Hey Mate, regarding the traction control , I did some extensive research myself and found out that the Q4 AWD veloce with performance package LSD is way more permissive than the RWD one in the traction control department. Not saying that you can turn it off on that , because you can't .. but it just "allows" you to play more
Hi, Great review, very enjoyable especially from my point of view because it's the exact model I want, even down to the colour, inside and out. But can anybody help me out with the EXACT model this is? I'll be buying used, as I can't afford new, but of the ones I've seen for sale most of the Veloce models don't seem to have the carbon fibre highlights, such as the side skirts and mirrors. The ones that do seem to be considerably more expensive (my budget will be around £20k when I'm ready to buy). Not a deal breaker but it would be nice to have them, but I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for. Cheers.
It's 5.4 for 0-60 in the Q2 5.1 for the Q4. Many have reported around 4.7 with Q4 with higher octane fuel, the engineers have explained the harder you drive it the more it learns, the ECU will tune more aggressively the harder you drive it, so yes it will get faster with more miles as long as you drive it hard.
Good news mate. I was just on Autotrader and there was an amazing example of a Veloce for 20k. Low milage too. I'll keep pootling along in my Giulietta Sportiva for now 😂
No, matey. We just spend our money on more important things in life....like a house. I could too roll into an Alfa Romeo show room and technically be able to afford a brand new quadrifoglio, but I decided to use that money as a deposit to buy a flat and rent it out.
I had a Giulia Ti Sport (Veloce) in Misano Blue, like the one in this video, for two years and I've enjoyed every single moment with it. Not a single issue, just a lot of driving pleasure. Now I replaced it with another 2019 Giulia. I couldn't leave it. So far, it has been the best sport compact sedan I've ever had, and I had BMW and Audi other than Lancia and other Alfas. It's the perfect companion for my Maserati Ghibli SQ4.
I've driven a Giulia Veloce in red color. After that, the German cars have been colorless to me. What a beauty, I'd love to have one especially in blue or red. You can almost feel the legacy of the great Tazio Nuvolari in this modern car...
My son got a Guilia Veloce Q4 and we got a 300hp Golf R. The 280 HP Guilia is great, light with more torque and also nearly 20% more efficient and fun with a natural rear wheel drive feel, similar to the other bigger Q4 the Ghibli, but much lighter. All these are those better tuned modern body frame which stick better to the road with relatively soft springs, far away from stiff M3 obsolescence. The Golf R is very efficient, fast but artificial, robotized and rude without any torque vectoring nor rear wheels steering. Its intrusive E garbage correction is more Macan than S3 Quattro but also the only VW where ESP etc can be fully disconnected, but only for hard work on tracks. The Guilia Veloce is definitly more civilized, the Giorgio body is top and trying it is a must, even Stelvio handles great...in comparaison Stingers A4 and 3 series are boring lemons.
@@simomal4594 4wd issue must be the right hand steering same issue exists on the Ghibli where the rh side front ZF diff interfear with the steering column.
I've owned so many cars Including m5, e63 and now I own a stelvio q4, downsized engines due to fuel costs and what a drive, I've never driven a car that handles so well it just is such an exciting fulfillment to drive
Bought the identical car 1 month ago but in Monte Carlo Blue (darker) with Red calipers and Q4, can't get enough of it. Handles amazing, stunning to look at and just love to drive it... only upgrade I am making is a Sports exhaust system from Ragazzon as I would like to hear the sound a bit more 👍

The Alfa Quadrifoglio is a very special car. I had mine for 17mnths, travelled to Le Mans last year where it was loved and admired. I am currently thinking about my next choice having steadied the ship a little but I keep going back to quad..... Maybe I will return something I don't normally do, but it is so different believe me. As for the Veloce it looks a capable stand in for quad, the styling makes the car, love the blue..... Decisions decions, loved the video. 👍

It’s 5,2s to 100km/h and we have only Q4 setup for veloce in continental Europe. But still my Q4 is tail end happy to some extend. 5,7 sec is true when it comes to stelvio 280bhp.

