how well could I live with my $5,000 a month retirement in the Philippines? I'm 66, a widower, have no bills, no kids, I have $50,000 in gold and silver for savings, plus I can sell my house which I own outright and is worth $500,000.
I thought he looked familiar! I've bumped into Travis, although only briefly. I have friends who have worked at the same place he did, many of whom are Filipinas. Plus, both of my parents have been there multiple times for treatment while he worked there. Glad to see he's on his feet and doing well.
I have seen many of her podcasts and I find that she is always charming, open minded, wanting to hear everyone’s points of views without showing any prejudice on her part!
If I was a lonely man, I would like to become a personal friend of Miss Pea if nothing more because she is so caring and non biased , and personally ( I think attractive), I know she is well educated as well
This lady is an excellent imterviewer. Very smart, and her intelligence never fails to shine through whenever she speaks. World class lady, love from Jamaica.
Pea, your interview with Travis is interesting, enlightening, and entertaining, and should be required viewing for any single man from the USA, Canada, the UK, and Australia who is thinking about moving to the Philippines. You are the best source of information about all aspects of life in the Philippines that I've encountered on TH-cam. 👍❤

Hi Pea…. I’ve watched a ton of your content. I must say you’re most informative. I’ve seen all your fellow bloggers and no one comes close to your control of the English language. You’re simply an amazing woman and most informative on the warm and loving culture of the Philippines.
Hi Pea. Great ‘Bond Girl’ outro. Great interview as well. I think guys with an unfortunate previous relationship are too often just out to ‘one-up’ the Ex. Travis’s approach to escaping the west and wanting to explore what the world is like, is very admirable. I can relate to this 100 percent. Don’t let Cupid’s arrows determine your trajectory. Sorry for your loss Travis, it’s never easy. It’s good to see you are out-and-about without a bitter previous relationship.
Well it's entertaining to watch from us young guys lol. We don't try to judge but judge anyway especially when they try their luck with girls our age lmfao.

Nice interview! It is always reaffirming to hear of someone's dating experiences back in the states and Travis captured it well in a nutshell (one still filled with nuts). And they get so angry when we leave! The only thing I would urge him to consider is to be brave, and explore other countries in the region as well. Make the Phillippines a home base, but look around.
This was an excellent interview. Travis obviously did his homework and it's easy to see that his personality is well suited to accomplishing that move successfully. I think he has been one of your best interviewees and it will be quite interesting to see the follow up interview in a year. Wishing him much success in his newest adventure. After that new outro, Pea, you've got a bunch of us guys wanting to do some undercover work with you. But then again, that was probably true even before that outro.😂
I'm an American from WV and ex Army and retired coal miner . I've been with my Philippina going on 9 years and it's been a good relationship but not perfect as nothing is perfect but my best relationship in my 62 years on this planet . He will do fine here with his positive attitude .
Love the Filipina Pea and have really loved her recent outfits. She is the whole package. Extremely intelligent, well spoken, well educated, good-looking, and well-dressed.
All I can say is "wow", Pea. Travis, your guest, is a consummate gentleman who makes me proud to be his fellow countryman. And like him I will be following in his footsteps to Dumaguete in December. Hope to see you both there, perhaps strolling on the beach. Until then best regards!
This was one of your best interviews. Travis seemed to be a very good man who had the right attitude and life plan to successfully begin anew. I don’t normally say this about other men, but, a woman would be lucky to have such a man in her life. He typifies a good American, basically humble, optimistic enough to dream and pragmatic enough to achieve the dream, having the inner serenity to enjoy the great simple pleasures of life, and romantic enough to prioritize love in his life. He epitomizes the silent majority in America, and not one of the obnoxious and toxic few the media seems to relish giving the world stage to. I also enjoy the witty puns in your skits. Always a pleasure, Pea.
Great interview with Travis. He seems like a straight up dude that’s just living life. Also, since others mentioned it, the shoe dangle is killing me. I find it cute.
