    God bless you Nosa. You gave a clear explanation of everything I needed to know. With all the chaos about doctors leaving NHS, I was in dilemma what to do. Now I realised, we need to bear 3 years of GP training and one completed, the income after that is directly proportional to the hard work put in.

    Kindly explain d difference between doctors in FY1, FY2, ST1 or ST2 and all dose stuff. Does it have to do with yrs of experience.

    • @bmcdermott
      @bmcdermott 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      After medical school in the UK, everyone does a foundation programme (2 years - FY1 and FY2).
      Once you enter specialty training, you are ST1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8 ("registrar") according to how many years you've been specialising for. Once you are fully specialised, you are a consultant.
      Although people can spend years in non-training roles, so for example an ST1 may be a doctor who's 3 years post-graduation, or they could have been a doctor for more years but only just entered specialty training.
      In GP, specialty training is 3 years so you go FY1-FY2-ST1-ST2-ST3-GP.
      In other specialties, specialty training is 8 years so you go up to ST8 before becoming a consultant.

    Thank You for this info.. I want to ask: My brother is medical graduate who read medicine outside UK (not even in his home country) and lacks internship experience, and he is in UK studying masters in public health nutrition with d intention to write Plab 1 and 2 exams, can he secure certified medical license in UK after completing Foundation year 1 and 2 as well ?
    I have also heard that an international medical graduate with no internship experience currently in a masters degree in Public Health nutrition at UK could skip to FY2 instead of starting from FY1.. Is this true pls?

    • @DoctorNosa
      @DoctorNosa  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Obinna, you're welcome! You secure a full license to practice after you complete Foundation year 1. To my knowledge, if you do not have at least 12 months internship then Foundation year 1 is the only option (i had to start this way too as I had no experience after medical school). Hope that helps.

    If a Nigerian international medical graduate (studied medicine in Ukraine) comes to UK to study Masters in public health nutrition without any internship experience and did not engage in volunteer work at NHS, how would he be able to make up for his lack of internship experience? Will the foundation year program (FY2) supplement his clinical or housemanship inexperience ?

    • @tomriley5790
      @tomriley5790 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      First of all he would need to get his medical training recognised and obtain provisional registration with the GMC - the GMC will have to recognise his medical school and they weill be able to give you the requriements that are needed to obtain provisional registration, this may involve sitting some more exams (plab for example). After that he would either need to apply to the foundation training programme (subject to immigration regiariements etc. - talk to the foundation programme) or to trusts whihc may offer foundation posts independently (if doing this make sure they are approved and will lead to a foundation certificate of competnence) after F1 he should obtain full registration and after F2 the Foundation certificate of competence which qualifies for core training applications. First port of call would be the GMC, his university may be able to help him too.

      Incredible, I also just started trading with Ms. Pamela Rose, with an initial investment of $ 1,400, I made up to $ 6,700 in just one week of trading with her, her strategies are amazing

      Actually you do have a point. They are refusing to discuss more than one problem at a time. Its easier to fob someone off over the phone. Another annoying thing is getting receptionists to ask nosey questions when making the appointment. It didn't used to be like this! 😕

      @@pkhn yes covid has gave them a chance to shift everything on line. No human contact.interaction. I remember the days when the doctors used to come into your home's, as a family friend even know the family dog. Sit down have tea and discuss issues. Now it's all about the Benjamins baby!
