    Also yep many have mentioned Chris Titus Tech made a video about this yesterday, I swear I didn't copy him, these videos take a few days to make 😅.
    • You should check out his video here though, he actually has a Windows debloat/customization tool he made himself that is much more advanced than my basic script: th-cam.com/video/6UQZ5oQg8XA/w-d-xo.html
    (Also fun fact I met him at LTX 2023 this year 👍)

    This explains why I constantly see people complain about bloatware, while I never got it. Same with adware and stuff. I live in Belgium, and we have a "special" version of Windows that ONLY comes with Microsoft apps installed. Unfortunately, that "special" version also comes with certain semi-important features disabled/not present, but you can enable/download them through the features in the settings. 3. Bypass Microsoft Account Setup requirement
    4. Permanently activate Windows 11 via HWID

    • @ExploitedShells
      @ExploitedShells ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@50PullUps First of all, if you think that most systems are being hacked due to no TPM & SB, you're delusional. TPM & SB are only now mandatory by Microsoft and older systems will/have never used them.
      Also, I don't disable any of these features. The ISO is setup to bypass all these requirements so older systems with no TPM & SB can also install Windows 11 and not end up being insecure when Windows 10 goes EOL. You may already know that there are still completely capable newer PCs that after the new mandatory requirements by Microsoft, they suddenly can't upgrade to Windows 11 because Microsoft decided that their CPU is not supported for some stupid reason.

    Thank you for this video and the script. I just used it to get rid of some bloat, however it seems to be unable to uninstall Edge, even in Admin mode. Fails with the error "0x80073CFA".
    Also, just 2 tiny things you could have mentioned:
    For some reason, when PowerShell is in Admin mode, you cannot drop files into it. You have to copy&paste the path.
    The 2nd thing is that you should probably run the script when PowerShell is in FullScreen, since some of the package names are really long and if you use a small window they just get cut off with ".." at the end, which means you cannot copy the entire name.

    Funny. I had selected English (World) a long time ago, STRICTLY BY ACCIDENT, and wondered where all the 3rd party apps were? I thought it was a fluke and just considered it a lucky fluke. I also remember being rather concerned about this slip-up and made sure to select English (United States) as soon as I could (I also remember nervously selecting the SKIP option). NOW I finally know what I did.

  • @Woodzta

    Since the bloatware seems to be account specific, I'm guessing if you've changed the region from World to e.g. UK or US that it will unfortunately appear on new accounts? Has anyone tested that?

    • @ThioJoe
      @ThioJoe  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not sure tbh

    • @letao12
      @letao12 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThioJoe The "English (World)" trick should work for all accounts. But for your script, you should add "-AllUsers" option on the "Remove-AppxPackage" command to make sure it gets uninstalled for all accounts, otherwise it's only for the current user account and the files still stay on disk.

    • @jowjowbro
      @jowjowbro ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on what settings you change, if you only change the current account's region, new account will still start in English(world) which is a seperate setting you can adjust in windows. Configuration->land/region->go to administrative tab -> copy settings on the loginscreen and new user accounts

    • @Woodzta
      @Woodzta ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jowjowbro Hmm, yes I think you've cleared it up most of the way, but the rest seems to be good news nonetheless. So on the installation screen, you can only choose World for the time and currency format. Therefore, it seems you'd have to go out of your way and copy region settings in the classic control panel for new accounts just as you've described. I've changed the "Regional Format" in the new metro UI but it doesn't copy or make any difference for new accounts from what I've tested.
      I can't see a reason to copy to new accounts. If/when someone can't access the store, it tells them why, and they can simply change their "Format" in the metro UI and they're done. 👍

    I installed Windows 11 with the region set to Germany, because that's where I am from, and I also didn't have any of the bloatware you show in your video. In fact, the only stuff I do see on the start menu is the regular Windows applications like My PC, Explorer and Music, and stuff I installed myself, like Office.

    There are lots of really great aspects to this video:
    * You show us what brought us here straight away without a prolonged intro.
    * Little tips like downloading from the Raw button.
    * Going over possible errors, the why, and how to fix them.
    * Going over the script itself so we know what it's doing.
    * Giving credit where it's due.
    * And the whole thing is quick, concise, easy to follow, and pleasant to watch.
    Very nice video. Well done.
