In this video I show you a live 10 minute portrait shoot with a bride, where I use gifts or presents which I find at the wedding venue to make creative natural light portraits.
Almost every wedding venue will have things which you can utilise to create creative bride portraits, these things can include mirrors, glass and things which you can shoot through. You just have to try and train your eye to see these things and the potential which they can offer.
A huge thank you to Ashfield House in Lancashire (www.ashfieldhouseweddings.co.uk/) for allowing me to use their beautiful venue for this shoot, my friends Beth Cammack ( / bethanycammack) for modelling and Marc for filming ( / marclee78 )

Neil, as always a fantastic insight into your photographer's brain! I live in Perth WA and our constant sunshine (sorry!) doesn't really lend itself to that lovely natural (cloud driven) light you have in the UK. Any tips for using the same style but with sunlight streaming in (and avoiding over exposure!). Thanks mate.

@@NeilRedfern be interested Neil in buying that one preset if you would sell it..
Or maybe make a video of how you edit the image and retain a warm glow.on the model it.brides skin when doing so..
Either way man, I love your stuff and I am following your journey and also implicating your techniques into.my own wedding photography, actually picking up a 35mm this weekend have the 85 and going to check that out, be a bit scared to leave all the lenses at home but will do in time. Hi Neil, Is there a reason why you prefered to kill the ambient light instead of showing the beatiful environment? Do you think it would have distract, detract from the model? Thanks (for everything, not just for the answer)

    • @NeilRedfern
