Some do, unfortunately, you get a lot of false reports, screaming in the distance can be quite hard to distinguish as positive or negative unless particularly terrified sounding, and also sometimes people play movies/music/video games quite loud, or its animals screaming, and cops aren't always eager to listen anyway.

@@peterj5106 I was commenting on the narrative jump, not the career jump. I think the point here is that the narrator didn't want to introduce the victim as a gangster's wife, which might lessen audience sympathy up front. So she initially presented him in a somewhat misleading light as just some smooth-talking layabout that the victim hooked up with at a 'street party'.

What a tragedy, two beautiful children. They and their mother paid dearly for the choices she made, marrying a man who was a little kid AND a main member of a street gang (bad combination), and then cheating on him. Her children had no father in their lives already. Apparently she was a good person but making terrible choices with men, which ended up undoing all that she was working for, and handing her and her kids a death sentence at the hands of this punk. May their souls rest in peace and others learn what they can from it. RIP

So sorry for this family. So much heartbreak. Toledo needs to reveal the location of the bodies of his victims. Echoing another comment here, prisoners who don't reveal this type of information should be restricted from privileges until they do so. Religious people make it VERY difficult for me to be respectful about their beliefs when they seem to be constantly looking the other way when it comes to abuse and violence against women. Also how common it is for way older men to marry young naive women.

This is what happens when you choose your love life over your children.
If she wanted to lay up with a gang banger at least leave them with someone that will take care of them. Poor babies were failed by the one that should have kept them safe.

I wish she would have stayed at her mom’s house that night, but I can also understand she wanted to protect her mom by taking herself out of her house, because Louise would probably cause havoc at her home. She probably thought working it out with him would calm him down and he’d eventually stop threatening her. I get it. He killed the trio with no doubt. As far as her lover, has anyone questioned him?

This case makes me mad because once again, a single mother prioritizing a good-for-nothing man over her and her children’s safety.
I know people are going to say “Men are mAnIPuLaTiVe” but please. He was in a gang and she knew he was a bum and _still_ chose him. I can’t for the life of me understand why some women are so desperate to be in a relationship that they’ll look past every red flag because they’d rather have _any_ man than none at all. Raise your standards ffs, just because you have kids doesn’t mean you have to settle for any scumbag that looks your way!

8:18 Hearing this ALWAYS infuriates me, when neighbors _later_ attest to having heard screams late at night coming from the victim’s home but didn’t do jack shit about it at the time. If I heard screaming late at night coming from my neighbors house, a house with small children, a house with DV issues, you bet your ass I’m calling the cops. Or, at the very least, I’m going over there myself to make sure everyone’s okay.