@everymanrepeatsastory5188 Maybe you should direct your comments to Pea then. It would make more sense than responding to one of my comments. Also, are you claiming that it’s because of you her channel got big? I don’t think Pea is under any obligation to give you any help. I think it has more to do do with her work ethic and content that got her where she is. I don’t think a guy who gets to be a multimillionaire after being a homeless bum is obligated to do anything for anyone that might have given him $5 once upon a time. Why did you even interview her if you were just going to hold any success she got over her head and expect repayment? That seems kind of chicken $hit way to operate. Do you always expect people you interview to do things for you? Also, you have 8 subscribers on your channel. You couldn’t have made much of an impact on her career with numbers that low.
@@misc.spliffster1925 yeah 50 isn't old at all. Dwayne Johnson looks amazing at 50. But many guys who come to Philippines look broken down and very unattractive.

It was a very interesting interview! I also couldn't help but notice the sweating from Travis. The temperature and humidity are definitely my two biggest concerns about Philippino life
I was in South Carolina recently in Columbia for business and I absolutely loved it. Its so beautiful in that state that I could live there to be honest but like he said things are getting more expensive by the day. Great interview Pea, one of your best and I cant wait to visit the Philippines some day.
Columbia, Charleston and Myrtle Beach are areas to avoid unless you're just doing the touristy thing. Georgetown is adequate if you want intermediate cost and proximity to the beach. Greenville / Anderson is good if you prefer the Upstate and proximity to the mountains. All areas of the midlands are becoming expensive, including where I live. What used to be rural is now an established suburban area, and prices have skyrocketed.

Very good interview Pea! And well done by Travis also explaining his approach and experiences there. It's nice to hear an honest and accurate assessment about Travis' journey. And he is spot on when describing the situation in the states with divorce being so prevalent here. There seems to be a zero tolerance here when it comes to relationships with divorced persons looking for a new partner. One difference in thought or belief, and you're out!
I grew up in South Carolina myself. I guess it shouldn't be a surprise that we have a few things in common. I hope to be doing exactly what he is doing, once my son finishes his degree. Good luck and maybe we'll meet when I make it over. I promise, I'll say hi! Pea, love the new ending!
When I heard SC and he said he said hello to someone else. I thought, well in SC you do that in the states. If the other guy from was NYC or LA, saying hello is a fight waiting to happen. I am still adjusting to the area I am with people randomly saying hi to me.
Hello Pea. Enjoyed the interview today with Travis. I hated to hear that his wife had passed away, but he seems to be at a point in his life where he had a chance to do something different and see how things go. I actually saw a video last night where you were being interviewed. It was Vagabond channel. Pea, Filipina Pea has a pretty good aim. Maybe one could say “A View to a Kill “.
I agree with Travis on most of what he said. My last 3 videos covered most of these subjects. But I’m bucking “conventional wisdom” on his last point, and we’ll see how my relationship works out, when I get there December 30th 🤞 Great interview, Pea 👍
@@TheFilipinaPea thank you. Maybe we’ll get the chance to say HI in mid-January? Or May? We’re planning a trip to Dumaguete after our honeymoon in Boracay
Pea: Interesting interview with Travis. I like what he says about "come to the Philippines single" This is probably the most sage advise anyone could give. Going to another country just because you met someone that you've grown an attachment to their online personality can be a very costly mistake if things go sideways. It is my opinion that the best way to find out about a place to settle down is, fall in love with the place and it's people, before you fall in love with one of those people. I love the new outro! Double 0 Pea, what a great addition to the collection of outros. For a minute I thought you were going to say something to the effect of "M has some other missions for you to embark upon" when you put your thumbnails up for people on the end screen. Keep up the great work and always have fun.
@@TheFilipinaPea Oh come on! 🤣🤣 its just that the ones that dont listen are the ones you hear back from the most. usually from crying about wasted time and money and, like you said, blaming the entire country

Moving to the Philippines 🇵🇭 main reason is not only for beautiful Philippina or because is easier to find a mate... but also living in the Philippines is much more affordable than the west.. I would think is the number 1 reason for foreigners to choose the Philippines 🇵🇭
Wow, What a great person to interview Pea! You really were smart to source such an intelligent, articulate, and worldly individual as an interview subject. It was a pleasure to be part of the audience and listen to someone who can readily function on your level, and it must have been fun for you as well. 🐸
LITTLE KNOWN FACT: When James Bond retired he declined a knighthood from the Queen & left for the Middle East. There he became a powerful member of the Saudi aristocracy. He preferred being Sheikhed not Sirred. Good interview. Thanx Pea !!
