The fact that these low life pieces of excrement got away with this makes it even worse. Although even if they had been caught the punishment would not have been fitting to the crime.
Crimes like this are a good argument for the death penalty.
If her children’s father wasn’t a coward in addition to being a deadbeat drug addict loser and thief, he wouldn’t lie about why this happened or who did it.
Sentencing in the 1990s was also much weaker, but the tradeoff was that prison conditions were worse.
I imagine the perpetrators slipped out of the UK and went back to Jamaica shortly afterwards.
Absolutely. They had local accents and probably grew up in Birmingham, but Jamaica is pretty generous on citizenship and getting passports. These guys probably had all of that and simply left the UK.
Stephen Lawrence's father has since moved to Jamaica, and even in TV's Top Boy people were fleeing to Jamaica quite a lot to avoid heat in London.
Not only that but the husband knew who killed her but is protect them.

Horrific. There's no way people don't know who done this. I find it quite hard to believe that her partner doesn't know, if he doesn't know who did it then he obviously knows who he owed money to that ordered the attack.
Maybe not her partner, but someone definitely knows. Other than the direct culprits that is.

@@jeffjones3040Her partner is 100% the person that knows. He’s who they were looking for, he’s the one that lifted drugs off of them to begin with.
Her partner was clearly on the wrong side of the people who did this and I don't believe Tracey had any true understanding of the danger she would have been in. Whether he owed them money, or he had worked for them and things went sour (perhaps he stole from them or had messed up on something they made him do), I guess we'll never know.
@@halfbakedproductions7887The fact they got her as soon as she returned to their former home suggests someone who knew her saw her & informed her killers that she was back in the area. First think they did was ask her where Joey was, there is no way I can see how Joey nor other people in that area don't know who was behind this, he obviously knows who he owed money to & who they fled the area in the first place to escape the wrath of in the first place. It's mad this case hasn't been solved, people know the culprits there's no doubt in my mind about it. Some are probably too scared to talk & some probably just don't care enough to talk.

@@jeffjones3040 - The killers chose this location that they had to drive to. That, with the writing on the window, seems like a warning to someone associated with this church (or religion). Or they were trying to make her death look like it was related to something else (to throw their scent).

I'm from Birmingham & actually remember this happening to this lady. I know a lot of people were of the opinion that her partner Joey knew a lot more than he let on. My opinion hasn't changed.

This case is truly horrific. Tracey sacrificed her own life to protect her beloved children. May she never be forgotten.
I hope the police kept surveillance on Joey afterwards to see if the killers/their associates did track him down to collect their payment, although I imagine they probably lay low or scarpered.

I hate unsolved cases! But I’m also glad they are brought up to light and given respect and new focus. Hopefully these videos will somehow help solving these cold cases.
It is well known who the perps are, but gaining a conviction is another matter. Jamaican gangsters are EXTREMELY violent, as I found out in the early 70s! That is all I'll say. On the other hand, Rastas are some of the kindest folks on earth😊

This case is horrific. People will know who the perps are. What about the partner? he had the drug debt. Its not often these cases upset me but this one really did. To douse a woman in fuel and ignite her , its evil beyond belief.

Good Lord! No murder is "lovely", but being burnt, that's just awful and points to someone with real cruelty.
(At first, seeing a church, I was reminded of a case in the UK where a woman - I believe she may have been from the Netherlands, but she was a foreigner- was murdered and her body hidden in the church. I'm not sure if it was Scotland or not, but does anyone know the case I'm thinking of? I believe her body was found under the floor, it wasn't a tiny little church. Sorry to be so frustrating, I just can't remember the names (how sad, I hear a woman's tragic story and can't remember her name!) - just did a search, she was Polish, Angelika Kluk was the spelling, I believe. Interesting and sad story if you need a suggestion - although, sadly, there seems to be way too many victims to choose from!)
Yeah her name was Angelina Kluk. She was murdered by the serial killer monster, Peter Tobin. After he ended her life, he buried her beneath the floorboards of a church in Anderston, Glasgow. Thankfully, the evil piece of filth is now dead, so he can no longer target young women any more..
Also I might add if the law hasn't worked this out then their in the wrong profession also with these low life pushers like joey they get picked up so many times as they're small fry ( the top movers are to savvy ) that a lot of them trade certain info with the law thus giving themselves an easier time when picked up by other forces who they are not known to .....hes a nark that's been involved in either taking stuff and not paying or he's put someone in the frame ...as I said all rds lead to Joey . I feel bad for thinking it…but am I the only one who thinks she MIGHT have done this to herself? The story doesn’t make sense being committed by two black men. The hour drive to a random church, in broad daylight, leaving the petrol can at the scene? She seemed to be having a mental crisis at the time by asking her sister to tape the letterbox etc. She could easily have doused herself and used a match which would have burnt away with the fire. I hope if it was two perps that they get caught, but something doesn’t sit right here.

This is a horrible crime, hopefully the police will preform family tree dna great success has been finding criminals who did crimes 50 years ago. Of course the sooner the better with these things ,as it’s always best to get them before they die, but many have been proven killers after death by digging the up or testing their kids.

The boyfriend had clearly somehow got on the wrong side of those yardies in Birmingham, either owing them money, or had some other dealings with them which had gone sour. That explains why she had to move so suddenly, and it's quite possible Tracey never knew the truth and didn't have any understanding of the danger she would be in. Perhaps nobody ever expected or anticipated those men turning up.
Admitting to any of this would put his family in danger and would likely incriminate himself. It also seems to me that there is probably no worse place to be in life than being locked up in prison, while people on the outside are actively targetting your loved ones. He would feel so helpless.
I'd also happily bet those involved had Jamaican passports and/or citizenships, so left the UK not long after. They very likely grew up in Birmingham, but Jamaica is pretty generous on that front, based on parentage and heritage. They would have had no trouble getting out there and being able to stay.
The men likely knew the churchyard location already, and chances are it was chosen because it's a very small and isolated place. I don't think the men expected her to be found alive and be able to tell the police so much, so that feels like part of their plan which backfired.
After a while, if they are Jamaican they will come back to the UK. Legally or otherwise. (Spoken based on experience living as a Jamaican - the draw of the UK is strong and so is the currency).
