    Dave is a proper actual expert
    Everything is important when it comes to suspension and those measurements are critical for performance and safety
    So whatever Dave charges it’s worth it because not only do you get your bike set optimally, you also get knowledge ☝🏻

    On my 2020 z1000sx I can only get rear rider sag down to 33mm with preload all the way in and that’s with the strongest spring I could find! Ktech 110nm.

    Hi Dave, nice and informative video. Especially the effect of an underdamped setting on the back tire is great insight!
    But I don't understand why you adjust compression and rebound damping before setting up the pre-load? It might not have that big effect in this case, but generally I'd adjust that first and tune the damping according to the new spring rate. If change in preload is large, this might lead to some frustration in the first place...

    • @CorvusHyperion
      @CorvusHyperion 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spring rate won't change with changes in preload.

    • @cblaster171
      @cblaster171 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because there was no compression damping at all on the front forks due to being out of range. He put it into range.

      They already did sag so small readjustment.

    I would love Dave to tune my gsx 1000. I have chased it ever since I bought it and I can’t get it right.

    Im getting confused with this HALF ONE talk ???
    My bike shows from left to right S - H .
    So is closed turned left anti clockwise or fully turned right clockwise ??
    As i see him adjusting at the wheel from right to left ????.?.. where im going from left to right at 1 1/4 turn ... as it shows to be standard setting ...

    • @marks4058
      @marks4058  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The "half, one" is Dave counting out loud as he counts the number of turns he makes. As I understand it, he's counting up in increments of 0.5 turns.
      Closed (h) is turned fully clockwise as far as it will go. Open (s) is anticlockwise. You can count turns from fully open or fully closed so long as you do it the same way every time.

      I felt like that for ages too! I think it's one of those skills that needs hands on experience and lots of repetition to really internalize.