To get closer to the Quadrifoglio feeling you can mount the Q's RDNA Rotative Switch and just reprogram the software - to get the RACE mode that switches off some helpers. Great stuff and easy to do: Switch, two adapters, software and a guy that knows about CAN.... There are nice tutorials out there!
thanks for the review, more channels should focus on these 'intermediate' configurations. Here in Milan, I see _a lot_ of these, whereas I've seen only one Quadrifoglio... and it makes sense, even if I could afford a QV I'd still go for the Veloce, _unless_ I was planning on taking it to the track a decent amount of times. On the road, I seriously doubt the QV is a better car. Sure, it sounds better, but I don't think I'd want to put 100.000miles on it.
I guess the idea is that a QV could have the capability to drive around the city like a Veloce, and then go full psycho mode while competing on the track! I usually never see any of the supercars I encounter driving faster than any other car around town!
Adding a hybrid on a 2.0 AWD and a tune makes this car run 0-60 in ~4.2sec. It is actually almost the same as You'd get from a QV, which can hardly make a repeatable claimed 3.9sec due to being RWD and poor traction. Most people and testers rather get a fair 4.2-4.5sec. Of course soundwise it's not the same, but still, 2.0 tuned is very close to QV for half a price.
Great review. Most people dont even know what the QV is let alone Veloce! It's perhaps a little underpowered but as you say, more than sufficient for most people.
Strange, the Veloce-versions in Holland are always in Q4-versions. They don’t have the side skirts of the Quadrifoglio though, like this version. Look’s good!
I think these would sell a lot more if they had a higher variant to rival Audi's S and bmw's m40i ranges. Around 350bhp - 400bhp would be the sweet spot. The Veloce and QV(power wise) is too big of a jump with nothing in between. You either have to choose one with not enough or one with too much power. Having said that, I got my heart set on getting a QV but would seriously consider one with 350bhp - 400bhp if they had one.
The Guila is gorgeous in this spec. My old e46 330 ZHP was 235 bhp and it was more than enough power for daily and the package as a whole was delicious and pure joy to pilot around. This Veloce spec sounds to me exactly what those fantastic ZHP cars offered. The current values of those cars today, over 15 yrs later shows how many appreciate and still want them. The Veloce will be a hit on the s come hand market once the real car enthusiast get their hands on it and start playing with it out of warranty. I would love to have this very car and will be Checking them out in the years to come. I do wish Alfa followed through and offered the manual as many of the early preproduction examples had. The manual on this Veloce spec would REALLY set it apart from the Q.V. and make its own special drivers special edition in the way the Corvette Grand Sport became the sweet spot compared to the Z06.
It's BEAUTIFUL, OK its NOT a QV, but still as wonderful. For money saved???? You'd still be a PROUD owner. Brilliant video Stef. “Poor mans”, I know you addressed the title. But this is a awesome car without the QV powertrain and definitely need some scrilla and great credit for it
One of the best reviews about this car on YT. Thank you very much and Greetings from Germany. This car is like an affair: a man should have one in his life ;)
That's actually a Veloce Ti and not a regular Veloce. The Ti is spec'd more like a Q with the alcantara seats and the carbon decoration and spoiler. The Veloce has Veloce leather seats for instance and doesn't have the carbon fiber decorations and rear spoiler.
Long term BMW owner here, and after BMW decided to make some of its current owners puke with the new generation BMW's I am seriously looking at this or the Quadrifolgio, I will probably buy the Quad, but lets see, not watched all this vid yet :D Styling wise I think the cars are gorgeous.
As I said elsewhere, I went on to buy the QV, epic machine and deeply in love 2yrs into ownership, forever car, now looking a Veloce 280 as a donor car to build into a race car, hence back here watching again :D
Just got a ‘23 Estrema and added a piggy back unit. I feel like with that I’ve closed the gap a bit between the base Giulia engine and the M340i/C43/S5. It’s now a reliable sub 5 second car and it feels so much better than the Germans. A Giulia with a tune is the definitely the move over the 6 cylinder Germans.
