I just put a deposit on this model…just decided I wanted the last year of the 3rd Generation. I purchased my current Tacoma (2019 TRD Off Road) January of 2019. I currently have just under 250k (totally trouble free) miles - many of those in 4WD ( we own a horse farm). My truck still looks and drives like new!
This Gen of the Tacoma is a great Gen (we have a first Gen in our family as well , my son has it).

Yep been a terrific truck…I changed oil every 4500 miles and did all suggested maintenance at my dealership.

Next Tacoma TRD Pro Gen 4 will cost 5-10,000 more to start. It will get a couple MPG better but not more ten that.
I have the turbo 4 in my highlander. Not at all impressed with the performance of the engine. Many many complaints are being shared about hesitation, pausing and shuddering under acceleration. It’s quiet at idle, starts well and is efficient however. So far the correction seems be unresolvable from the dealer but running premium seems to help.
Bottom line is with Gen 3 you know what your going to get and how the story will read.
Gen 4 your lining up to pay way more MSRP and likely mark ups and hope!
Way too much money for me to feel comfortable with.

I have the same one in an amazing steel grey, such a head turner. Also the 24 TRD pro made the rear seats unusable with the stupid suspension front seats, what a stupid standard option. We give you rear seats that you cannot use because.. Shocks In the Front Seattttsss lol
