      Im Australian too so I googled, and this is the first to come up from lyonslaw "Each Australian territory has a statute of limitations. The set time limitations for most of the summary offenses within the Australian jurisdictions range from 6 months to 12 years. However, there is no statute of limitation in Australia for serious indictable offenses dealt with in the Supreme Court."

    Jesus, that ending was brutal. Having a statute of limitations on murder to me is wild. If they have DNA left from however they found the killer’s blood type, they could possibly find the perpetrator with genetic genealogy now. So sad that it’s just closed with no answers for the families of the victims.

    I heard about this case from KyotoRobo. I have a feeling the killer might still be out there but if they have killed since these murders I have no clue. This is why the police should DNA test the samples found on the women because if there were more murders committed by this person outside the prefecture then Japan has another serial killer in the midst.

      It wasn't Keiko's husband who encouraged her to go bracken picking in the first place. It was Eiko who invited Keiko to pick bracken. And Eiko has the experience of picking bracken many times, and Keiko had never been there before. Therefore, I can't imagine Keiko's husband saying to his wife, who had never been to pick bracken, "Invite your friends to go pick bracken in an area where sexual assaults are frequent." So I don't think there was probably a conversation between the couple that is said in this video. By the way, the crime scene was not a place where sexual assault and prostitution are rampant, but a place where local residents enjoy picnics and picking edible wild plants.

Using this note, they approached the women to gain acess and their company and their trust as the women felt they could help this person gain some safety..as this place was known for being dangerous for women . Putting the note in her pocket... they then were attacked by these people..

    • @MrPortajohn
      @MrPortajohn 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I mean, he did suggest she not go alone, and that's just the phrasing used here. For all we know the firmness could have been lost in translation and instead of a wishy-washy suggestion it could have been more like "do not go alone" rather than "maybe have someone go with you" and that's only if the conversation even went that way at all. You have to keep the variables in mind. This telling is at the very least a third hand account. I'm sure you've played telephone before, so consider that and toss in the language barrier. I personally wouldn't ask a woman to go to a place like that, but if they're not going alone, and it was midday, it wouldn't be that concerning. To suggest malicious intent isn't really fair to the guy. It's not like he waited around and didn't report it for days or anything like that, and it's something that will likely haunt him his entire life

    • @punpunpun-cd4hz
      @punpunpun-cd4hz 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In the first place, Keiko had never gone to pick bracken before, and the day of the incident was her first time picking bracken. Therefore, it is hard to imagine that Keiko's husband would suddenly tell her to go and collect bracken when she had never done so before. On the other hand, Eiko has a lot of experience picking bracken, and she had already gone into the mountains five times that year alone. So, if you think about it with common sense, it would be normal to think that Eiko invited Keiko to go bracken picking. In the first place, the crime scene was not a place where SA or prostitution takes place, but a place where local people go for picnics on holidays. Some say that it is just a rumor that there have been many SA at the crime scene. There seems to be no clear source to support that SA occurred there. On the contrary, there were reports at the time of the incident that no suspicious persons such as molesters had ever appeared at the crime scene. So I don't think the conversation mentioned in the video between Keiko and her husband actually took place.

In fact, it is said that there was no connection between the victims of these two murders. I think that such rumors spread probably because there were a series of gruesome murders in the same area at short intervals. So, I don't think the third woman who is said to have gone bracken picking with the victims did not exist in the first place.

    What kind of husband is going to be ok with his wife going to a place KNOWN for sexual assaults?
    Why didn’t he go with her instead of advising her to bring a friend?
    Good grief.

    Why would a husband tell his wife she should go to an area known for sexual assaults?? Baffling. I imagine he lived painfully with that suggestion for a long time. May these women rest in peace. Ridiculous that Japan has a statute of limitations for murder.

    How is the third companion cut completely out of the story‽ If she was with them she is a witness to something, even if she left them before the attack. If she wasn’t with them then she does not figure into the story at all.
    Also, how could one person savagely beat and rape two women unless he restrained at least one of them when he attacked the other, not to mention the third woman who may ir may not have been with them‽
    I think more than one person attacked these poor women.
    That a third woman, the identity of whom is apparently known to the police, may have been with them, and who was subsequently murdered, yet nothing regarding her account of the events has been disclosed is just bizarre! What could explain that? Was the third woman mentally challenged and unable to communicate or what?

    Go pick these things but be careful because there is always the chance you could be attacked and s*#ually assaulted or murdered. I cant imagine my husband telling me to go to a place that's known for its dangers. If It was my idea to go he still wouldn't allow it. I would think he lost his mind if he suggested it. I'm commenting at the beginning of the video so it could be an innocent suggestion or a set up by the husband. I guess I'll find out shortly. 😊