Just bought one of these, same colour on 18 inch wheels. Enough power as you say, though an easy remap for another 50 BHP. Great ride ( non run flats ), handles very well - you can feel the lack of weight though I disagree regarding steering - its quick, yes, but not dripping with feel, though it must be said I come from an era when great hydraulic racks were the norm. This is a car with character, early days regarding ownership but it seeems well put together. Mine doesnt have the Performance pack, few Veloces do as it takes them into a higher tax band on RRP. For those who have the PP ( ie LSD ), apparently it's possible to fit the Quad selector switch and alter TC settings fairly easily...
I am not into racing and going hugely fast. I just want it quick and agile. I got a 23 black w. red seats and it is soooo what i wanted, a grand touring dream. now considering an exhaust.
Great video man ! Gotta love the design of this beast for most people the lower BHP figure is more of a reason to buy really and will suit a lot of people as a daily
Thanks for this amazing video! 🔥🔥🔥 This definetely would be my Giulia, it has everything I love about the Giulia, and after I made a test drive I‘m convinced that 280hp are enough 😍😍😍👌🏻
Ok got a few notifications from various channels, I always decide to watch Stef channel last, yes with my sage coffee machine on standby. I then click the like button before the intro and totally relax and enjoy a well made content. Stef, you can only rise!!!
Alfa Romeo reports for the 2017 Giulia sport/veloce TI 0-60 is 5.1 seconds I believe, not 5.7 for anyone wondering here! My giulia 2.0 is heavily tuned and achieves 60 in 4.3 seconds, so you really can get these thing tuned up to be a lot quicker!
I think the Giulia is partially a victim of its own success. The Quadrifoglio is so good that it's the true one to look at. A car like the M3 doesn't have that higher level of extra soul alongside a 340i.
I daily the "Ti" aka Veloce and it makes a great daily driver. The car puts a smile on your face when you push it in a curve and is not that common around my area either. Don't get me wrong, the QV is glorious but I would keep that as a weekend fun car.
As Italian, I am pretty wonder to watch several British people who really appreciate the Italian cars, specially an Alfa!! Wonderful video my friend ✌🏻💪🏻 P.D.: why do you have in RWD?? Here in Germany Benzin and Diesel versions are Q4
You may want to learn that like on the Ghibli SQ4, in the Guilia, the Magna transfer gear with clutch behind the ZF 8HP gearbox goes Right Hand RH forward and the front shaft is placed RH of engine with front ZF differential as well and all this would interfear with a steering column on the RH like in the UK: that is why those cars are RWD only in the UK and on higher SUV this interference is less of an issue. This is not an exceptionnel case, for instance, the first Twingo 1 had no RH nor Diesel version for cost reasons. Philgood
Hi Stef. It is a very very nice car but for the price of a brand new Veloce you can buy a used Quadrifoglio with very low milage. Now you even have the diesel Veloce. Well came out a bit over a year ago. I would love to see someone buy one if these and tune it up and see where they can take it to. Nice review.
picked up a 2020 ti sport carbon few months back, its the US version of that veloce you had in the vid. had all the carbon bits (grill, side mirrors, side skirt and interior) from the QV except for the rear spoiler. got a good deal on it, exact spec i wanted (stromboli grey, red interior and red brakes) and there was about 18 ti sport carbons in the whole country at the time, only a handful of 2020's so shoot, why not. did not regret.
So this looks actually like the veloce yo edition, same engine but you get the cloverleaf wheels and carbon as standard. A normal veloce in Spencer comes at about 36k this is 45k unspecced.... I’ve driven it, I really want one
Nice review. But in doing a video that is saying that we can do without the biggest performance level of the line it would have been nice to have seen you bring this closer to the full performance level instead of just using the dynamic setting and telling us "it's close enough". I'd like to know how far it can go or at least if it is able to go closer. Thanks for the review nice car. Does it have an LSD?
