It was one of those nights, one of those nights when you feel the world stop turnin', you were standing There, there was music in the air. I should have been Away, but I knew I'd have to stay. Last train to London, just headin' out, Last train to London, just leavin' town. But I really want tonight to last forever I really wanna be with you, Let the music play on down the line tonight.

Fucking amazing song. Of course the bass line it's epic, the chorus it's memorable. However, what I like the most it's the melody of the verses: "it was one of those nights.." effing great.
+Sherry Baker hello, similar situation for me, about the time this (and other best ever songs) was on AM 580 CKLW Detroit MI (across Lake Erie from me), 6th grade '79, on my way to Westwood Jr High/Elyria OH, then on to Elyria West High/Elyria OH, such a bright future i earned, before i was forced to leave it all behind
CKLW was a country station where im from maybe there were two different stations of the same name. You know music makes life bearable even in the worse circumstance.
@Michael B it's wonderful now, can hear it clearly online without the am-fuzz (now CKWW; i was told here in the nether-world of youtube, that CKLW still exists there but now only does news, CKWW now does the 60s-70s CKLW music)

So frustrating this song was not included in the ELO compilation album All Around the World, it definitely deserves a place.

Okay, that’s not kosher.

Jeff Lynne and Elo have been so vastly underrated over the years -I think even though their music is mostly 'middle of the road'
pop music, they have produced some quality songs over the last few decades.Jeff Lynne is such a talented performer and so deserves more recognition than he has had in his career.'Discovery' must rate as one of my favourite albums.I just love every song on there. This is definitely a favourite with 'Mr Blue Sky' and 'Concerto for a Rainy Day'.I see that Jeff has been nominated to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and rightly so.Such a great artist, songwriter and performer. He and Elo deserve it.
I'm obsessed with this song! Amazing groove!
I'm obsessed with ELO in general (especially now that he's brought Amy and Rosie Langley into the mix).
FINALLY a non-video (audio) song on an official channel without a disabled comment section !!!
Just realised that. Any idea why?
Last train to london lyrics
0:15 It was nine twenty-nine
Nine twenty-nine, back street, big city
The sun was going down
There was music all around, it felt so right
It was one of those nights
One of those nights when you feel the world stop turning
You were standing there
There was music in the air
I should have been away
But I knew I had to stay
Last train to London
Just heading out
Last train to London
Just leaving town 1:03
But I really want tonight to last forever
I really wanna be with you
Let the music play on down the line tonight
It was one of those nights
One of those nights when you feel the fire is burning
Everybody was there, everybody to share
It was so right
There you were on your own
Looking like you were the only one around
I had to be with you
Nothing else that I could do
I should have been away
But I knew I had to stay
Last train to London
Just heading out
Last train to London
Just leaving town
But I really want tonight to last forever
I really wanna be with you
Let the music play on down the line tonight
2:37 Underneath a starry sky
Time was still but hours must really have rushed by
I didn't realize
But love was in your eyes
I really should have gone
But love went on and on
Last train to London
Just heading out
Last train to London
Just leaving town 3:09
But I really want tonight to last forever
I really wanna be with you
Let the music play on down the line tonight
But I really want tonight to last forever
I really wanna be with you
Let the music play on down the line tonight

hey bro
@Samuel Malca ya I do
I miss the violin 🎻 on music
Whenever I'm feeling down I put this song on...
Whenever I'm feeling myself I put this song on...
It's amazing! love it

As I said, the best western pop music is in the era of 60’s-80’s! They are really great….!
Full on disco rock...ELO were 4 on the floor...quite tasty not overt
I will never get tired of listening to this masterpiece.
Outstanding E.L.O. Very Grateful
Fucking amazing song. Of course the bass line it's epic, the chorus it's memorable. However, what I like the most it's the melody of the verses: "it was one of those nights.." effing great.
Nothing like the music of the 60's 70's and 80's the best music 👌
Listening now , Buenos Aires, Argentina!!! I love Elo!
Along with "Do Ya" and "Strange Magic" that's all I needed to hear during this tour. Of course we all got so much more.
Brilliant tune, Jeff does disco as well as anyone else
They better play this at the club when i put it in the playlist
Temazo de ELO, el más conocido y tocado, para mi tenían muchos temazos inolvidables!!
Kelly Groucutt’s bass work on this is incredible btw
One of my all time favs of ELO.
I was Elementary school when then song came out 6th grade actually and times were really good.1978😄😘
+Sherry Baker hello, similar situation for me, about the time this (and other best ever songs) was on AM 580 CKLW Detroit MI (across Lake Erie from me), 6th grade '79, on my way to Westwood Jr High/Elyria OH, then on to Elyria West High/Elyria OH, such a bright future i earned, before i was forced to leave it all behind
