This is great. I should mention that the replacement seat rail bushings have plenty of retailers offering them--do an internet search. I bought my replacement set about 5 years ago but didn't have the guidance to put them in. Now I do. Next week I'll start the project. Thank you!

It's always an adventure when you pull a seat out of a car and getting it back in just right seems like you're well adapt to do that my friend cheers

Yea, putting it back was probably the hardest. It’s like the bolts don’t want to go back exactly like they came out. But I got it sorted.

Overall a great video. A couple of comments. My Z3 is 21 years old. It is best to start this job by saturating the nuts and bolts holding the seat to the floorboards with penetrating oil for a couple of days. Even so it may take the help of a breaker bar to take off the bolts. Lower the convertible top before starting. The slide rail that attaches to the floor is longer on one side than on the other side. Consequently I can't reach the T20 Torx on one side and remove it. Still struggling with that. After taking time to saturate nuts and bolts with penetrating oil and struggling to reach electrical connector the job is now into its third day and I'm pretty handy. Still trying to figure out how to get off the T20 bolt. BMW wants $2,000 to do this job. I can do it for $20 in parts. My time is free but a lot of other projects are falling behind. But it is interesting to figure out how to get this "simple" job completed. I wonder if I will need another three days

Thank you. Hope you are able to get it done. It is a bit of a struggle but you will be able to pull it off.

A little late but measuring the bushings from the end with a digital micrometer is super fast and easy. Or in a pinch a piece of uncooked spaghetti.

Whilst the video shows it, it's important to remove the rear 16 mm bolts first, power the seat back and undo the front 13 mm nuts - if you don't, you will not be able to remove the threaded rods.

Sounds like you had a bit of a tough time. It wasn’t to hard for me when I did it. It took a few tries but wasn’t to difficult.