I know the veloce would be the sensible option. They look just as good and with a few tweaks, 300 hp would be more than enough to have plenty of fun. But it's not the cream in your coffee, the booze in your tiramisu or the punchy limoncella shot of the gold standard, Italian, rear wheel drive super saloon that is the Four Cheese
I just feel like they could've added some fun, good sounding pops like they do with the Abarths in Sport mode... It would've made this thing PERFECT. Thanks for the video, super informative!
thanks for making a Video about the Veloce! i ordered one 2 months back, same color and Carbon Fibre Scudetto, Mirrors and Spoiler + the Sun Roof. 6 more weeks until i get it. Boy im so Hyped :D

and it makes sense, even if I could afford a QV I'd still go for the Veloce, _unless_ I was planning on taking it to the track a decent amount of times.
Very nice car, i do like the design and styling. With 280 hp and a 5.7 second 0-100kms this car is still quicker than 90% out there!!
Indeed! It’s a great car
It's actually 5.2 sec in AWD version.
If I were to replace my GT, this is the model I would go for. Its the one I have my eye on.
Would love to see a review on a hot version of the MiTo. Such a cool little car imo and perfect entry for a newer driver
Yeah need to try find one lol
Stef ABtv where are you based? I’ve got one you can review!😊
This car looks super fun. It goes without saying I'd prefer a QV but there is literally no use for a car as powerful as the QV on normal roads
They wouldn't. People still think Alfas are not reliable, that's why they don't sell. And crap dealership also.
It's BEAUTIFUL,
OK its NOT a QV, but still as wonderful.
For money saved???? You'd still be a PROUD owner.
Brilliant video Stef.
PLUS,
EVERYONE of us, needs to get onboard with the 4-OCEAN program,
Well done for promoting this Stef,
Cars aside, the 4 Ocean team are doing a FANTASTIC job,
As are you Stef. Yet again, another GREAT viddy
Your friend & biggest fan,
Canada Carl.
4-Ocean supporter!!!
Unbeatable Design!! it does total justice to that blue!
Important to point out that this model is the Veloce Ti not a Veloce
Long term BMW owner here, and after BMW decided to make some of its current owners puke with the new generation BMW's I am seriously looking at this or the Quadrifolgio, I will probably buy the Quad, but lets see, not watched all this vid yet :D
Styling wise I think the cars are gorgeous.
This definetely would be my Giulia, it has everything I love about the Giulia, and after I made a test drive I‘m convinced that 280hp are enough 😍😍😍👌🏻
@Thomas P now test drive the QV and you’ll be saving up for it...
Hiten Patel well, that could be true... 🤭😅
I just bought nearly this exact spec (Ti Sport Carbon in America) of a car yesterday and I am in love......
Congrats!!!
I’ve been in love since January this year when I got mine. Enjoy yours and please be gentle with her 😀
Ok got a few notifications from various channels, I always decide to watch Stef channel last, yes with my sage coffee machine on standby. I then click the like button before the intro and totally relax and enjoy a well made content. Stef, you can only rise!!!
Italian cars normally have a good steering rack. A car that impressed me in that aspect, believe it or not, was the MG3.
I deeply want one of these. Love it like nothing !
I just purchased an Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce, white with red interior I am in love 😩😩😩
I’ve got one, fallen in love with it!
is it reliable? thinking about getting one
CollosalProductions please update us on reliability
I think the Giulia is partially a victim of its own success. The Quadrifoglio is so good that it's the true one to look at. A car like the M3 doesn't have that higher level of extra soul alongside a 340i.
I daily the "Ti" aka Veloce and it makes a great daily driver. The car puts a smile on your face when you push it in a curve and is not that common around my area either. Don't get me wrong, the QV is glorious but I would keep that as a weekend fun car.
