@@dougsmith8950 actually no it didn’t. I did water it down pretty good afterwards though. To be honest I didn’t care if the grass around the edge of the bottom of the fence died because I like to keep the grass cleared from it anyways.
A Full 2-gallons is 100% liquid. He used 20% bleach, so 80% water. The strength of the bleach is also important so you know the actual strength of the bleach-water mix you're spraying.
Have you tried using Sodium percarbonate instead of bleach(SH)? Bleach is tough on the wood as well as the grass on the lawn. Well, actually bleach is tough on everything it touches...
Would like to get some feedback regarding the chemicals effect on the other side of the fence. Do your customers neighbors get streaks running down their side from overspray?
Make sure to wet grass beneath the fence. SH will kill vegetation. The good thing about sh is it penetrates the wood., but i recommend rinsing. High alkaline will make surfaces yellow. I would finish the job, after rinsing, with oxalic acid to neutralize alkali and oxalic will whiten the wood even more.
Hi , I'm in the UK where not many people have pools so are not familiar with pool equipment . Please can you confirm the active chemical in your SH . Is it sodium hypochlorite (bleach)? thanks .
Looks good. Always saturate your fence really really good. And then your SH does not penetrate the wood and dry it from the inside out. You'll just clean the exterior surface. It's very important to wet the wood first. But it's a learning process. Keep up the good work
And you'll learn about oxalic acid to neutralize and 'brighten' the fence. Bleaching it turns it a fake looking white. When you brighten it and then rinse it, it will go back to Bright but natural look.
Im pretty sure most people are leaning away from using bleach on wood these days. Ive always used it when cleaning decks, and exterior trim but when researching some products i came across many articles demonstrating how bleach can destroy wood. From now on i will try sodium percarbonate followed by vinegar for wood cleaning. Im sure people will disagree with me but do your own research and you can decide, good luck with your business.
Dee El Not necessarily. It's not good for wood if you put it on Drywood because it will saturate the wood and it can do damage on the inside. If you wet the wood first, now the bleach only affects the top layer or the exterior if you will, and you're killing the mold spores, and then youre immediately rinsing it away
I'm planning to stain with Behr All-in-One our new fence and not sure if you need to prewash a new pickets (they were washed 2 times by the rain and look very good). Thank you for your film.
Do you have to neutralize the SH after applying it if your going to stain with a semi transparent stain after treatment? If so does just rinsing with water work? Or do you need to use vinegar or something like it first before rinsing with water ?

Did you add some soap to the mix to make it stick a little better?
No, I did not know to do that:) Makes since from what I've been reading. Thanks for bring that up Mike!

Does SH damage plants?
Pre wet the wood
Put like 6oz of liquid soap or dish detergent to make the sh run down slower. Add like 4 to 6oz for every 2 gallon of water 3:40
Update: I’ve change my mix ratio to about 35% and it made it even better!
Can I use 35% Pool Essentials (10% SH) and the rest water.
I'm learning and experimenting on my own home before I take a class.
Thank you in advance
Yes, play with concentration and you’ll get results.

Where can I buy the product and what's the name of it please someone answer me
it is called 30 seconds outdoor cleaner.
I bought it from Home Depot about 1 gallon it really do work but you have to keep it for like more than 5 minute on the wood
Under pressure powerwashing 🤔 I've heard of that company before?
Well overused name in the industry. I've counted 70-80 nationwide.
Yeah, I used that name like 17 years ago. I am old school:)
Do you buy in bulk
What is the solution you used?

What percent sh did you use? And what does 20% sh mean in a 2 gallon pump sprayer

Yes bc the wood will dry out the longer the sh is on it. Always pre soak the wood and rinse after

Amazing.
What is SH?
That worked incredibly fast and looks great! Did you use 12.5% SH in your sprayer? I've subbed your channel! Cheers - Luther
After you spray it with the sprayer and you let it set do you rinse it off with clear water?
Yes otherwise if rain doesn't come you may cause damage as the strength vs wood can be too much
where do you buy sh
Where did you get the Sodium hypochlorite?
Any pool store
He's yummy!!! I'm subscribing!
Can i leave my remainder oxalic acid mix in a container and use it the following day ?
Thanks, Gerry from San Diego, CA
You just need a surfactant so it stays "wet"
What??? Explain.
Surfactant - Liquid Soap like Dawn or Gain DISH Soap, just a little bit (1 or 2 big squeezes of the soap container)
Am I the only one who does not know what SH is ?
No, what the heck is SH?
SH = Sodium Hypochlorite
A.k.a. Bleach
Dilute Pool chlorine with water will do the job
Sodium Hypochlorite is chlorine bleach ( stronger, usually what people are talking about)
Sodium hydroxide is oxygen bleach
(Less strong, but safer )
What is sh?
You should wet wood 1st
Mildew Remover.
oxalic acid is the best... Be careful with it.
What %SH are you using here? 12.5% or 10%
I am not sure now:( I used pool SH from Walmart.

Just to be on the safe side, pre soak plants/ bushes with plenty of water since some vegetation is sensitive enough that it could be harmed by the SH
