Doc cleans and restores the fence and removes the dark colors and gray. Over time the UV rays and oxidation change the color of wood from brown to gray. Then as the wood ages tannins darken making big dark patches. Doc explains the difference between cleaning mold and algae off fences and decks vs. removing the impacts of aging.

Thank you for this video doc! Impressive results! I didn't think it was possible to get a fence that clean beyond pressure washing and a bleach based cleaner.

Nice work, Doc. Hey, I know you like the 30-second cleaner but I've read that bleach isn't good for PT wood (I have a pine deck). Have you experienced that? It's making me lean to an oxy bleach instead, have you tried it? Also, if the 30-second cleaner is mainly bleach, can you save by just buying bleach and diluting it? Oh, and I believe the Valspar all-in-one wood prep is mainly an oxalic acid solution (brightener) for anyone wondering. Why the brands hide this I don't know.

Great job. That looks really nice 👍. I have a neighbor with a fence that could use a good cleaning.

Doc, I have used both the 30 Second Cleaner and the Armour cleaner as well with similar results as you. But a year ago I tried Spray Nine on the siding of our house and found it to be even better than 30 Second Cleaner. I did my house October of 2020 and there isnt a spot of algae anywhere. With 30 Second Cleaner I was getting about 10 months before algae started creeping back. I have not tried Spray Nine on wood yet but am going to give it a whirl on our Pergola and Trex deck Wondering if you tried that product yet.

Fence looks so clean. 30s then valspar. Did you dilute your valspar?

Hey Doc, a few questions. when was this fence originally put up? Is it pressure treated pine? What stain was used (oil based?) , when was it stained?

There's actually a video on his channel about it. it was installed maybe a year and a half ago (I forget the exact timeframe). Also, don't recall him ever staining this fence.

@howtowithdoc Hello, my question is in regards to pressure washing high areas. I’m not comfortable using ladders so I purchased a scaffold. It’s pretty simple to set up but I’m not sure if it’s practical to set up and break down for every job. I’ve purchased a dial-n-wash pressure regulator but it is not sufficient. What do you absolutely recommend to reach the second level exterior house on jobs? I’m considering returning the scaffold depending on your response. Please advise.

Did you do both sides. How do you clean a side, if your neighbors won't let you in their yard? Can you reach over?

Hey Doc, hope you don't mind, but I'm going off topic. I watch and rewatch your videos and found one from a year or so ago where you bought grape plants and you haven't mentioned them since. Did you have any luck? I've wanted to try grapes. Sorry for the deversion and thanks for your videos. I really appreciate the organic.
