These half frames have been my go-to ever since I got my first one! I’ve taken my H35 on several trips and the photos are some of my most favorite I’ve taken in my entire photography journey.
I bought the camera after lots of research and watching this video Excellent first camera and incredible for starting the hobby - its simple - its cheap _ half frame is double the fun, half the price _ the camera itself its cheap compared with new models - its portable - the photos are super cool Thank you Anjroo! you definitely had influence in me buying this camera and starting film photography I'm thinking on getting a more advanced model, for understanding photography better
Thanks to one of your videos I bought the h35n and it’s the best decision ever! You have to be patient with the 36 shots films cause it would feel like they’re never ending 😅😂 (PS I do like the star filter 😅😂)
I loved your detail about not judging you. ;) Great post. Great descriptions. This really had me thinking a lot about this camera. I had been at least sniffing at the Pentax 17.
Thank you! That means a lot! I’m on the spectrum so I LOVE over explaining in excruciating detail 😂😂😂 glad it’s helpful! Haha Also yes! The ONLY factor keeping me from buying the Pentax 17 is the scale focusing method, if it were a range finder that thing would be in my hands!!!!!
@@Anjroo - both my kids are on the spectrum so I recognize some of that detail-minded ness. I'm ADHD so I get a smidge myself. Well dang. Now I >have< to subscribe. ;)
Great video! That was the same thought I had when I decided to go with the previous model. I don't know anything about photography so I just wanted something like you said that is really simple like a disposable one, but where I can play around with different films. And also it was cheaper haha and I didn't know when I would use those extra features anyway I do have a question, sometimes I take pictures with my friends like you had as a selfie, how do you know if you are even in the frame? any advice here?
Oh that’s great! Yeah this little camera is definitely my favorite this year, unexpected but love the little thing! Yes totally fair question. It’s always a guessing game of course, -but I like holding it vertically (which provides a horizontal image) -which helps getting it as far away from me as possible(only 1meter minimum focusing) -centering myself in the middle, and telling everyone else to gather close around me Hope that helps! 🥰
@@Anjroo ah wow thanks! I honestly never thought of just centering myself and tell everyone to gather around tried to accommodate everyone 😅 For a moment, I thought of adding a tiny mirror, but it's never gonna be angled right since it can't be on the same spot as the lens 🤔 I'm excited to see my films I haven't developed any yet cause I keep putting it off... I did 3 Ultramax and one Lomography color negative 400. I think those were the closest I could get to a "polaroid" look, so less saturated but more vibrant but will see when I actually develop them 🤞
Hi, I just got the H35N - it actually has F=22mm and you mentioned the features F8/F11 when talking about the battery out trick - what did you refer to? Thanks, Dora
@Anjroo Thanks! But by using the shutter release I am not able to control exposure, right? It's always at the 1/100 speed and by you have no influence over it?
got mine before travelling to mexico-city after one of your videо, but in my country, the price is way too high - 100$, when I bought a mirrored camera minolta with af 28-100 AND pentax iq200 for the same price, and they in perfect condition (pentax even have original packaging). as a 72 vs 36, it’s kinda really replacing disposable ones, but the cost of the camera itself..
No it’s only half frame! But the resolution is still sharper than most cheap refillable point and shoots. So it’s still worth looking into :) hopefully half frame is not a deal breaker for you
I feel like just inserting a yellow filter would've way better, but I get it considering the target audience I bet they'd get a few angry emails or social media post about ruined photos. I wonder if you could hack it a bit to swap the filter, tempting me to try it.
Oh it’s a HUUUGE difference! The h35 is basically a plastic box that cant do much, the Ricoh is electronic, has automatic settings and focusing, etc. completely different leagues of cameras :)
Can you dismantle it and remove the built in lens and expose the sensor and modify it to accept the c/cs mout lenses to see if this "toy" could be any usable...and seeing its limits.... will get better quality images/video than. The current potato pics/vids
I don't think I quite understand what you're asking at this point. It's a film camera with a fixed lens. I'm sure you could fab up some type of mod but it would need to be bespoke and you'll probably have to figure it out yourself as there is no current large modding community for the Ektar H35/N.
@@richardbae i think I've clearly stated the word "digital" in the above comment , i suggested to mod an "digital" camera(cheap "digital" point and shoot)with c/cs mout, idk what. Was hard in understanding this simple thing..
@@49Amit-j8tMy fault, I thought you were still talking about the H35n in the video and were still misunderstanding that it’s a digital camera. What you’re asking isn’t economically feasible. Since there are plenty of digital camera options out there with interchangeable lenses. I could be wrong and there could be some niche community out there modding cheap digicams that I am unaware of though.

That’s amazing! Film is so fun! Thanks for sticking around❤️
Your editing style & videos are pretty cool!
Thank you for the insightful and professional review of the camera. I appreciate how you highlighted the most important aspects that truly matter.
Have the original and still digging it. Bulb mode is a great add to the new one but haven’t gotten it yet. Thanks for these videos 👍
Thanks for being here!

The 22mm is the focal length,
F means aperture!
@Anjroo Thanks! But by using the shutter release I am not able to control exposure, right? It's always at the 1/100 speed and by you have no influence over it?
The opposite!
So typically it is that 1/100, but by using a cable release it can be as long as you want!
@Anjroo Thank you! And thanks for your great content, not only professional but also very friendly and helpful!

I know its a half frame camera but is there a way you can make it full frame? I just want 1 photo per exposure not 2

Hi! Do you always need to move the down button so that whenever you shoot, it's always on 1?

I agree, the star filter seems out of place amongst the other upgrades!!
how did u edit the footage in 0:10? iphone with film sim?
Doubt he used an iPhone app. It’s most likely in post with whatever NLE he’s using and used a mask and filters for the effect.
What’s the difference for you with this and camera you like Ricoh r1?

This is a 35mm film camera, there is no sensor. No videos, it’s film.
