iso value.
    great video as always

I've got a D700 and was about to upgrade to D800, But now it seem's like timing is on my side for a change and its D810 time......great review thanks.

Actually, Canon has offered ISO 50 for a long time on their 1D series cameras, so it has been seen to go below ISO 100 on a DSLR... Also, my good friend got the D810 and she said that the "tracking" is better and more responsive even with the extender on a lens over the D800 and a noticeable enough small ISO improvement.

Question Saf, I wanted to get into full frame. Have the D7100. I am an advanced amateur photographer. Not into video that much. Should I get the D800 or would you suggest to go for the D810

Whats wrong with the D610? If your not really interested in video its much cheaper, and a little less megapixels. unless thats what your interested in

800e had a filter, just less active - do some more research... and maybe share how it fares in scenarios for which the filter was introduced... Speaking of vid you named shutter speed talking about auto iso.

how can £1800 = $3000 for the D800 and then £2700 = $3300 for the D810 surely assuming the exchange rate is the same you mean $4500???

People who are serious about video would go for the GH3 or GH4 instead of the D800 or D810.

I think the prices are wrong saf, you've got £2700 and then £1800. But only $300 dollars difference. Or maybe I'm mistaken?

    • @SuperSaf

UK and US retail prices differ greatly, it's not just a conversion rate. The prices are based on retailers in the countries (e.g. Amazon.co.uk and .com)

This is a great camera like you will no be upgrading since i have the software to make 30fps look like 60fps and the ability to shoot 720p at 60fps. This is something Nikon should have done on the first level entry. However, Rome was not built in a day. The fact that I see no difference in images with my low pass filter D800 is pretty unique. I can live with that. My concern is that the D4s is soft on video ant 1080p I don't see that being the case here but i haven't seen any in-depth Analyst of that yet. Thank you for your always on bias approach to letting us know the fact. keep u the good work. :)

We do not understand exactly for what purpose are you using or you be able to use it , videos or stills , video destroys optical matrix , if you want to record videos better buy Sony or other video recorder , for less then 1600 pound you can got 4K cam. How often are you changing mirror mechanism , how often you clean the sensor , the mechanism life is not endless ,low pass - if you are real photographer don't mention it, there is a modern lighting for outdoor which helps for crisps and sharps stills , iso won't be a huge problem. , battery life just buy a battery grip but real one , and last one those cameras wants to work with good lenses not with kit ones ... filters and ect....
