      This command does not turns the WiFi off, it just removes the live internet requirement during setup.
      Your computer should work as it is once you are in windows.
      Hit the windows button and type device manager.
      Look network adapters.
      Do you see a WiFi card there?

      I am sorry. Sounds like you have a laptop with Windows S mode. That is a restricted, secure mode, it`s really designed to be resilient against hacking and modification. There might be a workaround still, but probably way too complicated due to the S mode Windows.
      You will have to create an online account, you don’t have to use yours, just make an outlook just to be able to log into windows.
      Make sure you write the password down.
      Once you are in windows, go to the app store and search for remove S mode.
      It will do it for free and convert the S mode to a regular windows home version.

      If you have a modem or router with lan network ports, you can get a usb 3 or usb C to Ethernet adapter for about $10 so you can hard wire intent to the pc.
      The other option is turning on sharing your internet on your cell phone , using your original cable. Plug the cable into the pc, it should able to use that internet to get through the setup and download the right WiFi driver.
      Let me know if you need help with this.

    • @ncdave4life
      @ncdave4life 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's Win 11 S mode. (I'm setting it up for someone's grandmother, who has a history of being victimized by scammers.)
      Shift+F10 just flickers the mouse cursor, it doesn't open a command prompt. Alt+Tab shows that there's no hidden command prompt.
      After that failed, WindowsKey+R did bring up the "Run" prompt, but it won't let me run either cmd or C:\Windows\System32\oobe\BypassNRO.cmd
      I examined BypassNRO.cmd on a different computer and it just pokes the registry and reboots:
      *reg add HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OOBE /v BypassNRO /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f*
      However, "reg" won't run from the "Run" prompt, either.
      At this point, all I can think of to try is using an offline registry editor to make that registry change. Do you have any better ideas?

      Just downloaded the latest w11 from Microsoft and the old workaround still worked in my case. Don’t worry about the bypass, make sure you have internet and just proceed with the setup.
      Sign in with “abc@abc.com enter a random password. “ oops something went wrong “ if it takes you back to the same sign in window just do it one more time , it passed me over to least create a local account.

      @Scott.The.IT.Guy.  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ncdave4life Do not create a new account. Just use the " dummy" account to trigger the " oops someting went wrong " Microsoft error message. that will result to letting you create a local account .

      @Scott.The.IT.Guy.  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No problem. If you have neither Wi-Fi nor hard wired connection, we can do two things. Do you have a cell phone with a USB cable? If you do, please turn the hotspot on, plug the USB cable into the computer. Another option is installing a network card driver during windows installation VIA USB drive. (I can also help you with that if the phone hotspot is not an option.

      @@MountainisFullofDragons This thing is a hit or miss for some reason, I deployed the latest version of W11 many times just this week alone and had no issues.
      If you have W10 installed already, head over to Microsoft and download the W11 iso:
      www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
      Don’t worry about the update assistant, open the iso and do an in-place upgrade, where you select to keep your data and applications as it is during the upgrade. It works 99.9% of the time without any issues.
