@@Ben-ni4cc America and Russia. While the Americans obviously deserve the blame for most of the wars, the Soviets/Russians are not that far behind them. As for the communist Chinese, while they have not invaded another country since 1979 does not mean that they are not preparing to do so now and I am not referring to Taiwan either. If Indian military establishment think the base in Cambodia can be a threat to them then it is.

They are scared that the communist Chinese are working on a "string of pearls", bases to surround India. Cambodia is only the beginning. Allegedly through the BRI the communist Chinese supposedly gain control of major ports such as Gwadar in Pakistan, Humbantota in Sri Lanka, port in the seychelles or maldives and then proposed ports in East Africa to go with the base the communist Chinese already have in Djibouti which effectively surrounds India in the same way that the communist Chinese complain about the Americans doing to them. Andaman Sea is in the vicinity of Indian interests already so they are keen to keep the communist Chinese out of there. Part of this has to do with a strategy the Indians have speculated about by closing the Strait of Malacca and other "choke points" to communist Chinese shipping in the event of a war breaking out on the border, that is in the event of another communist Chinese invasion.
China lately entered into a deal with the Solomon Islands. Thank God, Fiji did not entertain China. If this is not a wake up call for India and the rest of the democracies, then what is? Businesses are still moving manufacturing to China because they cannot resist the lure of cheap labour. C'mon India get out there and compete.
