You have to take into account she's hammered and probably doesn't want to piss off the guy for fear of a bad re action. You're not obligated to do anything like the bodyguard of a hotel wasn't obligated to help an Asian women being beaten a few weeks ago. It really just comes down to your moral convictions and how capable you are in the situation. Can you fight? Can you think on your feet? Are you scared to be aggressive with other men? If you're not capable don't get involved. If you see nothing morally wrong then don't get involved. If you can fight if you feel this chick is in danger or scared to kick the guy out then get involved. That simple really.
EDIT: You also used mansplaining in the wrong context. I'm not sure if you were being bad faith and trying to obfuscate the definition to make "mansplaining" to seem like a bad word to your audience? Or if you generally just didn't understand the term used in context. What you did wouldn't be considered mansplaining to anyone reasonable Enjoy watching your videos good luck bud

I think feminism means something different in USA than Europe, as in Europe it only means fighting abuse and subjugation of women. Such as women didn't have as many rights and were less represented in their own country. It wasn't until recently women had the right to not be raped by her husband. In USA it seems to be an insult by men who hate women, who spend their time searching out examples of idiots who talk nonsense to say all women who fight against abuse are like that. Funny how they spend to much time online whinging against women, filling comment sections no matter what the subject as an excuse to whine on against feminists and saying what women should want, but no woman finds an abusive misogynist who feels threatened by women who have rights against them to be a turn on.
I also think men and women dislike each other more in the USA than Europe as USA women tell men they're disgusting if not cir'cised and some men who had that done develop issues, such as less sensitivity, which they try to take out on women.

@@olgapavlova585 In EU, feminism is 80% me, 20% tee. Quite close to the US version of feminist. Of course, this is only true for the current wave of feminists. As of 2021, in some settings, it's recommended to never be alone with a woman. I know that because I did technical testing and assessing a woman required a witness so both parties are protected. The woman, as she has someone who can intervene if it becomes weird. The man, as he has someone who is a witness and can recall the event. That even make women more expansive to hire...
Of course, this is the kind of things that is very secretive. Now you know why there are 2 "interviewers" sometimes and why one seems to be useless (saying nothing and scrapping notes).
I'll also let you guess what is common to people who complained that the tests weren't suited to them... (Same tests with same delivery as it was following a protocol)
And backed by management (male) who asked one of the items to be removed (it wasn't as the item was a problem we had on the job and fairly simple).
There is an expectation from some candidate that their gender give them a pass...🤦‍♀️
Also, in my first internship, I could see equality at play. I was doing my project and the girl next to ma asked a bunch of technical questions, so I helped her. I did it a few time, until I got stopped by one of the "tutor" telling me she has been doing that for 2 years straight and should know the inside-out and that a student shouldn't know more that her. At the end of the internship, the software I created got deployed and the protocol I wrote put in place. The girl asked if she can take over and she got served the truth: she was under-performing for two years and not at all a fit for the job. She was a net loss for the company. What did happen is that she was "protected" as the team was exclusively male and thus, not hitting quotas. (the team was mixed race though) So, they could not fire her if she showed every day and did a minimum...which she did. What saved them is that it's not a protection that last forever, so she lost her immunity. On top of that, they were able to show that a student did much more while doing research at the same time. Those programs may seem nice on paper, but that's what you end up with. It's even worse, as I got a black guy telling me he thought I got him hired because of quotas, while he was simply good. Never had a woman tell me such things, but I am sure it happens.
Now, the battle of feminists revolve around equal outcome since they had better opportunities for a while.
All of that is understandable when they are hammered they are better than men and men are mostly rapists.
I hope one day, gender would make no differences; That we will just look at what is important for the job. There should be no discrimination at all based on gender ethnicity, or religion etc.

So I had a similar situation, but it was a lot worse in some ways. I picked up a girl that was about 20, and a guy that was way past his 50s, 3am at a bar. She was so wasted she couldn’t speak. He was taking her to his hotel. I also thought maybe they know each other, but I started asking simple questions, like how are you doing, keeping the conversation going to earn trust, after which it was is this your daughter, and he said they just met, he’s taking her to his hotel where a few other “friends” are waiting specifically for her. I did drive them there, but there were a few people at the front door, and I loudly asked her if she wants to go home, to which she said yes. So I told him that she wants to go home, again, making sure the other people there hear it all. He backed off and I took her to her house. She would’ve been an easy target and definitely ran a train on in there. So yeah. It’s a crazy fine line in these situations.

