I do believe that those of us who pursue a filipina, and then actually make the trip to PI, are very unique and similar. The majority of men talk about doing something, but never do it. Men who truly do go to PI, are definitely cut from a different mold. Look at life as a great adventure, and are not afraid to live life on our own terms .

Well, I first came here over 21 years ago, and never once considered it to be something to fear. So, I don't think less of those that don't get around to come here. Some of them might not have the financial freedom to do it. I know a few people who would do well here, but they just don't have the funds. People are practically living in their cars now in the States, so traveling is definitely out of the question. Someday, I'll be able to fly them out. In the meantime, I'll try to enjoy living with my fiance. But I miss my Western friends. The locals here just don't have the same humor as me. We don't really have much in common aside from being biped mammals.

I have been in Cebu for two weeks now . the lady I came here to see is married and separated from her husband . She told me she was never married when I met her online . However being upfront honest and kind to people has landed me a better Filipina who is younger without children and works two jobs. She does not money me to death like the person I came here to see. Being kind respectful and having some knowledge of culture has serviced me well. Americans here are often seen as arrogant. My new GF is very happy that I never complain and am eager to learn more about her culture. We Americans need to be more patient and understanding while we are here . Had I not behaved and been honest about what I wanted this would have been a wasted trip.

The problem with the labels is that every man can play a different role in different circumstances. One sociologist said that every group of four men will have an alpha, beta, nerd, and clown. But you can take four alphas or four clowns and put them in a group and the same roles will emerge, so the labels are not tied to the person. Some meek men have been surprised to find themselves as the leader in an emergency because they were the only men who knew what to do.

I’m just learning about the Philippines now, after talking with some young people I know whose families are from the Philippines. I worry a bit that if I travelled there I’d remain in the shadows and not make any connections. I’m not the kind of person to initiate a conversation with someone I haven’t met. Amen, a person can adopt strategies to be a better person, but there are some sigma traits that world hates. There would be no reason to become a true sigma so that more people would not like you. I am super kind to people but many do not like who I am. Because I am confident when they are not, they think I am arrogant. I don't think I am above anyone. I was born a sigma, and since I have become a christian, I am asking God to make me softer. I had a challenging childhood that made me super strong. And God is faithful this year to soften the edges. So, in a way, I am becoming less sigma but God made me one in the womb. I will always be one. Jesus even said, because they hated Him, they will
hate you. I think He was sigma too. He called the elite, broods of vipers and whitewashed tombs full of dead men's bones. I think only a sigma would do such things especially in those days.

But I didn’t really know that that label existed for women. You are absolutely right about the advantages and disadvantages of sigma males in the Philippines. I will be back in the Philippines in July. And it’s funny because I intentionally avoid all cities saturated with western alphas. Instead, I will be spending my time once again in Calbayog. I rolled my eyes a bit, because I felt like I was having my ego stroked by all the positive aspects listed about "sigma males", but I did find a valuable nugget of truth in the comment about having to learn to put up with injustice. Seeing people abuse animals or others because of their station in life or their own believed superiority enrages me. I will need to learn to keep that in control for my eventual future in the Philippines. Unfortunately, I have already had to completely cut out a Filipina out of my life, and I have seen how necessary that is when talking to other men who have already retired there. Thanks for the great video as always, Pea.

    • @oodo2908
      @oodo2908 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

For the most part animals aren't seen as humans in Asia. Though there are upper class people who are animal lovers. In the Philippines they even walk them through the strip mall in BGC. If you go for middle class to wealthy women you'll be ok. Most of the horror stories you hear about dating Filipina women are about low class Filipinas with no education. For some reason they are the preferred choice with foreign men. If you stay in an affluent area like BGC you'll be ok. Of course there are plenty more places to explore, but you will need to make friends to guide you. The social class system in the Philippines left over from Spain is still as powerful as ever.

I had not heard of "Sigma Male", but have some knowledge of personality types--INTJ/Melancholy/C/Strategic Planner/Marine Officer/Engineer--so I recognized some of the traits that you mentioned. Several people have said that they would not have the courage to do what I am doing in moving to the Philippines, but I did not associate it with the Sigma Male. There were times i actually felt bad. I would be praised for things that i didnt earn, they are just a benefit of having been born in the US.
But, i quickly stopped feeling bad when so many of the things she loved about me are things even the poorest filipino guy could have done for her.
She is a gorgeous, hard working woman, talented, intelligent, loyal, no kids, she is literally a dream come true. To think she had trouble finding a local man who would treat her like she deserves is INSANE.
We have so much in common and so much to love about each other, I am sure that we were meant to be together, but plenty of Filipino guys could have made it a lot harder for me to find her, so I have no sympathy when i hear a Filipino guy complain about foreigners taking their women.

I couldn’t wait to get the hell out of the US. My “friend” who had been inviting me to the Philippines for 6 years (and his family) ended up being sort of pieces of shit when I finally arrived. They didn’t help me learn how to do basic shit like learn the tricycle or know how much things were supposed to cost and then they decided they had some kind of issue with me and started treating me differently but wouldn’t tell me why. Their behavior and my friends lack of taking responsibility to stand up to his family and tell them they were being extremely rude destroyed my relationship with my friend after 6 years of planning to come. We had been in a business relationship for a long time and were interested in similar things and it was a shame that my first taste of Filipino culture was basically trauma related to people being unwilling to directly confront each other to problem solve. I decided that I didn’t need their literal negative Pinoy stereotype caricature asses and started traveling the PH alone and without any direction. It’s been a year and four months in the PH now and I feel a bit settled in here. I still see the same cultural bullshit that destroyed my business plan upon coming here and along with it, my relatinship with my long time friend. I see it every day. I hate a lot of shit about this culture honestly but I didn’t feel any differently in the US, or Mexico, or Canada, or Israel, or Puerto Rico, or Thailand.. and ultimately I still somehow like the Ph the best. I am just a misanthropic fuck who doesn’t really like any human society. We are really shit in every iteration.