Another fantastic interview Miss Pea. By the way, beautiful dress. I came to the Philippines to get away from all the negativity in my life here in the USA. I was there over a year, and met my wife there. Like Travis, you shouldn't go there to find a woman... Looking will often find you as much bad as good. Going there and just meeting people, you have a much better chance of finding a nice lady like Pea.
AGREED, Murph 👍 I wish more guys would follow that advice, but they jump right on the dating websites, end up getting ripped off, and then giving up on the Philippines without even trying it for real 😳
Love your closing skit! Thank you for the verification and reminder to just take it easy. My first goal/desire is to come there, and swim! I miss it dearly! (I live in the desert)
Pea...I've watched pretty much every video you've made and I've never seen you fawning over someone like you were him. Your body language, tone and inflections were only screaming one thing! 😊 Don't get me wrong...I don't blame you...he's handsome and gregarious...maybe someone who can intertwine with the hermit in you. Just making an observation!
Pea, I already know how your interviews are going to pan out. It's always interesting and informative. But what I found funny in this interview was your instinctive reaction to kick off those heels. And keep them off! lol
Hello..I love your podcast and I am on my way back to the Philippines. It has been a long time. Hope we can get in touch before I get on the plane or when I get there. Thanks 😂
I do not have a foot fetish...but your left foot wrestling with your shoe stole the show. 🤣 Good for him being able to escape the American routine. And based on your videos, it should not be too surprising that the Dumaguete area appeals to a lot of us...seems a nice combination of city and country lifestyle. Manila and Cebu just seem to be too much.
I was thinking too that the foot fetish guys are going to love this one. Also i was impressed with your trigger discipline in the ending . Until a point . lol. @@TheFilipinaPea
LMAO… I did not hear a word he said. The dancing shoe is the star of this video 😂😂. I am not a foot guy but waiting for that shoe to fall off was hilarious 😂
The only thing broken down about us men that come here is we are tired of being broken in half by the women back home and want to meet women that know how to act like women. Never felt more complete in my life until I met my Filipina wife.
That was an interesting interview again Pea ! You asked great questions, and he was eloquent and reflective in his responses - you should catch up with him again (before a year) !! You have a great style in your approach !!! ❤💯❤
Pea, was it that hot, or were you just drooling all over him? Your foot was also twitching non-stop like you were at a disco, your crush on him was obvious, hahaha. Calm down Pea! I was afraid that you would jump him.
This man is very level headed and seems a good guy. Great attitude meeting someone organically is a great approach. That's what happened for me here in Puerto Galera. 5 months in and loving it. Not perfect but being 200 yards from the beach and low rent to boot. Life's good.
Philipina Pea , I saw that you visited the state of Georgia. Now I saw this video with the gentleman from S.C., that's where I live, excellent!!!! You showed a lot of good content. Thanks, Philipina Pea!!! ❤❤❤
Hi Pea, this guy is doing it the right way without the relationship headache to confuse first impressions. I got caught up for all the wrong reason and wont date again till there a while, but on the other hand am wiser to spot the red flags so not all bad for the experience. Cool new ending sketch Pea lol, much prefer you as a bond girl though 😁Hmmm with your love for cats you would have to play Goldfingers Miss Pussy Galore 🤣🤣
I really enjoyed this interview. Travis seems to be just like me. We are both young minded in old shells. I too used to joke around, but according to my son, I embarrass him when I try to enjoy myself and have fun. So now I just sit, watch tv, and watch videos. But I've finally decided to move to the philippines, due to the cost of living, the friendly culture, the different world other than the USA, and being able to live on my own again.