Turn left ! Doctor Who teached us not to do so ! Lovely car and great video man :)
Lol they had a set route in the nav 😂
The curb weight is around 1360 kg on a two liter Giulia (non Q4)
As Italian, I am pretty wonder to watch several British people who really appreciate the Italian cars, specially an Alfa!!
Wonderful video my friend ✌🏻💪🏻
P.D.: why do you have in RWD??
Philgood
@@philgooddr.7850 Interesting! Thanks for the answer. Best regards!
Very good Car! Really recommended!!
It is quick!! Means Veloce!!For half price
It looks amazing in the blue. Better than the red I think.
Could be the one to buy - certainly a brilliant Q car - good review Stef
Standard Veloce starts at under £40k in that paint with the wheels and the performance pack. It's a smidge under £44k.
Thats the most beautiful looking car ive ever seen. I usualy only buy 2 door coupes or 3 door hatches but Im really tempted by one of these
There's only one downside to this gorgeous car...no manual option. Cmon Alpha, you're ruining the driving experience!!
picked up a 2020 ti sport carbon few months back, its the US version of that veloce you had in the vid. had all the carbon bits (grill, side mirrors, side skirt and interior) from the QV except for the rear spoiler. got a good deal on it, exact spec i wanted (stromboli grey, red interior and red brakes) and there was about 18 ti sport carbons in the whole country at the time, only a handful of 2020's so shoot, why not. did not regret.
So this looks actually like the veloce yo edition, same engine but you get the cloverleaf wheels and carbon as standard. A normal veloce in Spencer comes at about 36k this is 45k unspecced....
I’ve driven it, I really want one
Yo edition? Bloody phone, should say Ti
Still looks good even being the poor cousin.
the workable happy medium between minimum and maximum is called optimum. This version of Guila is just that.
It’s not bad actually. Excellent review by the way.
Utterly stunning car.
I love my TI Sport. Probably should have got the Veloce but still, an Alfa is an Alfa lol. Misano Blue is by far there best color imo.
Got be vesuvio grey (or whatever it’s called) and red leather interior though :)
You are so good at this, I trust your opinion too, good work Stef
Stef nice car. Celtic Tuning stage one, 324bhp & 349lb/ft, also 24 Quadrifoglio on Auto trader for Under 50k. tempting, all the best. Jerry
It's not but 280hp gets you places and the Veloce is also Q4. If you drive the autobahn and not the race track then you're not missing anything.
Great review you have a brilliant presence on camera
Thank you
Interesting that this one sounds quite raunchy inside, newer ones are silent even in dynamic.
Great review as always Stef.
I would love you to do a review on my veloce with stage 1 mods, gearbox remap and exhaust change. Full carbon pack too.
Race mode available from Celtic tuning for just under 200 pounds
I just feel like they could've added some fun, good sounding pops like they do with the Abarths in Sport mode... It would've made this thing PERFECT. Thanks for the video, super informative!
Love the colour wish I had a blue QV... Oh wait I do! Great vid amazing model.
lol nice car :)
The best...bravo Alfa!!
I wasn't clear on this: Does the Veloce use the same sheetmetal as the Quadrifoglio, or the narrower fenders of the base model?
it uses a one of its kind with bigger air intakes than the normal one
For a daily driver probably the Veloce is even better than the QV.
I have a Veloce Q4. It indeed exists and it's awesome.
Gotta say I absolutely love my giulia it’s so sick and I’m a Mercedes guy, s550, e63, Cla 45 but this is just different and I’m in love
thanks for making a Video about the Veloce! i ordered one 2 months back, same color and Carbon Fibre Scudetto, Mirrors and Spoiler + the Sun Roof. 6 more weeks until i get it. Boy im so Hyped :D
Thanks Stef this car would suit me fine. I’m going to check this out at the dealer, hope it’s available in Canada.
Bill Wilson Our TI sport is pretty much the same here!
Yes buy a Q4 Ti Sport with the sport performance package and you won’t be disappointed. I have one.