That guy seems dangerous and that girl is defenceless.

Instead of acting on what your emotions tell you , act on the facts that are presented in the scene. The girl in the video does not show wether or not she knows the person and there's no way to tell if she was sober when she declined he comes. However The fact that the guy claims "I'm totally sleeping over" would suggest they maybe had a very close relationship to where sleeping together is normal. Perhaps they were dating. Maybe they were planning on moving in together. Maybe the girl is keeping the dudes child. The girl could also be a threat. You wouldn't know. Now, if he's trying to make her do something she doesn't want to do, then where does he draw the line? Him raping her is a very real possibility. I never used to think about sexism much until I started reading online comments, where I could be reading a completely unrelated article, and there would always be at least one man whinging on about his hatred of women or feminists. What do they mean when they talk about feminists in a nasty way? I thought they were the people who fought against abuse of women, such as women being able to vote, or not be slaves so they're paid the same as a man. Isn't that just normal? Why does normal need a label? If I ever replied to awful comments about women in what I thought was an equal way, such as how one world leader said women can't be leaders because they have periods, I said that testosterone causes men to be aggressive, and when men are in their peak testosterone of late teens and early 20s, they cause more dangerous accidents than others, I was called a feminist. That means many think it's normal for women to be insulted, but if a woman does the same to a man, then they're part of an unusual organisation

It almost feels like you're saying that being told you have male privilege is ridiculous. Male privilege isn't necessarily a negative thing, it's just a fact of life and needs to be taken into consideration when we talk about topics like feminism. Men don't have to worry as much about their safety when going out partying at night while women constantly have to take into consideration safety precautions on their fun nights out. Especially in big cities. I'm pretty sure you drive in Philly right? I love your content and your channel, just pointing out that your tone can be seen as condescending and a little uneducated. But you're right. This situation is messy as hell and with two clearly intoxicated passengers it's impossible to get a clear understanding of the context around their relationship. All you have to do in regards to your male privilege is acknowledge you have it and see how it relates to the situation -- which you did here. You acknowledged that women face much higher safety hazards in society and you started asking questions rather than just going along with whatever the guy was saying that was the opposite of what she was saying. I hope that if you're ever in a situation where the man is the one who is ordering the ride, you would still listen and ask if the woman is okay just like you did in this situation.

    3) if he has concerns over someone else's safety again refer to 1.
Lastly, people are human beings and while people are in HIS car he has a duty of care for his passengers and of course to keep himself safe.
If Eddie has to pull up concerns he's well in his right to.
I think you did the right thing here, does she feel safe, is she feeling uncomfortable.

as a girl i would say its not really your responsibility to protect her other than safely drive them to the destination, I would never let a stranger who i wasnt going to fuck into my uber, so if she let him get a ride with her that was her dumb idea and she can deal with it. if he chose to get out at her house and you are actually worried i would say just call the cops and leave it to them. imo the best way to look at it is try to see women as equals, not people who need protection (im not judging you for feeling that way tho, its hammered into men that women are fragile victims who need to be protected all the time) but i honestly would prefer if men would drop that idea and just treat us as u want to be treated. so if the only reason you have concern for her in the situation is because she is a woman, and you would have no concern for a man, chances are there is no need for concern. But honestly a lot of other women will diagre with me, so you are going to offend someone no matter what, so just dio what you think is right.

It is not and never was up to the guy who got in the Uber. I would have directed all my attention to her and asked if he could stay in the car and offered to take him home first. If he had a problem then I’d ask him to exit the car. Thank you, that's what really bothered me about this video. If she said no, take me home and then him, then you have all the information you need. It's her ride, her place of residence, her call. She was making what she wanted very clear. This shouldn't even have to be an issue of feminism. I don't get what was so confusing about this situation, it doesn't matter at all what their relationship is to each other, just what her directives are. You tell him she made her decision, and ask him how he wishes tp proceed from there, and if he gives you a problem call law enforcement. Edit: I just watched the video a second time. It appears she wanted to go home by herself, but for the Uber driver to also take the other guy to his house (which he was objecting to). I get that could be confusing, but you just make it clear that you have to drop her off by herself because that is her wish, and tell him he either needs to get another Uber, or comply with going to his house.