Nice interview. Travis has a great sense of humor.😂 I'm convinced that he will thrive anywhere. Wish him all the best. Gotta check out those movies. Pea is stroking her hair, uncontrolled laughing, complimenting Travis, measuring his wealth...?🥰 smitten?😂

There seems to be a zero tolerance here when it comes to relationships with divorced persons looking for a new partner. One difference in thought or belief, and you're out!
Thanks!
Thanks for that tip, RJ ❤️❤️❤️👍
Great content pea👍
Hi Pea! I love the fact that this guy is just winging it. Great interview. 👍
Totally free - what a way to be 👍☺️
Thanks! again Pea for a great interview.
Thank you so much for that tip, David! ❤️❤️❤️
You better say hi! ❤️❤️❤️👍
Fellow South Carolinian here and I totally agree.
When I heard SC and he said he said hello to someone else. I thought, well in SC you do that in the states. If the other guy from was NYC or LA, saying hello is a fight waiting to happen. I am still adjusting to the area I am with people randomly saying hi to me.
Great interview! I like how Travis doesn’t stereotype or put blame on women from the west. He just states facts of life there. Excellent attitude!
I think when he described his perfect mate he described you Pea 😊 another great video!!
Well I do think I’m a fairly good person, so thanks 👍👍❤️
Great insightful interview
My aim was accurate because I used my ring finger - I call it my gold finger 😂
Pea, you are so smart and witty. Where have you been all my life?
He is very articulate, and interesting, maybe the guy to be a good brother. Pea, you are always the best, very good at what you do. 🙌
Thanks Lars! 👍❤️
Dude! I know Travis, so good to see you here. The Pea is great! Glad you got to meet and interview with her.
Hey Mark!!! Things are great so far here man. The Pea was a great interviewer!
Hi Pea
...and always let the ads play
John! Thanks for making it ❤️👍
You’re as reliable as I am, and that’s saying something! ☺️
This was the best one that I have seen yet and I have been binge watching
I agree with Travis on most of what he said. My last 3 videos covered most of these subjects.
But I’m bucking “conventional wisdom” on his last point, and we’ll see how my relationship works out, when I get there December 30th 🤞
Great interview, Pea 👍
I certainly wish you both the best ❤️👍👍
@@TheFilipinaPea thank you. Maybe we’ll get the chance to say HI in mid-January? Or May? We’re planning a trip to Dumaguete after our honeymoon in Boracay
Pea:
Interesting interview with Travis.
Yes, I give that single advice over and over, but no one listens 🤣🤣🤣
@@TheFilipinaPea I do, but I just don't have the money to travel abroad
@@TheFilipinaPea Oh come on! 🤣🤣 its just that the ones that dont listen are the ones you hear back from the most. usually from crying about wasted time and money and, like you said, blaming the entire country
That's why I'll get there while waiting for everything to be set up. I'll go looking around and see what i see.Staying out of the city , I'll go enjoy the providences and see friends .If i find someone, I'll be happy. If not, I'll wait until i do
Advice.
Spot on video Ms Peah. Hey I like the dress by the way. Blue is you. Thanks for sharing. 🙏
Thanks! It’s my new favorite ❤️🤣
“There are no small roles, only small actors.” Nice interview Pea.
Thanks Stan 👍👍
This young man will find Greater Dumaguete to be a wonderful . Glad to see you're back Filipina Pea, we're back too! Since, my Filipina wife, of nearly 38 yrs, also an very active actress in Hollywood, where we met at the time. She, a grad of Silliman U. She a biz grad, a production mgr, running our our manufacturing biz at Yuma & San Luis, Sonora Mexico. She is head of Olympic-style boxing in Negros Oriental of Referee /judges, and VP of ABANO since the 2010s. She suffered a major stroke in USA ,in Nov 2021, a real tough cookie she is, one of the top judges in USA of Olympic boxing. We just arrived back in Dauin/Zambo & have scheduled on her B-day a competition at the Reclaimed area along Rizal Blvd in Dumaguete Nov 30, 2023. I am the first foreigner to be a member and clinician of ABAP, the National Federation of Olympic Boxing.