Hi Pea, I loved your video about the Sigma male. About four years ago I was on TH-cam and heard about the Sigma male. After hearing about the traits of a Sigma I thought I was one and after taking the test it confirmed that I guess I was one. I found your channel on TH-cam as I spend most of my TV time on the TH-cam channel, always investigating and trying to learn new things. A few months ago, I watched your video when you asked Filipinas if they would ever date an Atheist and was pleasantly surprised, as I have been an Atheist, since I was 22 years old and at that time, I thought you were at least Agnostic, though I don't think you should respond to that synopsis, as I understand the faith issue very well. I could go on, though wanted to mention that I am now 85 and decided to go to the Philippines and start a new life, as I keep telling myself the best part of my life is in the future. Why go to a place that is perhaps 90% Catholic, you may ask? The reason is that Catholicism like Judaism are a way of life, both non-confrontive, not like the evangelical movement in the world. I've started a few companies, written a book and have an invention to my name. One of the questions in the quiz way did I enjoy high school or hated it, which was my answer, barely made it out of high school. I don't know how you do it, utterly amazing.

Resident Sigma male, here. You pretty much nailed it all in this video.
I live by a code of ethics. Would rather other people have the spotlight, and I happen to be a shark at the poker table 🤣
There is also a strong polarity between our sense of masculinity versus the truly feminine women of the Philippines. It can almost be overwhelming.
However, I like taking risks, so the Philippines is probably where I will end up long-term (even if only half of the year is spent between there and the U.S. I'm OK with either scenario 😂)

Hey Pea. I never heard of Sigma before but after listening to you I thought that's what i was, for better or for worse. First i took the Myers-Briggs and resulted in enfj, I think (?)) then the other one and it said im Sigma.
I just wanted to throw some love your way by telling you what you already know, lol, your very intelligent and what i love the most about is your desire to spread truth and understanding and to do so in such creative ways with truly balanced insight. A rare girl indeed!

Another BANGER Pea!!! I caught myself smiling a few times watching this. Not just because of its 100% complete accuracy but also because your breakdown & delivery were “surgical”. Only a Sigma understands enough to do that. Thank you for explaining how this translates in The Philippines. I’d fit right in.

Interesting, Pea. I've taken the Meyers-Briggs test, but so far back that I don't remember how I was categorized; and so removed from the designations you mentioned that I don't recall having heard about Sigmas. You got my gray matter swirling a bit, and it dawned on me that there's a group here in the Philippines that I haven't observed getting much attention online. It's an established family (specifically with school-age or younger children). I suspect though that many of those men have Sigma traits.
My experience here has shown me noticeable differences between these family-oriented males and the single expat, and the single expat with a Filipina partner without younger children. Priorities, attitudes, and use of time and resources can vary significantly.
It might be of interest to your viewers to gain an understanding of how their lives may be altered if and when they move here if they become more 'settled into family life.

You are right madam - also the sigmas reluctance to get socially involved can prevent a lot of bad situations in PH. I am getting rather old to face the winters here at 7000 feet and may get a place in PH for 4 or 5 months a year. I love the Filipinos, they are genuine and open - lots of children running around , reminds me of 50's America.
You are exceptionally turned out for this video, stunning really - dining with royalty ?

Sounds like me. Always ploughed my own furrow and never taken too much notice of the crowd. Bit of a loner, but not a shy man and like to think outside the box which lead me to the Philippines in 1999 when I found my first wife. Now happily married to my second Filipina wife since 2011 and hope to retire to Philippines in a few years.

Great video Pea! Your description of the Sigma Male pretty much describes me to a "T". It will be interesting how this pans out when I get to the Philippines in 2025.

Another great show. Thank you. I have been studying human behavior for many years now . As a 61 year-old. I find that good things come with wisdom and patience. Out here in the Vegas rat race I observe everyone running around like crazy. I won’t let them pull me in to it. Smitty.

Wow! I’ve never thought of myself as a Sigma male but after watching you vlog I now realise that what you talked about and the character traits that you described, you perfectly described me!
I now know that I have been a Sigma male for most of my 67 years of life!
All of what you talked about rang a bell with me and after picking up my open jaw after it hit the floor, I realized it 😂.
Great video Pea and well explained 👍😊

I'm INTJ and a sigma according to those tests. I've known for a long time that I'm INTJ, bit was today years old when I learned what a sigma was. I will say I never really felt quite like an alpha nor beta so that explains it. Thanks for another great video, Pea!
P.S. Less than a month now until I'm in Dumaguete myself. I can't wait.

    My Precious Miss Pea :)
As always, you are spot on with this one as well !
Iv`e studied these traits for several years, and thus, after pesonal examination, I am a textbook sigma male.
After living here in Cebu City for almost 2 years now, I have assimilated into this paradise with grace and gratitude, and blessed that I have found a new home here :)