You found quite a catch!! ❤️❤️
Moving to the Philippines 🇵🇭 main reason is not only for beautiful Philippina or because is easier to find a mate... but also living in the Philippines is much more affordable than the west.. I would think is the number 1 reason for foreigners to choose the Philippines 🇵🇭
A great interview Pea and Travis I hope you do well there. You did your homework and apparently, you are fitting in quite well:) Yay! A new outro!
he has so much to learn, i hope he can go to more islands.
Wow, What a great person to interview Pea! You really were smart to source such an intelligent, articulate, and worldly individual as an interview subject. It was a pleasure to be part of the audience and listen to someone who can readily function on your level, and it must have been fun for you as well. 🐸
Great video Pea. There were a lot issues brought up that are often discussed. 😀
LITTLE KNOWN FACT: When James Bond retired he declined a knighthood from the Queen & left for the Middle East. There he became a powerful member of the Saudi aristocracy. He preferred being Sheikhed not Sirred. Good interview. Thanx Pea !!
Hahahahaha
The punchline was worth the setup 😂
Another fantastic interview Miss Pea. By the way, beautiful dress.
I came to the Philippines to get away from all the negativity in my life here in the USA. I was there over a year, and met my wife there. Like Travis, you shouldn't go there to find a woman... Looking will often find you as much bad as good. Going there and just meeting people, you have a much better chance of finding a nice lady like Pea.
AGREED, Murph 👍
I wish more guys would follow that advice, but they jump right on the dating websites, end up getting ripped off, and then giving up on the Philippines without even trying it for real 😳
Hiya, Pea! Pleasant and informative convo with Travis. A follow-up will be interesting.
Loved the "Bond" outro. You're still keeping it fresh!
Glad you liked the new outro, Kut! 👍👍👍❤️
@@TheFilipinaPea: Yes, and you look fine in that dress!
That shoe dangle!❤❤❤
Sorry, Craig - can’t help it! 😂
@@TheFilipinaPea no complaints here! Love the content keep it up!😉
Love your closing skit!
Thank you for the verification and reminder to just take it easy.
My first goal/desire is to come there, and swim!
I miss it dearly!
(I live in the desert)
Pea is a good actor, operation snag a foreigner is her best
Maybe I’ll do another one about this interview 😂
Your shoe swinging was hard not to notice...obviously very comfortable with your interview......LOVE the Bond sign off !!
I just can’t help it - I fidget, it’s hot, and I hate shoes 🤣
Pea...I've watched pretty much every video you've made and I've never seen you fawning over someone like you were him. Your body language, tone and inflections were only screaming one thing! 😊 Don't get me wrong...I don't blame you...he's handsome and gregarious...maybe someone who can intertwine with the hermit in you. Just making an observation!
True Pea really had the hots for him, lol.
Pea, I already know how your interviews are going to pan out. It's always interesting and informative. But what I found funny in this interview was your instinctive reaction to kick off those heels. And keep them off! lol
I think Pea knows what she's doing to "some" of us with those heels 🤐🤭😅
Well you can have them - I hate them! ☺️
@@TheFilipinaPea 😄, but they look really good on you 😇
Is that a signal pointing your foot and shaking it
Great video Pea. Travis has a good attitude for starting his new life in the Philippines.
You look amazing love the dress 👗
As always you have great interviews Ms Pea
Thanks Nate!!! ❤️❤️👍
Hi Pea , U already a good actor ❤️ Great content As usual ❤️✅ AUSTRALIAN-GUY
Thanks for that, Mr DownUnder 👍❤️
@@TheFilipinaPea Like to be " Down Under " But also Love Philippines ❤️
This was a really good Video Pea. The guy seems down to earth.
Agreed, Dane 👍☺️
I like how Pea's shoe ends up on the floor, then magically back hanging from her toes. 🤣🤣🤣
The magic of editing! 🤣🤣
Nice interview Travis! Glad things are going well for you so far…. Hope the adventure is all you’re hoping for.
You can tell he’s new, the way he’s sweating his balls off in that chair with cover
He's sweating because of the vibes Pea is giving off.haha
@@Steven-t9s that’s certainly on the table
Hello..I love your podcast and I am on my way back to the Philippines. It has been a long time. Hope we can get in touch before I get on the plane or when I get there. Thanks 😂
I do not have a foot fetish...but your left foot wrestling with your shoe stole the show. 🤣 Good for him being able to escape the American routine. And based on your videos, it should not be too surprising that the Dumaguete area appeals to a lot of us...seems a nice combination of city and country lifestyle. Manila and Cebu just seem to be too much.
For me, Manila is definitely too much 👍☺️
I was thinking too that the foot fetish guys are going to love this one.
I didn’t notice, but now I do lol
@Sandy-Beach0 Pea has the ability to make guys rethink things. 🤣
25:25 Looking forward to your next meeting with Travis
The only thing broken down about us men that come here is we are tired of being broken in half by the women back home and want to meet women that know how to act like women. Never felt more complete in my life until I met my Filipina wife.
Bingo.
I like how you pronounce Dumaguete 5:12
I'm happy for you brother😊
Nice interview! I hope the best for Travis. He seems to have a clear idea based on good research.
And I could watch Pea dangle her shoe all day long!
Yeah Travis. I see you…You know just how to play it. You’re just an old country boy seeing the world. Wink wink.
Agreed. I see player written all over that guy. Say the right things, to impress the ladies, and then ....
That was an interesting interview again Pea ! You asked great questions, and he was eloquent and reflective in his responses - you should catch up with him again (before a year) !! You have a great style in your approach !!! ❤💯❤
Thanks, 2JustBeMe 👍👍
Pea, was it that hot, or were you just drooling all over him? Your foot was also twitching non-stop like you were at a disco, your crush on him was obvious, hahaha. Calm down Pea! I was afraid that you would jump him.
So was he, obviously.haha
@@Steven-t9s She needs to rate this interview X rated, hahaha.
This man is very level headed and seems a good guy. Great attitude meeting someone organically is a great approach. That's what happened for me here in Puerto Galera. 5 months in and loving it. Not perfect but being 200 yards from the beach and low rent to boot. Life's good.
boil water in the electric kettle to shave Travis.
👍👍😂
Or get an electric/battery powered shaver.
Philipina Pea , I saw that you visited the state of Georgia. Now I saw this video with the gentleman from S.C., that's where I live, excellent!!!!
You showed a lot of good content.
Thanks, Philipina Pea!!! ❤❤❤
Miss Pea is that a flirt sign with your shoe? 😂
24:37 is flirting with all of us
It’s me subconsciously hating shoes 🤣
@@TheFilipinaPea well you have super cute , beautiful goddess feet. . 😍
Double O Pea! Great video. Travis seems like a good guy and I look forward to seeing how he's doing on a future update.
Thanks Eric! I’ll check in on him again 👍😊
Or maybe OctoPussy 🤣🤣🤣
I really enjoyed this interview. Travis seems to be just like me. We are both young minded in old shells. I too used to joke around, but according to my son, I embarrass him when I try to enjoy myself and have fun. So now I just sit, watch tv, and watch videos. But I've finally decided to move to the philippines, due to the cost of living, the friendly culture, the different world other than the USA, and being able to live on my own again.
More power to you in finding happiness 👍👍
The Pea maybe a little smitten, all dressed up and dangling her shoe off da foot. lol
I dressed before I ever met him 😊
@@TheFilipinaPea You look lovely. ❤️
@@TheFilipinaPea No excuses. You were flirting with him non-stop, hahaha.
Pea, what an AWESOME outro! My former favorite was Star Trek. But my new favorite is Bond…James Bond!
Excellent! Thanks Dave! ❤️❤️
Nice legs Pea. you are the best, awesome content.
25:40 definitely do a follow up interview. So far the best and most informative interview yet

Great interview Pea! He portrays the real American. Bring him back again. Do something together.
Nice interview. Travis has a great sense of humor.😂
I'm convinced that he will thrive anywhere. Wish him all the best. Gotta check out those movies.
Pea is stroking her hair, uncontrolled laughing, complimenting Travis, measuring his wealth...?🥰 smitten?😂
Not hardly 🤣

Great interview Ms. Pea. Also loved your outro.
